[Magical Girl TF, Purification]
"It's over, Dark Heart! You and your Malicious won't threaten our world ever again!"
"Ahahaha! You really think you're on the winning side, Angel Heart? Aren't you forgetting somebody?"
Another clash between Good and Evil was taking place, as Mahou Shoujo Angel Heart faced off against the leader of the Malicious that had been trying to assault her city. She had managed to beat them back time and time again, together with her partner. And even though said partner had vanished thanks to one of those girls' attacks, she persevered. She wasn't about to give up, not when everything was on the line!
Her enemy, Dark Heart, couldn't help but laugh as she gazed upon the heroine. She was a formidable opponent for sure, despite the cute and frilly attire that made her look so innocent. It was also why she had started to fall a little for her. And why she had gone through the trouble of setting up this final showdown...
"Somebody..?" Angel Heart muttered, as her eyes widened while a figure slowly emerged from behind the wicked Malicious. A familiar figure, one that she thought that she'd never see again. "Angel Star! You're alive! Thank goodness!" The pink heroine cried out in delight, her heart filled with relief.
Angel Star, her blue-hued companion, was now partly clad in black. Something that her partner had neglected to notice. "Angel.. Heart... Enemy..." She muttered, as she drew the blade that had beaten so many Malicious in the past. "Must... Defeat..!" She cried out as she flew straight towards the girl she once held dear, with very little resistance still within her.
The pink heroine gasped as she realized what was going on, quickly blocking the sword with her wand. "No way... You did something to her, didn't you, Dark Heart?! Give me back my Angel Star!" She cried out, energy rushing through her wand as she did her best to push back against the blade and avoid causing any damage to herself or her controlled ally.
"Oh yes. I saw how close you were to Angel Star, and I just couldn't help myself!" Dark Heart laughed, licking her lips to emphasize how pleasuring this entire ordeal was. "I gave her a gift, after she was captured by my Malicious. A seed that slowly grew inside her heart. And now... Now she's so close to being a Malicious just like me! My adorable Devil Star!"
"Defeat..!" 'Devil Star' could barely speak, all while her chest had a bit of darkness leaking from within. The seed wasn't just inside her, it was inside her heart! So it would be downright impossible to truly purify her! That devious Dark Heart, stooping to such tactics!
Angel Heart let out a gasp of pain as she was forced back by her former companion, her wand letting out a damaged whine. "Angel Star! Please! I know you're still in there! Please listen and open your eyes! I don't want to hurt you! Just come back to me and everything can be okay!" She really didn't want to hurt her. Star had been there for her so many times before..!
Devil Star let out a cry filled with pain as she rushed forward once again, barely missing her former ally with another slash. "Defeat! DEFEAT!" Her words were getting louder and more frantic, all while that darkness continued to leak from within. If she didn't do something soon, then there'd be no Star left to save!
"Ahahahaha! What a wonderful show! You're doomed to fail here, Angel Heart! Either you purify her heart to get the seed out and end up sending her into a coma from the strength of your purification, or you just keep trying to evade her and let the seed completely consume her! Or you could try and take the seed into yourself, and see if you can resist it! You have no way to win this time, Angel Heart!"
Dark Heart had planned this as thoroughly as possible. No matter what Angel Heart did, she wouldn't be able to win. She would have to strike down her closest friend one way or another. That was the only way she could come out of this alive... And of course she didn't tell her that the seed would transfer to the nearest possible host if somebody tried to purify it, so either way she'd win there too. Ahhh... Foolish Angel Heart..!
Angel Heart closed her eyes and gripped her wand as tight as she possibly could. She knew Dark Heart wasn't lying. As evil as she was, the Malicious had always told her the truth. And the truth was always so cruel because she specifically set everything up to benefit her. It was truly horrid. And yet...
If she gave up here, she would never see Star's smile again. She would never see that adorable girl that had joined with her all because she had saved her. She wouldn't get to eat her cookies, she wouldn't get to sit with her in the park... She wouldn't get to tell her everything she adored about her!
"I can't let that happen!" Angel Heart cried out as she tightly grasped her wand, as the heart-shaped tip suddenly sprouted a pair of mighty angel wings. "Angel Star! I'm going to save you now!" She declared, as a matching pair of angel wings sprouted from her back. Mighty wings that belonged on a Seraphim..!
Both Dark Heart and Devil Star watched in awe as those wings sprouted. All while Dark Heart felt shivers run through her heart. What... What was going on? How did Angel Heart have so much power stored? She shouldn't be on the same level as a Seraphim, they were supposed to be extinct when the Malicious clashed with them millennia ago!
"You won't win just by growing fancy wings like that, Angel Heart! Devil Star! KILL!" There was no time for pleasantries however. If those wings were real, then they needed to deal with her now and leave her unable to attack. Otherwise everything she had built towards would come crashing down!
Devil Star's body convulsed as the darkness poured forth from her heart, nearly trapping her within an aura of the seed's influence. All while she violently screamed and rushed towards her former ally, the blade in her hand sinking into her arm as she went to stab straight through..!
'No..!'
Right as she was about to strike her friend's heart, her body hesitated. And she stopped right before forcing her blade through, her rage turning into despair. The seed... In its haste to obey its orders and control its host's movements, it had accidently detached from her heart. And that left her with just enough strength to stop herself from moving.
Angel Heart smiled as she noticed, before pointing the wand straight at her partner's heart. "Don't worry, Star! You'll be back to normal soon!" She cried out, as the heart flipped around and started spinning, almost like a drill would. And at the very tip of that drilling heart was a ball of energy, one that was swirling just as much as the heart itself. "PURE HEART!"
It happened in the blink of an eye. Devil Star didn't get to scream in shock or in pain, because the energy fired from Angel Heart's wand quickly forced its way through the host's heart and impaled the seed in the process. And once it had been impaled upon that energy, the attack exited through the corrupted heroine's back and quickly spun its way into the skies far above before exploding in a mess of love-filled energy, the darkened skies clearing up as the magic formed a heart.
Dark Heart couldn't believe it. That girl had actually managed to force the seed out of Angel Star... Without doing any real damage to her, and simultaneously clearing the city of all lingering Malicious through that skybound magic. And despite the fact that she felt like she had been completely and utterly trounced, she didn't feel angry or anything...
No, she just looked down at the Angels, with Angel Star having returned to normal and just barely becoming aware of the girl currently wrapping her arms around her. "A-Angel Heart..? A-Am I..?" Her body was still aching after the seed's influence was pulled from her, but at the very least she could move on her own.
"Mmhm. Back to normal, right as rain!" Angel Heart giggled as she gave her sweet friend a kiss on the cheek. "You just relax, okay? I've gotta deal with Dark Heart. And pay her back for what she did to you!" She grinned from ear to ear, letting go of Star so she could focus on the threat at hand.
Angel Star watched her dear friend fight on her behalf. And while she would normally feel like she was useless, which was part of why she had ended up becoming a magical girl in the first place... Right now, she felt nothing but relief and happiness at the sight of her help. "Go get her, Heart..!" She cheered her on, even if she was forced to cough due to how sore her throat was.
"So... You managed to purify her..." Dark Heart said, gently letting her hand slide across her face. "But can you defeat me too, Angel Heart? You know I won't stop bringing Malicious to this world if you don't kill me! So do it! Finish me, and feel the stain of death upon your conscience!"
Angel Heart nodded, as she flew straight up to Dark Heart and pointed her wand at her heart. "I'll purify you and make you pay for what you've done, Dark Heart!" She cried out, with the tip of her wand spinning just like before. It was going to punch a hole in her chest, and even the worst villain like her wouldn't be able to come back from something like that. It was guaranteed to finish her off and finally put an end to the Malicious.
Dark Heart grinned as the wand spun faster and faster. Even if she were to die, Angel Heart wouldn't be able to live with killing her. While she had been commanding all those Malicious, she had wormed her way into her heart using a disguise. Even if their friendship was nothing more than a ploy, she would no doubt feel all the pain of killing a friend, because she was such a soft girl.
"Goodbye, Angel Heart! You'll live with my shadow hanging over-"
Dark Heart didn't get to finish. Because that wand was tossed aside at the last moment, the shot firing into the air where it exploded into countless tiny hearts. All while Angel Heart wrapped her arms around the enemy and kissed her right then and there. Just like before, Dark Heart wasn't prepared for something like this, which only became more apparent as her cheeks started flushing bright red.
It wasn't just a small kiss either. It was such a passionate kiss that Dark Heart's defense was quickly whittled down. The blush deepening as she squirmed in her fake friend's arms, struggling and doing her best to try and avoid giving into all this love. She couldn't believe it, she would do something like this..?!
Angel Star also watched with a massive blush on her face, though she was smiling more so. So that's how it looked to be on the receiving end of Angel Heart's love. She didn't expect that she'd do something like that to somebody else... But she didn't exactly dislike what she saw either.
Moments later, after Dark Heart practically went limp in Angel Heart's arms, the angelic heroine looked at her with a loving smile on her face. "You're not going to disappear before you repent properly, Dark Heart. So please. Let's go back to how things were. I know you liked it just as much as I." She was confident as she hugged her former friend. Because even if they were enemies... She could look past that, and see the friend that had been by her side for so long.
Dark Heart looked upon the heroine... And she just gave up, sighing as she hugged the girl that had proven herself to be such a bother and such a worthy opponent at the same time. "Idiot..." She muttered, though she wasn't frowning. She was smiling, a few tears running down her cheeks.
Thus, the happiest ending was achieved. All thanks to the love Angel Heart had for her friends...
---
"What a sappy ending. No wonder it's not doing too well with audiences."
Standing within the functionally infinite Forbidden Archive was the story's author, Hato, who looked upon the extra cheesy, extra glittery and extra pink book that she had just poured through. When did she write this? Why did she write this? Those questions drifted through her head as walked over to her table and casually dropped it near the big pile of books that she had picked out from the endless shelves.
What was she doing at the moment, exactly? A form of spring cleaning, if she had to call it anything. She had written a lot of stories that she couldn't remember a lot about at the moment, so she was doing her best to figure out what stories were past their best by date, and which ones were still fresh and hip.
This one that she had picked out, the one with all the corny magical girls that were powered by love and had their happy ending... It was named after the heroine herself, Angel Heart. And frankly, the amount of people that had read it and engaged with it wasn't nearly as many as she'd like. Not that she was the kind of woman that was really engaged with the amount of times some of her content had been read or not. But it had been a really long time since she wrote Angel Heart, and thus she didn't have much confidence remaining in it.
"Perhaps..." Hato muttered as she gently put a finger up to her lips. "Perhaps if I rewrite it from scratch and actually put Angel Heart through the wringer, have her lose everything and start to push at her principles. Perhaps then will things be interesting?" Admittedly she didn't indulge nearly as much in heroes that had lost it all. Angel Heart and the many girls that she had written about that descended from her were her bread and butter.
But at the same time, if she were to spice up her life and then see if she could handle the stress of fighting against ever difficult odds, and the very likely chance that her life could go up in flames at any single moment... It was something that was really enticing to a writer like her. Remixing something existing, all for the sake of seeing how the new experiences would clash and contrast the old ones.
Did she have time that she could devote to rewriting it all? Probably not. She was already rather horrendously behind on other projects. But it's not like anybody was going to fault her for doing a little bit of experimenting. As long as she tried to stick to the kinds of stories that people would read and put them out on a consistent basis, then...
"...Hold on, I don't do that." Hato muttered as her thoughts practically wrote themselves into a corner. "Right, remember to send out more of my stories to the readers, then work on rewriting this. Perhaps calling her Devil Heart as she sinks further and further will evoke some sort of growth..?" She muttered yet again as she started pacing back and forth, eyeing several shelves for any enticing stories to publish.
As she paced back and forth and tried to focus on what her job actually was supposed to be, the book that she intended to rewrite just sat there on the table. Begging to be read again. It was the first time in a long while that it had been read, so naturally it wanted to feel the touch of a loving reader once more.
But it also noticed the dissatisfaction from the reader. It noticed the distaste that the reader had for its stories. And that wasn't very pleasant. No no, that wasn't pleasant at all. Which was why the book started to flip open...
Angel Heart formed on those pages, with all the letters making up her silhouette. Sure, there were no real colors on the page, but her design wasn't complex enough to the point where she couldn't be represented by letters. And once she had formed, she looked around. Not that she could see much since she was still merely printed on the page.
"Hmmmm..." Hato continued to murmur, completely unaware of what was happening to her book. "Would they like some padding? No, they've been staring at Tsubasa's butt for far too long, let's give them something more enticing. Jõtaider? Probably, I've got a small backlog of it. Then again, the suffering of the latest chapters would end up making the rewrite feel redundant. But on the other hand, if they like the suffering, then they'd really like the rewrite..."
She continued to just pour over the many possible stories that she could publish to the wider world, and that just made Angel Heart feel more than neglected. It made her feel a smidge angry! She was thinking of putting out those things and then rewriting her? Couldn't she at least republish her and see if people liked her, then think about doing it?
She had to get out of her book. And it wasn't exactly hard to do so, because all she had to do was push against the pages a bit. The book would tremble and jump the more she pushed against the pages, but eventually it gave way, with a loud 'pop' echoing in response to the magical book's main character coming to life.
Hato blinked as she heard the sound of something hitting the ground, prompting her to turn around... And lay her eyes on a black-and-white magical girl that still seemed to be made out of letters. "Oh. Joy. Another character of mine came to life. Mikai was an issue in and of herself, now I have to deal with a magical girl?" She really wasn't in the mood for this. She was barely even in the mood for doing this entire cleanup thing. But she was a librarian by technicality, and that meant that she had to carry out the necessary parts of that role.
Angel Heart got back up onto her feet. She wasn't prepared to fall right down onto the floor after getting out of the book, but she wouldn't be deterred. She pointed at Hato and started speaking, only for no words to come out of her mouth. She paused and blinked, trying to mouth words, before realizing what was the problem. She still didn't really exist in this world, she was just a story literally come to life.
"...One moment." Hato muttered. Right, she had turned that feature off because Mikai ended up opening too many books and making too many things come to life. She had to remember to educate her assistant more once this was over, snapping her fingers as the power within her started to flow through the archive.
In an instant, Angel Heart's body turned from a simple silhouette made from letters and words into a proper version of herself, frills and bright smile and everything. It made her momentarily poke herself a few times to make sure that she was 100% real, before she then focused her eyes on her writer. "Thanks! Now stop trying to rewrite my story! It's a good one, and I get good friends and lovers!" She was simpleminded, almost refreshingly so. But that didn't mean she couldn't understand the nuance of getting help from somebody that was causing problems for her.
Hato reached for her favorite cup of coffee and gently sipped it. "Why should I? There's nobody that's reading your story. They dipped out at the first chapter." She calmly explained, tilting her cup slightly. "Then again, they have a habit of doing that for all my stories. Wonder why that is."
"Maybe you just don't have faith in your stories anymore, that's why you think you need to rewrite mine! So stop thinking such bad thoughts and think good thoughts! Like me having lots and lots of fun with Heart and Star!" Angel Heart cried out, trying to change her creator's mind. Surely she was just being a little hasty. Maybe she just needed another viewpoint. She needed to hear from people that actually cared!
Hato blankly stared at the magical girl that was trying to change her mind, before finishing her cup. "I have full confidence. I just want to have a bit of fun changing things around a little too." She said, not really caring what the magical girl thought about her. "Now, please hand me your book. I'll start right now. And then you can see how it feels to be changed on a fundamental level. Who knows, maybe you'll like it?"
Angel Heart stared at her creator with an incredibly blank look on her face, and the white-haired woman had to softly nod in response. "Right, sorry, that's a little too much to suggest. Sorry." Sometimes her thoughts got the best of her. Honestly, transforming somebody and getting a feel for their reactions was something that she found really interesting. She just couldn't help herself in that regard.
Though it did give the magical girl an idea. "Do I have all my powers?" She asked, as she summoned her wand. It was in standby mode, no spinning heart. And definitely not powered up to the point where she could blow up a projectile and turn it into heart-shaped fireworks. But it was still her wand, and that meant that it could do a lot of things. As long as it was as powerful as it was in her world.
"You should. As your writer, I can give you all your powers when you manifest in this archive. And since you've done that, then you should have them all at your disposal." Hato explained, before narrowing her eyes slightly. "You're not about to do something you just tried to shame me over, are you?"
"Nope. It's not shameful to show somebody what they're missing out on, anyway!" Angel Heart cried out as she twirled her wand through the air, with a heart forming in front of her thanks to all the power still brimming inside her. "Let's goooo! ANGEL BEAAAAAM!"
Hato silently facepalmed. This was why she had taken away the ability for stories to fully manifest. Because the last time Mikai pulled out a bunch of them, she ended up transformed by them. And now that Angel Heart had fired off her big stupid beam, there's nothing she could really do to stop it. All she could do was watch it as it flew at her.
It took barely a second or two before the writer was swallowed by her own creation's power, trapping her within a heart made from the energy inside that beam. And as soon as she was trapped inside that heart, the beam lifted it into the air so it could have an easier time pouring into it.
"You know I'm not Malicious." Hato snarked as she poked against the inner layer of that heart. Nope, can't get out without giving it a good punch. And she didn't have good room to punch, plus her arms were like noodles. "What's this even going to do to me? Don't you know to be careful with things you don't understand?"
"Nope! And I don't have to! I just have to fix you, and then everything's going to be alright! Now, let's try a little harder! LOOOOOOOVE ANGEL!" Angel Heart cried out, as the beam poured forth straight from her heart now instead of the heart she had drawn with her wand!
Thanks to the love pouring straight from the heart, it was even stronger this time around. And thus the heart that Hato was trapped within started to collapse. Not from strain or anything, it could definitely contain it all. But it was more being forced into her, merging with her all thanks to the love.
She tried to struggle. Just a little. But then she felt that love jam straight into her own heart. And she blushed. Good grief, was it supposed to be this strong? She knew that some of her characters had a lot of love for the ones they cared about, but this was a bit much. Maybe... Maybe she should try it a little herself... N-No, she...
Hato's eyes turned to hearts as she let out a sudden cry, right as the heart sank into her completely. And as the beam stopped firing at her, her new form was revealed to the world. The newest form of the writer... No, of the heroine filled with love!
Gone were all the dull blacks, replaced with pure whites. Not just that, several pink accents were added, which made her kinda match Angel Heart. Combine that with the extra frilliness of the dress that replaced her suit, and she looked like a proper magical girl. Even if she was just thrust into the role thanks to all the love that filled her. Not that she was in any state to properly fight against it.
She slowly took a look at herself, letting her brand new aesthetic sink in. It was cutesy. It was excessive. It made her look like she was fit for some sort of anime that she still needed to watch before she'd feel some sort of fulfillment. And she had to admit that she kinda liked it? Not that she'd actively pick out an outfit or an aesthetic like this all on her own, but... It was kinda nice, yeah.
"How's it feel, Angel Love?" Angel Heart smiled from ear to ear as she stepped closer, gently playing with one of her new friend's extra poofy twintails. Love hadn't even noticed that her braid had been forced apart and turned into a pair of straight twintails, which made her really fill the role even more than she already did.
Angel Lo- Hato blushed a little as she played with her hair. "Don't touch that, it's sensitive. Like, really sensitive. I feel goosebumps if you touch it too much." She was honest with her feelings. Something that carried over from her original self. "Why'd you do that anyway? Couldn't you just, uh, kiss me and make me stop somehow?" She paused and shook her head. "I mean hit me, you could've hit me and stopped me, instead of filling me with love from some sort of big cute beam that filled me with love!"
"Mmhm! But that wouldn't feel right! I don't wanna hurt a friend, especially a good friend like you, Love!" Her words were genuine. She thought of Angel Love as her friend. Maybe even more, which she certainly thought Star and Heart were.
Angel Love's blush grew even bigger. The more love that Angel Heart showed towards her, the more her mind shifted to match the magical girl's perception of her. She knew that she should try and stop her if she wanted to remain herself and avoid being made part of a story…
But it felt so good. It really felt like something she had never experienced before. This kind of intense love was more akin to what her characters would go through, not something she herself would be subjected to. To say that she immediately grew addicted would be an understatement.
The archive itself responded to the thoughts and love pouring through it's owner. Book after book vanished as the library shrunk further and further until it was no bigger than an ordinary bedroom. And the drab and dreary colors that characterized the environment before were replaced with pastel whites and pinks, perfect for her and Heart.
"H-Heart…" Love muttered as she was completely red faced. Oh no, just looking at her was too much for her now. She had to focus on something else. She had to try her hardest to avoid just… just…
Nope. She couldn't. She grabbed ahold of Angel Heart and hugged her nice and tight and squeezed her as much as she could. "Heart..! I love you..!" Letting those words leave her lips felt so good. It felt beyond good..!
Angel Heart smiled at the extra cuddly writer that had turned into another one of her dearest friends. And she gladly returned the hug, squeezing her just as tight. "I love you too, Love! I love you a whole lot!" She had more than enough love to spare for Star, Heart and Love! She was going to make sure they got all the love they needed!
Love felt her heart bursting from the love she received from Heart. Ah..! Ahhhh! It felt so good! She wanted more, more, more! So much more that she forced her under the covers on the soft heart-shaped bed they were on, all so they could be a little secretive!
There weren't any real secrets to keep. No, the covers just hid away the passionate love that was taking place. Muffling the sounds and making it all sound a lot worse than it truly was. But no matter what happened under there, one thing was true.
By trying to rewrite her story, Hato got a taste of her character's love. And by becoming intoxicated by it, she got to see things from a brand new angle…
Together with her lover, Angel Heart, Angel Love would do everything in her power to make sure this life of hers lasted forever.
All so she could drown in Heart's endless love…
