[Princess Peach Semi-Twinning]

The Smash Brothers Tournament allowed a lot of different individuals to come together and fight against one another for sport. Whether they were heroes in their world or villains, they were able to put their differences aside for this one moment just to enjoy life, even if it meant that they would be back at each others' throats when they returned home.

But it wasn't just alliances between those that held bad blood that were formed. No, those that held similar values naturally gravitated towards one another. That was why the heroes from Hyrule ended up bonding surprisingly smoothly with the various heroes and royalty from the Mushroom Kingdom. This was especially the case for the Hero of the Wilds and the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, who hit it off a lot more than one would've expected.

In Link's case, the time period he heralded from didn't have a traditional princess. His version of Princess Zelda did not want to live up to the duties that were laid upon her, preferring to take the role of a researcher who could geek out about the world at a moment's notice. While he had definitely grown close to her over the time he served as her guardian, that didn't mean he understood what a Princess was like.

Meeting Peach, who had shown him a bout of mercy when they first fought and allowed him to get the hang of the quirks of the Smash Brothers Tournament, allowed him to understand exactly what it meant to be a Princess. And in the same breath, he understood that what Zelda did wasn't wrong. It was just her way of expressing herself. It's just that Peach fit the bill a lot more, and that was why he ended up gravitating towards her.

As for Peach, she was happy to meet another one of the Heroes that came from Hyrule. She had seen many versions of Link come and go, but this latest one was honestly quite cute. He was a wild child like the others, in a sense, but he was also disciplined due to his time protecting the Princess personally. It was something that made the two naturally attract one another. Because he could play her Knight, while she played his Princess.

But there was another reason why she had taken an interest in the blonde young Hero of the Wilds, and that was the way he seemed so intent on learning what it was like being a Princess. It was why she had invited him over for a spot of tea again and again. Because he wanted to learn more. Not unlike the Princess that he had told her about. They were very alike in that sense. But it was that kinship that had caused a plan to hatch inside Peach's head.

"Oh, Link!" A plan that she would put into action very soon, as the blonde Princess smiled gently, walking over to her heroic companion. "You're exactly the one I was looking for. You're not busy any time soon, are you?" Her voice was regal, yet soft and sweet. Something that perfectly reflected the way that she liked to rule her Kingdom.

Link shook his head with a smile of his own. "I just finished a bout against my own world's older heroes and villains. I don't have anything that I need to do, at least not for a while." He explained, gently brushing off a bit of soot. "Those boys that also claim to be Link, they're a lot more reckless with their bombs than I am." He had to admit. Then again, they had to use proper armaments instead of the Sheikah tech that he had available, so they were probably reckless due to the fact they just had to grab another one instead of waiting for a slate to recharge.

Peach chuckled, putting her hand up to her lips to hide her smile a little. "They are a rambunctious bunch, aren't they? It's a wonder you can keep up with them. Then again, I've heard that Daisy's been playing with them lately, so maybe her tomboyish spirit has been rubbing off on them." She chimed, before chuckling a little more. "But they're not as important as you are right this moment, dear Link. If you don't mind, I'd like to invite you over for a bit of tea and cake. Is that alright with you?"

"Of course! I'd love to come. It's always a treat to stop by your Kingdom!" Link was quick to brighten at the sound of the invitation. Despite the fact that he had been a Guardian and a Knight, and passed out for about a century since the day his Princess awoke to her natural talent, he was still incredibly chipper when it came down to it. Because that's just what Link was at the core of it all.

Peach nodded and gently held out her hand. "Then shall we go? I can ask the Toads to prepare the tea and the cake, but I would like you to take me home before that." The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom believed in certain traditions. Which meant that she would naturally be escorted by somebody like Link as they headed to her home world. Even if certain individuals would end up smashing around on the roof of the castle...

Link took her hand, nodding as a portal to the Mushroom Kingdom started to form in front of them. "I'll lead you there, Princess Peach. In exchange for all the times you've had me as a guest." He said with confidence and pride, more than happy to serve a Princess like her. Not that Zelda was bad, far from it, but he still just couldn't pry his eyes away from her. Something about her made his little heroic heart flutter.

Of course, by taking her hand and guiding her into the portal that led to her home world, he sealed his own fate. The Hero of the Wilds would not be the same by the time he returned to the mishmashed realm that served as the grounds for the Smash Brothers Tournament.

From the moment he took Princess Peach's hand, he had walked straight into her plan, and it was only a matter of time...

---

Link had grown quite familiar with Princess Peach's personal quarters thanks to their frequent little meetings, but it never ceased to please him as he stepped into those chambers. The scene was so serene and sweet, as soft as the Princess herself. He could practically just go flop onto the Princess' bed and pass out with satisfaction on his face, though he knew that if he did that, she'd probably softly reprimand him for acting before asking.

Though as he looked around, the world seemed a little more... Right? He didn't know how to properly put it, there was just something about standing in this room, standing in this world, that felt right to him. Maybe it was because of how often he had been here. Maybe he was just getting used to all of it.

"What tea would you like, Link? Or do you just want the Toads to pick out something?" Peach asked, as she let go of his hand and walked right past him, the portal that had brought them to this room disappearing behind them both. "I'm sure they'll remember the last time they gave you that extra spicy tea and avoid causing a scene like that again."

A soft chuckle left Peach's lips, all while Link blushed a little. "It was certainly strong. But I've had my fair share of meals while I've been trying to save my world. I just didn't expect the very first drink I had here in this world to scorch my tongue." Even a Hero like him had his weaknesses. But Peach was different than him. She brushed off something like that with ease and a chuckle, not even really worrying about what had happened in the past. Every day was a new day, which was always something to cherish.

"Then I'll make sure that they brew the sweetest tea that they can possibly brew. Then we can find out if you can handle something on the other end of the scale." The blonde princess teased, all while taking a seat on one of the chairs that surrounded her cozy little tea table. "Have a seat, Link. You still look tired after that battle."

Link nodded, unconsciously reaching for the lower part of his tunic, not unlike if he was trying to tug up a long dress much like Peach. It caused him to blink for a moment before he sat down unceremoniously, his heart beating a little louder than usual after that. Why did he try to act like he was wearing a dress? It didn't make sense to him...

Peach smiled a little as she watched the confusion on Link's face. Yes, the spell that she had cast was working rather wonderfully. Sure, she had promised Bowser that she would stop by and play with Junior and the Koopalings for about a week in exchange for the help of his Magikoopas and their transformative spells, but it was all worth it. That was why she had done her best to keep her hand from touching anything else all throughout the day. All so Link could take her hand and the effects could take place.

"Say, Link? You look a little pale. Are you sure you aren't hurting from your recent fights? I'm sure that the doctors here can find out what's wrong with you, if you need any help." Peach asked, showing more than enough concern as she gently put her hand to her chest, showing just how worried she was.

Link softly shook his head, putting his hand up to his chest as well. "It's... It's nothing that's come from my fights, Princess. I don't know what's come over me, but I'm absolutely sure that it's got nothing to do with a fight." Something about holding his hand to his chest was making him feel more at ease. "I think it might just be fatigue. Every time I come back to your chambers, I always feel like my body's being overwhelmed by how gentle the entire room is..."

"Aaaah. Well, if it's because of my room, then why don't we have you change into something more comfortable? I'm sure it's because you're not properly dressed for a night with a Princess that your heart's beating so loud that I can hear it from all the way over here." Peach chimed, more than happy to hear that her friend was alright as she got up from her chair, carefully walking over to one of her many closets...

"P-Properly dressed, Princess?" Link said as he slowly got up from his chair, unconsciously tugging on his tunic as he did so. Just like Peach did. "Uhm, but, you only have clothes meant for Princesses, don't you?" His question was very reasonable. And yet it felt like he shouldn't worry too much about it. Those dresses that she wanted to put him in... They were actually really beautiful. Wait, hold on, no, that shouldn't be right...

"Of course. And what are you, Link?" Peach returned his question with a smile, all while showing him an adorable blue-hued version of her own dress. It was blue with a few white trimmings, perfectly fitting the tunic that he usually wore. "I mean, you've heard so much about Princesses, and you keep asking me more and more about what I think a Princess is. So if I think you're a Princess, what do you think that means?"

Link blushed as he heard that. That was such a brazen set of words. There was no way that they were true. But at the same time, they felt so right? There was something about them, something about the way that Peach was looking at him, as well as the way that she pushed the dress towards him... It all felt... so...

It was at this point that Link finally bothered to look down at himself properly. And finally, he noticed a few key details that seemed awfully strange about himself. For one, there was a rather generous bust poking its way out against his tunic, allowing him to stare straight into the cleavage that had formed between the two. Beyond that, his arms had managed to slim so much that it looked like he could easily fit into the same set of gloves that Peach always wore, and his legs were much the same. It was like he had... No, there was no way.

"Let's just get all of that off. It's getting awfully stuffy, isn't it?" Peach chimed as she very carefully plucked the tunic off Link's body, exposing his naked form to the mirror that happened to be right in front of him. And in the process, he could see the utter lack of masculinity. All of his training had vanished, replaced with a regal body that never saw a day of proper and pointed training. Not only that, but there was absolutely no sign of anything bulging out his underwear... Which meant that he wasn't a he any longer.

Link didn't know what to say. What could she say? The fact that she had rather abruptly been turned into a girl was more than enough to make her blush all over, as she tried to naturally cover herself. Though Peach stopped her before she got the chance, gently putting a finger up to her own lips. "It'll all be alright, Link. Just trust in your Princess, alright?"

"B-But, Peach, I-" Link tried to argue against her. But that finger met her lips, and she fell silent. Even as Peach removed more and more of the clothes that were clinging to her demasculinized form. Leaving her completely and utterly naked, something that her reflection was forcing her to confront. There was no way around what was in front of her. She was no longer a man. She was definitely a woman. And she looked... A lot... like... Peach..?

Link tried to look towards Peach, though the Princess didn't seem to show any sign of maliciousness on her face. Even as she was neatly helping Link style her hair so it was done in the exact same style that hers was. The only thing that made them stand out from one another was the fact that the new 'Princess' didn't have a crown.

Peach looked into the mirror, and then at Link, tilting her head a little. "What's wrong, Link? I thought you liked Princesses. Is it so bad to be one yourself?" She asked, all while gently rubbing her shoulder. "You can be honest with me, Link. If you really don't like it, I can ask the Toads and see if we can arrange something to change you back."

It truly didn't seem like anything malicious. And while Link honestly wasn't sure about all of this, hearing Peach's voice, seeing herself look just like the Princess as they both stood with their reflections displayed in the mirror, and hearing how her own voice was starting to gain that regal air... Was it really that bad? If anything, she could now show Zelda what it would be like to be a proper Princess.

"...C-Could you help me wear that dress you picked out, Peach?" Link didn't even really notice it, but she had started to call Peach by her name instead of by her title. Seeing her as an equal, and not as a Knight would the one she served...

Peach nodded with that ever-soft smile, as she carefully walked around the former Hero as she helped her put on every little piece of that dress. The gloves, the stockings, the heels, and the dress itself went on with so much ease. As if every little piece was meant for Link. As if she was meant to wear this from the very beginning. In fact, the dress seemed tailored to her body with such tender accuracy that there was no way that it was a coincidence. Had she...

No, there was no way that Peach was responsible. Link was sure of it. Peach was the model Princess. Somebody that she wanted to try and emulate with her new role as a Princess. Even if it felt a little wrong to admit this, it also felt so right. So much so that Link instinctively pushed the worried feelings into the back of her mind, fully accepting her new self as she twirled in front of the mirror.

"How do you feel, Link?" Peach asked, chuckling a little as she looked in the mirror. All while admiring the girl that had once been a Hero. A girl that now looked so much like her that they were almost twins. Well, if not for the subtle traits that made it clear that Link was still from another world. But an extended stay in this world would change that.

Link took a deep breath, before chuckling just like Peach did. "I feel better than ever, Peach. But we've not had our tea yet, we've gotten so distracted by helping me find who I'm supposed to be, that we forgot all about the tea!" Just like Peach, Link didn't bother dwelling on what was clearly the past. What mattered was the present. And indeed, they had forgotten all about the tea!

"Goodness! Oh, but that's quite alright. How about we go for a little walk around the Kingdom, while we wait for our tea to be ready? I'm sure that there's a few sights that you would love, Link!" Peach brushed off her own surprise as she reached for her fellow Princess' hand, not offering her hand like she would to a Knight, but outright trying to take it.

An action that Link returned with a smile of her own. "I'd love to see them all with you, Peach. Maybe you could teach me a little more about what it means to be a Princess?" She asked, and Peach couldn't help but chuckle in return. Even after she had become a Princess, she was still so curious.

But that's what Peach liked about her. That's what Peach loved about her dearest friend, Princess Link…
