[Roboticization, Purification, Minionization]
"Just so we're clear. You've agreed to everything that'll happen to you. Your body, your mind, your every action is property of Titan Industries, once you go through this process. You are still entirely free to back out of this process, should you be discomforted by these conditions."
"Don't worry about me. I just want to help people. And as much as your boss has a bad rep amongst the Hero community, it's the only road I see that'll let me get her out of trouble."
Deep within the depths of Titan Industries, the same depths were Titan Drones were being produced using the various Heroes that had been captured or turned towards the company's cause, were two unlikely individuals. One was the former Heroine Magmaiden, now the slick obsidian Villainess and loyal employee of Titan Industries, Obsidious. The other was a newcomer who she had once fought alongside, who now wanted to tap into the power and the abilities that Titan could grant her.
"I do not understand why you decided to come here in the first place." Obsidious said, as she carefully tapped away at a digitized keyboard, while looking at the girl laying within a mold, like one of the ones that she had once been trapped in before she was given her logical mindset and logical goal. "You had heard of what happened to Heroes like you and me. And yet you still came. Knowing what might happen. It's for that reason that I offered you this deal and gave you the chance to disappear instead. But why?"
The girl laying in that mold just smiled. She had short blue hair, a set of goggles with eletric wiring printed on the sides, and a suit that was covered in it as well. Her name, according to the files that Obsidious had access to as well as her memory as a former Hero, was Short Circuit. But her actual name was Eve, a name that she had been given by her religious caretaker, the same name she still treasured to this day even though she had turned away from religion and towards eletronics. "I dunno, you tell me. You've got all that data, you can figure it out." She chimed, not wanting this to be easy. Mostly because she wanted another chat or two with one of the Heroes she had once fought alongside.
Obsidious just rolled her eyes for a moment as she paged through the mass amount of data available to her. Letting the dim light of the hardlight surface illuminate her jet black body, and the incredibly efficient secretary's outfit covering her hard form. Ever since she had been cooled off inside that form, she prioritized efficiency and professionalism over all else. And yet this was one of the few times where she decided to let her humanity drive her yet again, after she had seemingly lost it. "If you insist, I'll play along." She muttered, before bringing up several screens that showed off a ton of data.
"Hero Name, Short Circuit. Orphaned at Age 1, adopted by Trinity Nunnery and raised as a Nun. A few days after your departure during adulthood, the Nun that had raised you snapped and awakened powers of a Villain, causing her to violently twist their minds to her own benefit. This individual has erased all traces of their former name out of shame, redubbing herself Mind Mistress and serving as one of the pillars of Villainy currently raised within Trinity City." Obsidious read off the data on her screens, before raising a slight eyebrow as she looked at the blue-haired girl laying comfortably in the open form. "Am I to understand that all of this is to deal with your former maternal figure?"
"Maternal-slash-love interest." Eve said, tapping one of the screens as it fizzled for but a moment, sending her own biological data through it as every screen now showed off several intimate moments between the two. "As much as she's been able to raise me, she's only a few years older than me. So while she spent a good time as my 'Mom', by the time that I started leaving, we were basically siblings. And that's why I think she snapped. Because of the pressure put upon the Nunnery by external forces. What happened to all the others, I'm not sure, but if we end up fixing her, then we can find them as well." She said, before stretching a bit as she pulled her goggles up, revealing the electrical circuits inside her irises. A sign of her power, not of external modifications. "I just want her to smile again, you know? I don't really care about all the others, they never cared about me. But I want her to smile. I want her to be good again."
Obsidious nodded. She understood what it meant to pine after another. It was what had led her to becoming her current self. "Very well. Though I cannot guarantee that your psyche remains intact or in its proper state after your conversion, I can guarantee that you keep that goal in mind. You will be focused on turning her into a Hero, regardless of the methods you may need to use." She explained, a slight smile curving at the ends of her lips. "One last time. Are you absolutely sure that this is the route you wish to take? You can still leave with your heart untouched by Titan. I cannot guarantee what may happen after your conversion starts."
"If I knew how to fix her without your or Titan's help, then I would've done so in a heartbeat. I can't do it with my powers. All I can do is mess with circuits and with electronics. Hardlight too, 'cause its just a projection of some electronic nonsense." Eve replied, before sighing and laying perfectly still inside the mold. "I need this, Obsidious. Make sure that I can get through to her, then I'll do anything that Titan needs me to do."
That two-sided determination. Accepting Villainous methods to save somebody close to her. Did that make the Hero a Villain? Somebody might say so. Obsidious' logical mind even agreed as much, since the line between the two was very clear cut. But her heart, which was still burning hot inside that cold shell she had become, disagreed. "Very well. Sleep, Short Circuit. When you awaken, you will be an asset invaluable not only to Titan, but my plans as well."
Eve nodded as the mold started to close around her, compressing her inside the form that was a bit bigger than she was. All while the sounds around her started to get drowned out, courtesy of the sound of something rushing into the mold instead.
"I didn't expect you to cut a deal like that. Are you taking after me, or are you trying to plan ahead so you can betray me before I betray Titan?"
Obsidious quietly looked over her shoulder as she noticed a familiar looking white-haired woman, the Villain that had helped turn her into this logical minded Villain. Inside Trader. "Hardly. I'm reinforcing our odds." She said with a sharp tone, as she took a comforting seat on top of that mold. All while a steady flow of mercury-like liquid poured in through the top.
"Looks to me like you're just making another drone for Titan. Not that it ends up ruining our plans, far from it, but it doesn't seem to me like you're adding another card to our hands." Inside Trader replied, taking a quiet sip from a cup of coffee that she had brought. "Do explain."
Obsidious nodded as she grabbed one of the hacked screens, her hand briefly igniting as she let her true power manifest once more, burning away the data that Short Circuit had poured into it and replacing it with a diagram of the drone she was making. Each pointing out a particular strength that had been graceously donated by the various Heroes and Villains that were in Titan's employ, just like the other Titan Drones. With one key difference near the heart and the brain. Neither had any new input, unlike the unified thoughts that were given to the standard unit.
"...You're saying you're leaving this up to her entirely. That's not very logical, now is it?" Inside Trader said, a sly smirk emerging on her face. This was exactly why she had gone through the trouble of letting her join her. Because her way of thinking was fresh and exciting.
Obsidious nodded. "As long as we keep our side of the deal. As long as we accomodate for her and the one she desires, we will have a steadfast ally. And should we be able to increase the effectiveness of her power, then we will be able to turn all the drones against Titan when the time comes. All of this has been logically calculated and assessed. Just as you'd like it to be."
Inside Trader just smiled, as she put a hand on the mold while the freezing cold liquids that were supposed to condition the Hero poured in through the top. The process had been quick, and it was almost time to see her in action...
Now, could she succeed, and keep her end of the bargain..?
---
"All this should just disappear!"
The sound of destruction echoed across Trinity City, as a good deal of Heroes were faced with one of their strongest and most dangerous opponents. Each of them paled in comparison to the power of the Mind Mistress, whose psychic powers not only dominated the mind, but the mind also allowed her to dominate the world around her.
The Villain hovered far up above in the iar. Wearing a bodysuit that had the stars, representing the individual thoughts inside the brain, printed on them and on the insides of her cape as well. Her current tanned skintone was not the one she had been born with, but rather one that had come about thanks to how she abused her powers. She had once been completely pure. But she charred herself when she went berserk. And though she could fix herself, she didn't intend to. She kept it as a scar, just like she kept her hair pitifully short as it had gone up in smoke just like her heart and her purity...
Meanwhile, on the ground below, the Heroes that were currently available to try and fight back against her weren't exactly the kind that could really do anything. Mostly because they were low tier, aside from one that was shouting violently to try and counteract the massive pressure put upon her by the psychic powers bearing down.
"MIND MISTRESS! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" The violent redhead, the Infernoble Knight, cried out as she tried to manifest two mighty flaming greatswords. Even if she didn't have the same kind of destructive power as the mighty psychic up above, she wasn't about to give in just because she was powerless. "I'LL BURN AWAY YOUR SUPERIORITY AND CLAIM IT AS MY OWN!"
Her fellow pyro-aligned Hero, Ember, was pressed flat against the pavement. This was a fight that was way outside of her weight class, and yet she just couldn't turn away. "Elizabeth! You're not getting through to her with anger! Just try to fight her and make her see things that way!" She cried out. Well, it wasn't like she was going to be any help either way, she could only really make a single flame and that was about it. At best she was moral support in this fight.
"BUTT OUT OF IT! NOBODY TELLS ME WHAT TO DO!" Infernoble Knight cried out, only for another wave of pressured psychic power to hit her, causing her to go flying straight into another building, cursing right up until the moment she finally left her allies' line of sight.
An unlikely ally, a nearly-bald ponytailed man wearing little except for half a gi and showing off the swords tattooed across his body, grit his teeth a bit as he kept himself standing using the blade buried in the pavement. "This blade is proving its worth more than I'd expect..." The man, the Saint of Swords, was nominally classified as a Villain. However, the Mind Mistress' actions led him to stand against her, because the destruction she wrought would end up bringing an end to his search for swords that could match his strength. Since they'd all be broken, which was why he stood against her. And yet due to his intense focus on close combat encounters, there was no way that he could get all the way up there.
Finally, the last member of the current resistance was a girl dressed much like the mythical Cupid, only with a gothic twist. Using her wings as support, the gothic love-chaser cried out in constant pain as she looked up at the Mind Mistress in the sky, one hand covering one of her eyes. "The curse of my loving Pact is running wild! And yet! And YET! It cannot reach her or her tormented heart! If only it could reach, then we could see her praising the love she had been trying to run away from!" She was the Pactmaker, another neutral party since she preferred to solve disputes between the two sides using her love and her ability. Which mostly manifested in her speaking like a chuunibyou and making it sound like it was more effective.
Ember sighed a bit as she dug her heels in. Every other Hero in the whole city were busy with something, and the Villains were more than happy enough to see this place get completely and utterly trashed. Because then they could just keep doing what they did best. What were they going to do to turn this around..?
Just as it felt like they were going to be overwhelmed, the three 'Heroes' were joined by a set of mechanical bodies that flew against the psychic pressure, their bodies radiating a different kind of energy to suppress the pressure and give the 'Heroes' a moment to breathe. Not that they were too terribly thrilled thanks to the identity of the ones that had saved them.
It was a squad of Titan Drones. Roughly twenty or so of them. Each of them completely identical, down to the way that they pushed back against the psychic influence. Even if they could stand out, they chose not to. Because that was not in their programming. Their programming told them to obey orders, and their orders were currently to suppress the influence of the Villain hovering above in the sky.
"Stay behind us, Heroes." One of the Titan Drones spoke, its head swiveling around as its feminine eyes looked upon the three that remained behnd it. "Titan Drone Squad Theta will keep you safe until more help arrives. Remember to thank Titan for our assistance." The canned shilling was probably one of the most aggrivating parts about being saved by them, considering what Titan already had a reputation for.
The Saint of Swords slowly stood up properly, frowning as he saw the blade beneath him shatter. He performed a brief but poignant prayer, before looking to his two allies. "I implore you both, flee. I will use one of these drones as a temporary weapon, and make my way up there. The Mind Mistress will be brought from her heavenly throne, and we can resume our personal agendas." He offered to keep fighting, even if it offered no direct benefit to him. "You may also consider retrieving the Knight who was launched away. Her anger does not seem to have been quelled."
Ember shook her head as she looked upon the man with swords tattooed across his body. "You can't handle her. I don't think any of us can. As much as I don't like types like you, I wouldn't want you to go out in a blaze of glory against an opponent that cared this little for you." The kind and weak Heroine said as she bowed in front of him. "As for Elizabeth, she's..."
"MIND MISTREESSSSS!" The building that Infernoble Knight had been launched was suddenly consumed by righteous flames as it was turned into little more than an enormous pile of ashes as she suddenly took off into the skies above, entirely powered by her own rage and the flames that fueled them. "YOU'RE MIIIIINE!"
All three 'Heroes', as well as the Drones that protected them, watched as the raging Heroine tried to pierce through the pressure of all that psychic power. And it actually seemed like she might pierce through, as the flames burned away as the waves of pure energy that were pouring out from the Villain.
"A-Ahhh! Look upon the mighty flames of pure emotion bursting forth from Infernoble Knight's body! When empowered by nothing but those longing flames, she'll be able to torch the Villain's heart and let my curse soar forth! All I need is just one moment!" Pactmaker cried out as she sudden manifested a single thorned heart arrow, taking aim as Infernoble Knight started to get closer and closer to the Villain in the sky.
Mind Mistress' reaction to the girl creeping closer yet closer to her, despite the sheer power she was exerting over the world around her... It was simply to grab her the second she came too close, her eyes staring straight through the Heroine's and into her soul. "BEGONE!" She shouted, her words reverberating through the Heroine's body as she obeyed that single command. And instead of charging towards the Villain, Infernoble Knight was sent on a crash course with the Heroine that was trying to aim at a safe distance towards the tanned Villain.
Pactmaker, as well as Ember, were noticably shocked by this sudden turn of events. Both were utterly unprepared for dealing with a version of Infernoble Knight that was direct towards them, since neither of them had very offensive powers that they could use for defense. They clung to one another like their lives were in incredible danger, all while the Saint of Swords reached for the broken blade, aiming to wring one last good swing out of it..!
"HUMAN CIRCUITRY!"
None of them managed to make a move. Because another Titan Drone had flown in, this one managing to not only safely collide with the runaway Heroine, but within a few seconds disable her and make her safely collapse on the ground as a bit of steam poured off her body. Infernoble Knight had been put out, leaving the three would-be-victims to look upon their savior.
At a glance, the one that had saved them looked like any other Titan Drone. But the devil was in the details. Instead of the same obedient and rule-abiding look in her eyes, this one had clear blue hopeful eyes, while the rest of her body was given a couple of extra blue lines to make her appear sleeker and more up to date. Combine that with the power she just utilized, and she seemed... Familiar...
The Saint of Swords briefly bowed before their saviour, drawing the broken blade from the ground. Instead of having to hurt this blade further, he could preserve its last memory for the time being, as it was absorbed onto his body as another tattoo.
Pactmaker had passed out. Not because of fear. But out of the sheer rush that her heart had just endured. That would also explain how her eyes had turned into hearts, as she had now felt a brand new crush forming within her heart. It'd take a while before she'd regain consciousness, and by that point she'd probably have to hunt her down...
Ember blinked a couple of seconds as she took it all in. "...Short Circuit? Is that you?" She asked, lighting her flame for a bit of comfort. It was barely the size of her finger, but it helped her keep calm in situations as charged as these. Especially when faced with a Hero who seemed to have willingly converted herself into one of Titan's drones...
The drone shook her head. "It's Circuit Breaker now, Ember. I'm better than I once was. And I'll put a stop to Mind Mistress!" The drone that had once been the hero Short Circuit cried out as she started to hold out her hands, causing her forearms to open up and reveal a set of expanding circuitry. "Theta Squad! Increase output! I'm going in for docking!"
"Command received. Output increased." The Theta-stamped Titan Drones cried out in unison as their inner energies intensified, making an even greater field of repression that pushed away the psychic powers that were trying to bear down on the other Heroes. All while Circuit Breaker's ankles started to open just like her forearms had, showing off several powerful boosters that let her jet down this path!
Mind Mistress trembled as she felt the pressure brought on by the presence of somebody too familiar to her. So much so that her psychic powers were ever so briefly disrupted. "E-Eve... EVE! DON'T COME NEAR!" She shouted as her emotions wavering lasted for but a single moment until they erupted with even greater intensity, letting her try and suppress the presence of the other Drone that wanted to come closer.
Circuit Breaker was being pushed back by the intense stream of psychic energy. Yep, this was definitely her old maternal figure. This was what she always did. In fact, she had done this while they were still young. She had tried her best to try and push everyone away because she didn't want people to get involved. Even after she had helped raise the young girl.
But all of that was just a big cry for help. Just like it had been this time. Even if she was tearing the world apart in her fury, in her grief and her stress... It would be possible for her to get close. She just needed to make contact, then she could fix all of this..!
"GO AWAY! YOU'RE THE REASON WHY I FEEL THIS WAY!" Mind Mistress shouted, as the buildings underneath her started to pull themselves apart and get pulled closer to the panicking and grieving Villain. "YOU LEFT ME! AND NOW YOU'RE TRYING TO MAKE ME WORSE BY COMING BACK! WHY DID YOU LEAVE!? WHY, EVE?!"
This was how she had always been. Lashing out despite her own actions. Lashing out despite her own inaction. She was one giant bundle of emotions that could never come to terms. And while she had been able to keep herself in order while Eve was there, she had finally snapped once she left. Tearing everything apart because she was ultimately just one big bipolar girl with no real control over her powers or herself. Which was why she destroyed everything that she came close to. It was why she was the Mind Mistress. because the Mind in all of its fragility was the mistress of her body...
Circuit Breaker's way of breaking through was to take advantage of all the rocks that were now flying towards the Villainess. She landed on one of these rocks that were being attracted to the Villainess, using it to get closer while getting none of the worse effects of the pressure in the process. Because her powers had difficulty making a distinction between two different objects that were closely stuck to one another, she was interpreted to be an extension of the rock, causing her to be pulled closer and closer.
Right up until she was close enough to see eye-to-eye with the tanned Villainess, who just started to scream violently as she laid her eyes on the drone that housed Eve's heart. "GO AWAY! I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT YOU, YOU'LL JUST LEAVE ME ALL ALONE AGAIN!" The violent moodswinger cried out as she started trying to fling the rocks away, in one last desperate attempt to be relieved of this terrible presence...
Only for Circuit Breaker's hands to grasp ahold of her cheeks, and a single shock to pour through her body in that very moment. Her powers were still violently active, for sure, but they weren't aimed at causing destruction to the world around her. Instead, they were aimed completely inward.
"Human Circuitry." Circuit Breaker grinned, as the circuits pouring out of her arms started to wrap around and dig into the Villain. "Sorry about this, Thea. I didn't want to end up having to do this, but you leave me no choice. Once I'm done, you'll see that everything's much better than you've always thought."
The Mind Mistress, formerly known as Thea before her mind tore itself apart and left her endlessly raging, was forced to use her enormous psychic reserves on herself. But instead of hurting her, they instead showed her kind visions of the future. This was one of the abilities that had actually been able to drive her utterly and completely mad. Her ability to see the future.
But instead of seeing all the pain and the misery that had driven her to this point. She saw Eve. She saw Eve hugging her. She saw Eve petting her. She saw Eve bringing her home. She saw Eve baking her a cake. She saw Eve straddling her. She saw Eve kissing her. She saw Eve loving her. She saw Eve. She saw Eve. She saw Eve..!
Circuit Breaker had hijacked her powers and forced her to see all the possible futures that could always end up happy. Futures where she wouldn't have to worry about a single thing. Futures where they were together once more. But there was one key thing about all of them. It wasn't just that she was happy to be alongside Eve. It was that she was the submissive in the relationship. Despite all the power in the psychic monster that had just gone ham on the city, the only way she could be happy would be if she let all of that power be suppressed, and act as the support of somebody so much weaker than her.
"A-Ahh... A-Ahnnn!" Mind Mistress cried out as her eyes started to flash rapidly. The many visions of a happy life were overloading her brain. She wanted all of them to come true. But she knew better. She knew that they couldn't. Because she wasn't allowed to have a happy life. She had done so much bad already. And if Eve kept trying to leave her, she would just cause more problems as her mind went berserk again. And yet... And yet..!
All these wonderful visions were causing her legs to grind against one another. She wanted them to be true! She wanted to have a life where she didn't have to worry about anything. Just being by her dear Eve's side! Being by her side and being there for her at all times! Being her loving, adorable wife. She had grown so close to her, from taking care of her like a mother to acting like a close older sister. That relationship had buried into her heart and allowed love to take hold, and it was love that ultimately drove her this mad..!
"You can have all that, Thea!" Circuit Breaker cried out with a happy tone and confidence pouring through her voice. "You can make that future your own! You can be who you want to be, you just have to believe in it! And if you don't want to believe in yourself, then believe in me! Believe in Circuit Breaker, who wants you to be hers and hers alone!"
Mind Mistress let out a powerful yell... As her powers suddenly died down, and she went limp in her former friend, family and love's arms. It was like she had been completely fried by that powerful future, unable to process it all. She just remained there, perfectly still...
The ones below watched carefully, even the Titan Drones seemed intrigued by this development. The Saint of Swords merely watched, and Ember held her hands close to her chest, wondering if this had all come to a good conclusion...
"It's okay, Thea. I know you're trying to hide." Circuit Breaker said, as she smiled and wrapped her arms fully around the powerful psychic instead of just holding her by the cheeks. "But it's okay. You can come out. Not as the dangerous Mind Mistress. But as my sweethearted wife. My sweethearted sidekick. I'll make sure that they'll accept you. Trust me, Thea..."
Slowly but surely, the tanned Villain's eyes started to open... And her powers tore her apart in what seemed to be a split second. Leaving nothing within the drone's arms.
Not to worry. Because Thea had reformed at her side. Wearing little more than a leotard and a loving apron that emphasized her shapely form and massive bust as her fair skin had returned to normal. A single long purple ponytail reached all the way down to her ankles, her hair braided just like her newly restored bond with the drone.
"I trust you, E... Circuit Breaker." The former Villain said, her eyes having taken upon a circuit-like design just like the 'Hero' that had shown her the peaceful futures that she could achieve. Sure, this probably counted as some form of hacking her brain and making her obey commands not unlike a Villain, but... It was a good result.
"Good. Then I'll keep you by my side forever more, Mental Connection." Circuit Breaker redubbed her new lover, sidekick, sister and anything else she might consider her. Not only a useful tool to allow her powers to reach further, but somebody that she would remain connected to. Forever and ever...
The Titan Drones quietly offered applause on the ground. Their prototype successor had managed to subdue the Villain and earn another asset for Titan Industries. And the two that they had protected both seemed satisfied in their own way, with Ember just sighing with deep relief.
The Saint of Swords nodded. Just as he would, she had claimed a steadfast ally and companion by taking matters into own hands. Now he just needed to do the same, and find the blade that would be able to endure his strength.
And as everything came to a happy end, Obsidious watched from afar, a soft and logical smile on her lips. Everything had gone according to plan. Circuit Breaker would now serve her loyally, and Mental Connection would serve as another chip in hers and Inside Trader's plans.
Now, to continue laying out the logical conclusion to all of these plans.
