[Love Brainwashing]

“So, Dyson, let me understand this before we get started.”

“Of course, Margaret. What don’t you understand? I can try to explain it as plainly as possible, I can go as in depth as you need, or I can try to boil it down to what the essential goal is.”

“No, I get all of that. What I want to understand is WHY do you want to try and harness the power of love? What exactly are we going to accomplish by trying to tap into something that doesn’t actually exist?”

“Aaaah. Okay, that. Well…”

Two scientists found themselves standing within a simple room, long after their lab should’ve closed for the night. Because one of them had successfully strong armed the other into joining them for the time being, despite the fact that they were both working off the clock and wouldn’t earn a penny for their time.

The more excited of the two was Professor Dyson, the younger of the pair and an up-and-coming genius. Dressed in a simple labcoat with his brown hair neatly brushed despite his profession, his enthusiasm and bright-eyed interest in fields left unexplored by his peers was infectious. Specializing in the research and use of formless energies that were made from concepts that humans understood, he had theorized and successfully turned hate into a rather efficient power source, and now he aimed to do it to other emotions.

The less excited of the two was Professor Margaret. His direct superior and the older of the pair by a good decade. Compared to him, she preferred to take things at a different speed to the point where she tied her lab coat around her waist and let her long red hair hang down to her hips. After seeing what he was capable of, she invited him to her lab as an assistant before having him promoted to a direct partner. An act that she regretted to this day, because as it turns out, having a prodigy with strange yet wide-reaching ideas as a partner means that they’ll pester you at any hour when they start making a breakthrough.

“Okay, so. You know what I did with hate? Used the self-fueling nature of the emotion to make a perpetual energy machine?” Dyson started talking, and his partner quietly nodded as he brought over a whiteboard. “Turning that emotion into energy was easy. But love? Much more difficult. And yet the reward is all the more enticing.”

Margaret lightly pinched the bridge of her nose, sighing. “Right. Where are you going with this? What can love be used for? It’s kind of limitless, so you’re not going to make another source of infinite energy.”

“Exactly. That’s not what I want to do.” The shorter professor explained before quickly sketching a figure of the earth, dotting it with several small hearts. “We, or the Human Race to be more specific, all have somebody we love. And that love can take many forms that cause us to do many different things. Especially when we, get this, are jealous towards another kind of love.”

“Get to the point, Dyson.”

“I want to harness Love so we can stabilize it and funnel it to those that need it, so we achieve Peace on Earth. It’s going to be extremely difficult, and just researching the emotion’s going to take months if not years, but that’s what I want to put all of my energy towards.” Dyson finished, clearing his throat a little. “A-And it’d mean a certain somebody would be nice enough to admit her feelings for me.”

Margaret sighed a little as she blushed. Damnit, he still harbored that crush on her. Of course he did, she wasn’t exactly unattractive. And she had shown great interest in his previous projects. It’s just that there was no way that love belonged in a lab. Much less the workplace in general. “Right. World Peace. How are you sure it’s going to work?” She had to play the skeptic. Otherwise nobody would.

“I don’t. But science wasn’t built on people not knowing. It’s built on people trying, and then figuring out why. And I trust you’ll help me, Margaret.” Dyson admitted as he held out his hand towards his older partner, nervously laughing as he rubbed the back of his head.

She took his hand without hesitation, grinning a little. “I can let you mess around a bit, after that stunt with all that Hate.” She said as she let go of his hand, looking back at the whiteboard. “Now, where do we start…”

Dyson smiled in turn, before he started rattling off several types of love that they needed to experiment with…

---

“Okay. Remind me, Dyson?”

“Yes, Margaret?”

“I never want to let you do something like this ever again. Because if this cocks up, we’ve literally got nothing to show for it.”

“Isn’t that part of science? Having to start over from scratch with new knowledge?”

The two scientists found themselves in the same lab that they had always used. But now, there was a big machine sitting in the back, one that quietly hummed along as several thousand tubes were attached to it.

“It is, but haven’t you realized how hard it was to harness all this love? How hard it was to get volunteers? How much we straddled the law to try and get ahold of this? Goodness sake, we had to get ahold of an actual murderer for one of these kinds of love!” Margaret raised her voice as she started listing off the problems that they had gone through, before collapsing into her chair. “Let’s just get this over with. I don’t want to deal with another headache-inducing interview with somebody morally apprehensive in the next year.

Dyson nodded as he looked back at the massive machine that he had designed. It would drain all of these types of love into one big ball, and then it would perpetually replicate all the types of love that it was fed. With any luck, he could mass produce the kind of love that made the world passive, and they would achieve the peace that he desired.

It all took a single push from his remote, and the machine would turn on. But he turned towards his red-haired partner and smiled as he came closer. “Let’s do the honors. Together.”

“You’re still to blame if this goes wrong.” Margaret replied as she held the remote together with him, smiling slightly as she pushed the button to turn on the machine.

The machine immediately jittered to life, the many containers that held the various types of love slowly getting sucked in as a bright pink ball was visibly swirling inside. It grew and grew bit by bit as the various loves were sucked in, increasing in size at a steady pace.

“You better be writing notes.” Margaret said as she turned her head towards Dyson, only to notice that he was buried in his notepad. “Of course.” She muttered, smiling a little. This was when he was at his best. When he was completely devoted to his craft. Leaving her to be the main spectator to what occurred inside the machine.

She had been through a lot these past months. There were so many small ordeals and events that she had to endure to try and achieve their combined dream. And she had to admit, she wouldn’t have gone along with this if she didn’t have some sort of affection for the lad.

But despite everything they had gone through, he had stayed by her side all this time. Well, whenever he could. They did get separated and kidnapped that one time, but that just gave them the ingredients they needed to cover Lima and Stockholm Syndrome for the machine. The feelings they held for one another were strong enough to endure a bit of absence that they couldn’t control.

Speaking of not being able to control, something was definitely wrong with the energy swirling around inside the machine. For one, it was way bigger than it was supposed to be. Like the size of the entire machine. How did it get so big? For that matter, how much more love did it need to absorb before it was done..?

“Uhhh… Dyson? Eyes on the machine, we’ve got a problem.” Margaret spoke up as she turned towards her partner, who was still busy writing things down on his notepad. “Oh, come on, you have to focus NOW!” She shouted as she yanked the notes out from his hand, tossing them aside because there was something a bit more important right in front of them.

As soon as she yanked it, Dyson adjusted his glasses and immediately felt his heart sinking as he noticed what was going on. “That is… That’s…” He muttered before his eyes started to brighten. “Better than expected, this is exactly what I hoped for! Love self-multiplying to sustain itself until the very end!”

Before Margaret had a chance to admonish him for what he said, the machine came to an abrupt stop. The lights turned off. Everything seemed to die. And yet the love energy continued to swirl around in there, continuing perpetually with no end in sight.

“Amazing… Amazing! We’ve done it, Margaret! We’ve managed to make Love!” Dyson shouted with excitement brimming from every word. “We have to test it out! We have to make sure that it does everything I theorized!”

“As much as I’d like to share your sentiment… We’re about to have a few problems.” Margaret said as she pointed towards the pink sphere… Which was starting to seep out through the machine’s cracks, swallowing all the remaining love in the process.

Both of the scientists stepped back as to not be consumed by the sphere made of pure love, watching with a mixture of awe and worry as it came to a stop straight in front of them.

Just looking at it for longer than recommended was enough to make their hearts beat heavily against their chests. It was like any love inside them was being overcharged just by the presence of that love… Which by all accounts made sense, they just weren’t ready for it.

As their hearts beat along to the drumbeat of love, the lovely energy swirled into the shape of a cartoonish heart, before it expanded further into the shape of a proper humanoid. A long-haired pink-colored humanoid with a bright halo and a pair of wings that were curved in such a way that it looked like they were about to form a heart at the tip. A proper angel of love, made manifest through the massive amount of pure love…

Of course, while she was a rather large and engrossing presence, there was another thing that stood out about the massive energy construct. Namely the fact that she was stacked. To go with that extremely feminine form, she had a massive bosom that you could get lost inside, which even drooled a bit of what looked to be love-flavored milk, as well as a pair of hips that would make for the perfect set of supports for a long night of passion. And she was completely naked too! She didn’t even bother with any sort of modesty, then again she was made out of love itself and love wasn’t exactly a modest emotion most of the time.

“Aaaahh… Ehehehehe…” The angelic energy construct giggled as she stretched slightly. The fact she could speak in the first place was astonishing, because it meant that the energy itself was sentient. But the giggling was worrying. That implied some lesser level of intelligence… Which could spell danger. Nobody wanted a ditz with no regard for people’s safety to be in charge of that much volatile emotion.

Dyson pushed up his glasses, only to take them off as he realized that he had fogged them up completely. “A-Ah, excuse me! Can you understand us? Can you hear us? Can you perceive us? Wave at us if you can!” The scientist asked several questions, and the massive construct waved down at him in response. “Good, good! Excellent!”

Margaret stared up at the angel made of love and she felt a few droplets run down the side of her face. There was something extremely worrying about her presence. “Hey. Angel. What are you going to do, now that you have sentience?” She asked a very important question. Because if her goals didn’t align with theirs.

“What am I going to do?” The love-construct said as she slowly tapped her chin, tilting her head left and right as she pondered the concept. She even played a bit with her hair as she tried to understand the question, that long mane reaching all the way down to her thighs. “Weeeellll…. I want to see everyone love each other. So I guess I’m gonna go make everyone love! That sounds about right!”

Margeret clicked her tongue and lightly nudged her partner, causing Tyson to snap out of his excitement and register what the oversized angel had just said. “W-Wait, hold on, uhm, there’s a problem with that. Recklessly spreading love might cause a lot of problems for the people around the world! They won’t be prepared to turn from enemies to lovers or from friends to lovers or anything. I-It’d be best if you work with us and distribute that love equally, so we don’t end up with issues like these.”

“Why?” The love-construct asked as she tilted her head. “People should just love. Don’t worry about anything else but love. Love, love, love!” She giggled, her giggling causing something to slowly waft from her lower body. Something mist-like that was just as pink as the rest of her.

Neither of the scientists understood what the mist was, but they knew that it wasn’t good for them. They quickly shielded their mouths to try and buy them some time, but as it started to make contact with their bodies, their eyes quickly grew dim as something powerful overwhelmed their minds. Something that they were familiar with…

It was their love for one another. Almost immediately after the feeling inside their hearts started to burn, they turned towards one another. And this time, unlike any other time, Margaret was the one to make the first move.

The older woman grabbed her younger partner and put his head down on her lap, slowly running her hand through his hair. “You reckless fool, you emotional loon… I can’t believe that I fell for somebody like you. To think that you could pull me along and make me feel this way… Ehehehe…”

“Like you’re any better, Margaret… Ehehehe…” Dyson chimed as he looked up at her, his eyes already filled with hearts. “It’s because of how much praise you gave me when I was just starting out that I went this far. It’s all for you. Everything I’ve done is to earn your approval, your praise, your love… I’m glad you admitted it after so long.”

“Oh, you…” Margaret sighed as her heart beat so powerfully that it was impossible not to hear it. And her shorter lover’s heart beat just as loud as the two beat in tandem. Each of them didn’t need to say another thing, just idly staring into each other’s eyes in this loving position. They didn’t need anything else. Just one another, eternally locked in this moment of pure love.

The angelic construct smiled as she saw how wonderful the two acted after they had been filled with love and freed of all the responsibilities that held them back. This was how people were supposed to act! Utterly and completely filled with love! And they would never, ever, break away from this kind of behavior. Because this was their life. This was what they loved.

And since she had finished these two off, and they were definitely satisfied, she could feed off their love. It only made her grow a little, but it was enough that she started to phase through the ceiling, letting her see the loving stars above, causing her to giggle as the moon shined down on her.

There was so much love that she still needed to spread. And there were so many that still needed her guiding hand. She just needed to take off and let her love blanket the Earth, so they could all understand what it meant to love..!

---

The angel’s work was swift. Because she was made of a giant ball of energy, it was easy for her to rise all the way into the atmosphere, and once she was up there… Well, she could soak in the Sun and burn away. Or she could use the Sun’s love for the Earth to fuel her growth, as she grew bigger and bigger and bigger.

It didn’t take long before she had absorbed so much of that cosmic love that she couldn’t contain it. And when she couldn’t contain her own love, she had to spread it. What better way than to cover the entire Earth and become one with the Atmosphere, so the world would always feel her presence?

That was what she did. Of course, she could still exist as an angel… In fact, she split herself into so many smaller angels that would help spread her love. But from this point onward, the Sun’s rays would shrine through her. And from there, every little ray of light would end up bringing nothing but love to everyone down on the ground. Because that’s what they deserved.

Even though she had been made to be little more than a way for love to multiply, she had grown way beyond her scope. Not that she understood what that meant, nor what a scope actually was. She just knew that she had so much love to spare and so much time on her hands.

The only real way to spend her time, and the only thing that would make her happy, was seeing everyone just as obsessed with love as she was...

---

“I can’t believe you went out with her! What do you think you’re doing, cheating on your wife?”

“I’m trying to liven up my life! It’s been years since we’ve had fun with each other!”

“You absolute horrendous excuse for a man!”

A married couple, who had been together for at least a decade, were in the middle of doing the same thing they had done for months. Argue with one another over the ways that they tried to spice up their life. Which happened to be cheating. And this time it was the husband’s turn to do so, after his wife had been together with five guys the last weekend.

“I can’t believe you’d do something like that. I really can’t believe it.” The wife huffed as she walked towards the window, sighing as her husband followed behind her.

“I could say the same about you, remember what I came home to last week? I’m just playing by the same… same…” The husband tried to defend himself, only for one of the rays of light from the pink sky outside to hit him…

The wife looked at him with a raised eyebrow, confused with the way he started stuttering. “What’s the matter? Finally ran out of things to s… s…” She paused as she felt the full brunt of that very same kind of light, her body trembling as her heart started beating up against her chest.

Both of them looked at each other with renewed love for one another in their eyes, as the two weaved their fingers together. The husband pressed his wife against the window and locked lips with her, not even bothering to let a single word fly between them. There was no reason to worry about what they had done to get to this point.

All that mattered to the two lovers was that they were there for one another. And that they loved each other. That’s all that mattered. Nothing else in the whole world was as important as their love.

Ah, this was what they needed. Just to kiss and make up…

---

“Hey, has the sky always looked this weird?”

“Nope. This is new stuff. Hey! Boss! What do we do?”

“Quiet down you two. Where’s Lissa anyway?”

“Getting our drinks! She should be back in a few minutes!”

Standing in the middle of a park, having a bit of shade under one of the many trees, were three young individuals. A short gal and her two boy friends, the three noticing how the sky above had changed. And yet they were woefully unaware of just what was going to happen to them.

“Boooossss…”

As they waited for a moment, their remaining companion, a tall girl, arrived. And she didn’t have any drinks in hand. No, she was completely empty handed… And empty headed.

“Oi! Lissa! You were supposed to bring drink-” The short boss tried to shout at her underling, only for the tall girl to pick her up like nothing was wrong. “Lissa, listen to me! You can’t just treat me like a child because I’m-”

She didn’t get to finish, because her tall friend was too busy delivering a loving kiss right to her lips. A kiss that forced all the love that was inside the love-fueled girl’s body into the shorter girl, making her eyes turn into bright hearts just like the tall girl’s.

Both of the boys that served her watched this little bout of feminine love unfold, and their own eyes started to shift. Even just exposure to somebody else showing their loved ones love was enough to infect them, as they both turned to one another.

They always fancied each other, they were just afraid to mention it. Especially since they had both had girlfriends before, even if they were left completely unsatisfied with the relationships. But now that their boss and her friend were busy having a bit of fun with one another, who were they to resist?

The two boys wrapped their arms around one another and just stood there, enjoying their presence as they looked into their eyes. Letting the warmth of their bodies and the beats of their hearts do all the talking. Because they didn’t need anything else.

True love, born between four good friends. Ah, they kind of wanted to share it and see what other friends needed a bit of love…

---

Relationships like these were sprouting up all across the world. Former rivals were now kissing one another and admitting that their rivalries had been nothing more than dickwaving contests to try and see who ended up submitting first. Leaders that had previously wanted to send their countries into war were now enjoying the tension that came from being so close to one another. Even just families that had tried to split apart came back together, and brought the new lovers along. Because even if they had plenty of love for their old flames, they still loved their new partners. And it only made sense to keep them involved, making the family much larger in the process.

The ‘angel’ that had blessed them all could feel their love flowing into the atmosphere. She could feel herself growing even larger, giggling as she slowly but surely formed around the earth once more, hovering in space as she cupped that little planet…

She could feel all their love. And she wanted to repay them with more of it. She wanted to make sure that their love could be heard. And the only way that she could think of…

The angelic construct of love spread her wings as she started flying through space. Keeping Earth in her grasp, until she could find another world to share its love with. She even brought the sun with her, letting it serve as her loving core until she found what she was looking for.

This was the true power of love. An infectious feeling that would consume everything. All so that love would last forever. To think that it all started because a scientist just wanted to find a way to make everyone love each other so that conflict would never arrive.

At least Dyson was happy, looking into his beloved Margaret’s eyes until the very end...
