“Deltas, my dear, I have a little something to show you.”

It was supposed to be an ordinary day for the powerful lovers known as Gaia Grimwald and Deltas Danforth. Well, ordinary for people of their prestige could hardly be called ordinary when compared to a regular person’s day, but it was the thought that mattered most.

They were going to do what they always did. Take control of the world little by little, with the methods that they had available to them. But the short and stacked albino herself woke up and decided that today was a good day to show her dearest hubby a certain something, that she had been introduced to just a few weeks prior.

“Oh? You want to show me something, Gaia? Another one of your tricks to try and gain the upper hand, or a genuine gift?” Deltas asked, bringing a hand upon his wife’s cheek as he lightly pinched it. Just to make sure she was being genuine. “You know that we both don’t have time for your antics. As much as I enjoy them, and as much as I love to see you trying to trap my heart so you’re the only one who owns it.”

Gaia giggled despite the mild pain, putting a hand on the back of his. “You know me too well, my dear. But I’m not the one you need to focus on today. Far from it.” She said, as she slowly lifted it off her cheek and stepped closer to the other end of the room. “You’ve paid attention to the latest articles and data that Byakko’s been sending, yes? How she’s been developing long-range teleportation technology?”

“Oh, the papers that she always brings before I give her the care that you neglect her? No, I can’t say I’ve been reading through them. I’d rather spend my time getting nice and cozy with her, if you catch my drift.” The blonde youth said, grinning a little. He was only slightly teasing her, but he knew she loved that.

The white-haired woman twitched a little. “Please, don’t toy with them too much. You can have fun with them when they’re turned into drooling bimbos, but I still need them to do work. Especially my favorite pussycat.” She said, shrugging her shoulders a little. That silly kitten needed the stress relief he provided, so she had to thank him later.

“Haha, I’ll try to keep my hands off her. But I can’t promise that she won’t make the moves on me.” Deltas shot back, before leaning across his desk with his elbows resting atop. “So, what’re you getting at? Surely a simple teleporter, no matter how impressive it is, isn’t enough to warrant pulling my eyes away from your beautiful face.”

Gaia grinned as she clicked a button on her collar, the same collar adorned with her husband’s company’s logo, as a circle started to form in the middle of the expansive office. “Just watch, my dear. I’m sure you’ll be amazed, just as I was.”

The two watched carefully as the circle grew brighter and brighter, until a figure emerged from within, one that was almost even shorter than the albino woman herself. The light carefully faded away, revealing the one that had been transported to this busy office…

“...Eh? Eeeeehhh?”

The girl standing in the middle of the circle had sandy-blonde hair, and the outfit adorning her body could best be described as any common school uniform heralding from the japanese areas. The only thing that stood out about her was the strange belt around her waist, the cracked thing that seemed to be brimming with silent power.

“Where am I?” She asked, looking around as her mind struggled to catch up with this development. “Wasn’t I just going out to have ice cream with Yumeko and Agatha? Oh, oh no! I’m going to be late and Agatha’s going to be mad and this time it’s totally valid!” She cried out, totally more focused on what she had been doing than what was actually happening.

Deltas raised an eyebrow at the display, cute as it was, before his wife approached the young girl and cleared her throat. “Good afternoon, Mikai. I’m glad to see you again.” She said, a smile decorating her face.

The girl blinked a couple of times as she looked at the white-haired woman, the gears audibly grinding inside her head as she realized what was going on. “Oh! Miss Gaia! Why didn’t you call? I would’ve come over if you just asked, you didn’t have to… wait, how’d you get me here again?” She felt relieved, even if she was still confused. The nice lady she had talked with a while back was here after all.

“I’m sorry, I was busy. The teleporter was the best way to get ahold of you. I’ll have to compensate your friends for taking you away, but this was very important.” Gaia explained, before putting a hand on her head and slowly ruffling her hair. “You’re alright with that, right?”

Her sandy-blonde friend nodded rapidly, a bright and friendly smile making its way onto her face. “Of course! But, uh, this doesn’t look like your penthouse. The cracked glass isn’t here… Oh! Did they replace it and fix it? I’m sorry I broke it again, I got really confused, honest!” She said, a sheepish blush decorating her pleasant expression…

“I’m glad you two are getting along as swimmingly as you are, but I’m a little lost, my dear Gaia. Who is this, exactly? And why are you so excited to show her to me?” Deltas finally spoke up. He wasn’t lying either, he really did find the display cute. It was almost like she treated the girl like her daughter… Now that he thought about it, the two of them hadn’t had a child yet. They had to make arrangements, in the near future…

The young gal blinked a couple of times as she listened to the other rich and important person, looking over at the blonde and then back at the friendly white-haired lady and then back again. “That’s the guy you talked about when I came over? Your husband?” She asked, clever enough to pick up on context clues yet not much beyond that.

“Mmhm. That’s it. That’s my dear Deltas. The man who gave me everything, and the man who I love beyond anything in the whole wide world.” Gaia replied, giggling as she patted the girl on the back. “Why don’t you introduce yourself?”

Her guest nodded as she stepped forward, all the way over to the desk and reached out to grab the blonde man’s hand. “I’m Mikai! Mikai Fushimi!” She chimed, closing her eyes to emphasize her beautiful and cheerful grin.

“Mikai, mmm?” Deltas said, slowly letting the name roll off his tongue. “It’s a cute name. But if I recall correctly… Gaia, didn’t you mention a girl that had broken into your penthouse? The heroine that tried to take your life, but got talked down after you pointed out how little danger you actually posed?”

The youthful girl’s eyes widened a little, shaking her hands rapidly in protest. “Nononono, that’s not how it went! I was just really curious why that Atlas Corp place turned into Gaia Industries, and I had to find out! I ended up breaking in and meeting miss Gaia, and she gave me a scolding and made me fix the window. I didn’t try to kill her or anything!”

Gaia nodded as she approached the younger girl, ruffling her hair again. “Her honesty is why I wanted to show her to you, Deltas. She rubbed off on me with her smile and her way of thinking, and I thought you’d appreciate her just the same. After all…”

“...Why didn’t you show her to me sooner, Gaia?” Deltas interrupted his wife as he got up from his chair, shaking the younger girl’s hand with a smile of his own on his face. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mikai. I’m surprised that the girl she talked about was somebody as bright and naive as you. But that just emphasizes how adorable you are.”

Mikai giggled a little. “I’m not that naive, Mister Deltas.” The girl said, a little blush on her cheeks. Sure, she wasn’t smart either, but she tried. “Miss Gaia’s been trying to help me deal with that naive stuff, but it’s really hard! I don’t wanna just assume things when I meet new people! I wanna see what they’re like first!”

“Oh my goodness.” The blonde said as he circled around his desk after letting go of her hand, laughing a little. “You really think you can get far in this world with this kind of attitude, Mikai? No wonder my wife looked so happy when she talked about you, there’s nobody that would ever act this way if they knew just how dangerous the world was.”

Gaia nodded as she wrapped her arms around the younger girl’s waist, pulling her into a hug. “I’ve been trying to tell her that for weeks. But she keeps saying that it can’t be right, because no matter how much bad stuff I’ve shown her, she still clings to the good stuff I’ve done.”

“W-Well it’s a good thing you do good stuff! It means that even if you do bad stuff, you’re not completely heartless! Mister Deltas must be the same, because you said he did bad things to your old self before you became like this! And you love being like this, so clearly it’s a good thing, and…” Mikai tried to defend herself, until her eyes started spinning. Maybe she thought a little too much.

Deltas pulled his wife’s hands off the girl’s waist as he lifted her into his arms, laughing as she looked so confused. “Does she always get like this, Gaia? You didn’t start coddling a girl with learning problems, just because she was adorable. Riiiight?”

“I’m not bad at learning! I’m just not smart! There’s a difference!” The sandy-blonde girl cried out in protest, with both of the adults laughing at her. Not maliciously, more at how honest she was.

Deltas gave her a little peck on the cheek, before looking back at his wife. “Did you file all the necessary paperwork? Is that why you showed her to me?” He asked, with his wife giving an approving nod. “I see, I see…”

“Hm? What? What are you talking about, Mister Deltas?” Mikai asked, not at all bothered by the fact she barely knew him while he held her in his arms. “Did you two plan a thing? Are you going to be bad again, because I can transform and stop you and tell you that you’re not being the best you can be if you do!”

The blonde shook his head, before letting her down for a bit. “Of course not. Why would I want to be bad to my daughter-to-be? I may not be the most morally righteous, but I have my principles. And I wouldn’t harm a cute girl like you.” He explained, practically glossing over the most important part of that last spiel.

“Oh! Okay, guess I won’t have to transform into Mimoto!” The sandy-blonde said, before her mind caught up with the words that left the man’s mouth. “Wait, daughter-to-be? But I have parents! Sure, dad’s currently working overseas, but-”

Deltas patted the girl on the head before she finished, and then put a finger to her lips. “You do. But you deserve parents that’ll spoil you so much more. And don’t worry, we’ll make sure that your parents get the treatment that parents deserve.” He said, sounding juuuust a little malicious. “Besides, you like Gaia, don’t you? And you’re starting to like me too, right? Just consider me as Papa, and my dear wife as Mama. The rest’ll handle itself.”

“Hrrrrmmmm…” Mikai muttered as she rubbed her chin, the steam almost pouring out of her ears. She wasn’t really sure about this. Because she really did like her mom. But her mind, in a flash of brilliance, gave her just the idea she needed. “...I’m not gonna let you be my parents, not like that! Mom’s too precious to me! But, I can have more parents, right?”

Gaia could almost feel her heart cracking from the sheer amount of naivete pouring off the girl. “Of course you can, Mikai. Of course you can. Mama and Papa’ll be here when you want somebody else to take care of you, and your Mom will stay perfectly safe. Isn’t that right, Deltas?”

“Mmhm. That’s right. Papa’ll make sure you grow up to be the perfect little girl, and he won’t touch a hair on your mom’s head.” Deltas replied. She was way too adorable, to the point where he might just need a few minutes away from her to get his heart to calm down…

The sandy-blonde nodded as she heard their answers, grinning from ear to ear. “Okay then! I’m happy to have you as my Mama and Papa, Mama! Papa!” She announced with pride, light practically beaming from her face.

...Only for her to feel a little bit of shock as both of her new ‘parents’ collapsed onto the floor, nearly knocked out from how adorable she was.

“A-Are you okay? Mama? Papa?” Mikai asked, kneeling down to poke the two to make sure they were still breathing. “Maybe I should transform and get you both to a hospital or something, that can’t be healthy.” She muttered, slowly running a hand along her belt.

That hand stopped as soon as Deltas grabbed her wrist, her new Papa pulling himself up as he laughed. “We’re fine. Just look at my dear Gaia, she’s practically ascending from how happy she is to hear you call her Mama.” He said, and a quick glance towards her served to prove him right.

“Huh. Huuuuh. Okay then, guess Mama just needs a few minutes.” The sandy-blonde said as she helped her new Papa up properly, dusting him off slightly out of courtesy. “Soooo… Can I go now? I kinda don’t want to leave my friends hanging, they really wanted to eat ice cream with me.”

The response she got was a disapproving shake of the man’s head. “I’m afraid I want you to stay a little longer, Mikai. There’s something I want to do with you, now that you’re our dear daughter.” He explained, putting his hand on her shoulder as he turned towards the door leading out of his office. “How would you like to get some hands-on experience in the job market? I’m sure that you’d be great for my company, after a few weeks of training.”

“Oh, I’d love to! I’m kinda bad at working, but I’ll try my best!” Mikai cried out, happy to get the chance to help somebody. Besides, her teacher did say she should try and look for an internship sometime soon, and this counted. Right?

Deltas smiled. Oh, he was going to have a lot of fun teaching his newest daughter everything he knew. Maybe that bright smile of hers would carry a bit of his trademark charm, once they were done.

He couldn’t wait to see her wearing his colors even as she remained an adorable dork of a girl...
