When Tabitha woke up, groggy and with a massive hungover-induced headache, it took her a few moments to realize she should panic. For those first several seconds, it was just her mind reflecting on how sore her body feels and trying to remember how much she drank last night.
The panic starts when she tries to open her eyes… and can’t. Her eyelids just won’t separate, as if something is pressed against them and holding them tightly shut. Instinctually her arms try to raise to check her eyes, only for them to refuse to move as well. In fact, there’s not a single part of her body that obeys her mind’s panicked orders to react.
As the grogginess is replaced with a burst of adrenaline, Tabitha comes to several realizations. The first is that, thankfully, she can still breathe, albeit it only through her nose. Her mouth, like the rest of her, is stuck in what feels like a state of paralysis.
The second realization that forms in Tabitha’s mind is that her body is somehow being pressed up from every direction over every inch by some mysterious pressure. This pressure, which she quickly deduces is some kind of material tightly wrapped around her, is the source of her body’s immobility. She can feel it against every bit of her: her arms, her chest, her face, even the soles of her feet. Between the complete lack of wiggle room and the fact that the material even seems to stick to her, Tabitha quickly makes one last realization to its identity.
Tape. Probably duct tape. Wrapped expertly around her form, arms pinned to her sides, legs pinned together. Someone has turned her into a mummy… They’ve even spun the tape around her head, layer after layer covering her mouth, her eyes, even her ears and probably her hair…
Tabitha attempts rather ineffectively against the consuming bindings, before giving up as she finds zero give. Whoever has done this, they’ve seemed to cover every last inch of her body in multiple layers, except for her nostrils. Tabitha begins to feel warm, the tape trapping her body heat against her.
She has no idea how this happened, no clear last memories of what had led up to this. Had she gotten drunk and passed out with unsavory types? Made (and lost) a bet with someone? Maybe even… asked someone to do this?
All she knows is she’s going to be trapped like this until someone lets her out… If someone lets her out…
