"The gorgon tries to lock eyes with you. Roll to save," Dominica's DM narrated.
Dominica cast her die and winced. "Bad roll?" her DM asked her.
Dominica rolled her eyes. "Natural 1."
"...oh. wow. You glance into the gorgon's brilliant green eyes... and at the tiniest glance, you fall into them and realize that you can never look away again. The gorgon whispers something to you. Your conscious mind doesn't even understand it, but you understand that your fate is to be a beautiful work of art."
Dominica gasped, suddenly finding herself struggling to hold onto consciousness, the room slipping away. "This isn't just about my paladin, is it?"
"No, Dominica. This is deeper than that. The gorgon has looked through your character, straight into your soul."
"I'm going to be a beautiful work of art," Dominica murmured to herself.
"The gorgon whispers something else to you. Again, your conscious mind doesn't realize what's going on, only that you need to expose your body for her."
"I need to be a barefoot statue..." Dominca murmured, slipping off her flats and setting them neatly on the table. "I don't deserve to wear a shirt..." she continued, taking it off and tossing it aside. "I will be a pretty paladin statue... the gorgon's special trophy."
"That's right, Dominica. You don't need to fight any more. You don't need to play any more. You don't need to struggle any more. You can just fall into my eyes, and spend eternity as a beautiful barefoot stone statue."
"I lost... but this is a nice ending anyway..." Dominica managed to whisper, barely audible, as the gorgon's green eyes loomed larger and larger, filling her entire consciousness. She didn't even realize her body was moving as she stood to take a final pose, her bare feet matching a smooth marble pedestal. Then the bright green light was everything...
