Hannah was walking down a dark street full of houses when a shadow flickered past her. Before she could realize what was happening, she felt something hard hit her head. The last thing she saw was a starless sky. Then she was plunged into darkness.
She woke up in a white-lit room. All four walls were a strange red and the room smelled of hospital disinfectant. Her head throbbed violently. She moved her arms but was horrified to find that she was strapped to the bed. Iron cuffs encircled her wrists and ankles, while something tight clamped around her waist.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" She cried out in a hoarse voice. Her heart pounded like a stampede. Beads of sweat trickled into her eyes. At that moment, she realized something far more frightening. She felt a cold and unpleasant tug between her legs. She looked down and froze. There were two thick hoses leading into her vagina, pulsing as if alive. The heavy blue hoses hung on either side of the bed and disappeared somewhere behind the bed.
"Oh my God, what have they done to me!" Her breathing quickened and tears flooded her eyes. She began waving the handcuffs as hard as she could. The skin on her wrists began to burn, but she didn't let up. She grabbed the hoses between her legs and tried to pull them off. The slightest tug caused her considerable pain in her lower abdomen. It was as if they were part of her body.
"Miss Hannah, please calm down." A deep voice came from behind her. The door opened and a man in a white medical gown stepped in. He wore thick-rimmed glasses and his skin was deadly pale. Hannah looked at him with terror in her eyes.
"Who are you? What's going on? Get it off me!" She screamed, thrashing violently on the bed.
The doctor sighed and stepped closer. "Don't try to pull the hose out. They're provisionally sewn to hold and seal tight." His voice was calm, emotionless.
"What have you done to me?" Hannah whispered, her voice shaking. Her eyes glistened with tears.
"Don't worry, I'll explain everything." The doctor adjusted his glasses and continued. "The customer who chose you has... a specific deviation. He chose you as his forever pregnant companion in his home on a private island."
Hannah gasped. "That... that's impossible. What are you talking about!"
"Your womb will gradually fill with saline. The hoses are connected directly to it. Gradually, your abdomen will expand and reach the size our client desired. At night, the fluid will be injected under gentle pressure so that you can sleep. During the day, however, we will adjust the pressure to the maximum level to speed up the process as much as possible without damaging your tissues. This may be a little more painful."
Hannah remained staring at the doctor in horror and disgust. "You can't do that. This... this isn't legal! This is... this is sick!"
"I'm afraid it's too late. The customer has paid a very large sum to have you at his disposal." The doctor turned and began checking the monitor attached to the hoses. "Get a good night's sleep. We'll start with higher pressures tomorrow."
"No, no, please! Let me go!" Hannah screamed, but the doctor ignored her. The room filled with the muffled sound of the pump and Hannah suddenly felt pressure in her lower abdomen. It was as if something began to expand inside. The pain was barely noticeable at first, but gradually increased. Hana began to cry.
The next day came as if in a fog. The pressure was unbearable. As soon as the doctor arrived and activated the pumping, Hana cried out in pain. Her abdomen began to gradually enlarge. Every centimeter meant a new wave of suffering. The doctor calmly observed her and took notes.
"This can't be endured... I can't stand it..." Hana muttered into stiff lips as the pain eased in the evening.
"Your body will get used to it," the doctor replied dryly.
After a few weeks, her belly was as big as a pregnant woman in her ninth month. The pain never went away. She prayed every day that it would stop. The large mirror across the bed reminded her of her new, grotesque form.
"Enough!" she screamed as the pressure reached its peak. "I can't take it anymore! Please! Do something! Stop it!" she screamed desperately into the mirror, from where she suspected the mysterious client was watching her.
But no answer was coming. Every day the doctor came in, measured her abdomen, checked the monitors and left again. Hannah lost track of time. She was trapped.
Every day she thought it must be over. She saw her huge belly and was convinced it couldn't get any bigger. But each day the enlargement continued. "You're crazy," she screamed. "I can't live like this!"
After a few months, Hannah's belly was grotesquely huge. Every movement was difficult and painful. The skin on her abdomen was stretched to bursting and every breath was like a struggle. She lay on the bed, where she had been strapped the whole time, and didn't even cry anymore. Her tears had long since run out.
When the doctor came in one day, Hannah looked up at him with a look of hatred and resignation. "Stop it already," she whispered in a broken voice.
The doctor looked at her over his glasses and nodded. "We'll finish the last step today. The customer is happy with the result. We'll remove the tubing and replace the fluid with silicone. It will remain firm but flexible. No need to worry, your condition will be permanent."
Hannah shook her head in a last desperate defiance. "No... please..."
The doctor ignored her. Hana could feel the sedative coursing through her veins. Her eyelids were heavy, heavier than they had ever been, and the world around her began to blur. The last thing she heard was the monotonous beeping of the machines.
When she awoke, the room was silent. Her hands were no longer cuffed. The hoses were gone. For a moment she felt a glimmer of hope, but as soon as she tried to move her legs, she understood everything. Her belly was heavier than it had ever been. She could feel a strange tightness and stiffness through the taut skin. She tried to stand up, but the weight she had to carry was unimaginable.
"No..." She whispered. Carefully, she placed her hands on her belly, which now resembled a huge ball, unnatural and distorted. With an effort, she rolled onto her side and stared into the mirror opposite the bed. It was almost entirely obscured by her new form. Her belly dominated the room.
The door opened and the doctor entered. In his hand he held a wide loose dress.
"You'll wear this," he said in a neutral tone, placing the dress on the edge of the bed. "We'll take you to a customer tomorrow."
"Where am I? Who is the customer?" Hannah whispered with a desperate expression.
The doctor looked at her expressionlessly. "You'll find out soon enough."
When she took the dress in her hand it was huge, she had never held anything that big. When she put it on, however, it was tight around her belly. "This is crazy!" She thought. I can't stay like this forever!"
The trip to the island was long and humiliating. Two nurses transferred her effortlessly to a wide wheelchair and Hannah sat hunched over the whole way, her belly weighing heavily on her legs. Legs she couldn't even see over the belly. No one spoke a word.
When they arrived at the sprawling residence on the private island, Hana was exhausted and broken. The villa was beautiful - the glass windows, the view of the sea, everything looked like something out of a fairy tale. But for Hana, it was a prison.
A man in a smart suit entered. Hannah was breathless when she recognized him.
"Joseph...?" she whispered. Her voice sounded terrified.
It was her boss from work. The man who occasionally courted her and whom she always politely turned down. She never thought he was capable of such a thing.
Joseph smiled at her. "Welcome home, Hanicka. I hope you like it here."
"You... you did?" Hannah barely managed a whisper. Her hands shook as she tried to rise, but the weight of her belly pulled her down again.
"Yes," Joseph replied calmly. "I've always wanted you close to me. And now you're perfect. You're just the way I dreamed you would be."
Hannah burst into tears. "Why? Why did you do this to me?"
Joseph walked over to her and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, the other stroking her huge belly. "Don't worry. I'll take care of you. You'll have everything you need."
"Everything except a normal life," Hannah whispered, looking away.
Joseph ignored her words. "We'll put you up in a room overlooking the sea. You'll get used to it in time."
Life with a giant belly was worse than Hannah could have imagined. Every step was an ordeal. She had to hold on to the walls to keep from losing her balance and often collapsed to her knees under the unbearable weight. Sitting was difficult. Standing up was almost impossible. Every bit of hygiene was a nightmare. She could barely reach her private parts from behind. Pushing herself to the toilet or the bathroom through what she found to be a narrow door was exhausting.
Once, in a fit of rage, she screamed at her reflection in the mirror. "Get out! Get out! Why can't you get out!" She pressed her hands against her upper abdomen as hard as her strength would allow. But her belly didn't move. The skin remained still, smooth, firm. She knew the struggle was futile, that she couldn't get the mass of silicone out of her.
From time to time the birth pangs echoed. They lasted several days, sometimes a week. Her body tried in vain to push the silicone ball out, but it was impossible. Hana was losing her mind at these moments. She was desperately scratching her belly, screaming, writhing and begging for help.
Joseph watched her and always approached her gently. "It will pass, Hannah. You must be strong."
She hated him. She hated his every touch, his every look. He disgusted her. But over time, as her strength ran out, something changed. She began to look forward to his presence. Even though she loathed him, she needed him. He was the only one who talked to her. The only one who touched her. The only one who looked at her with affection.
Joseph threw parties for his rich friends. Hannah was his "ornament." She wore loose but elegant dresses that accentuated her incredible figure. She shuffled awkwardly among the guests, treating them with her head bowed. She was ashamed of her body, feeling their stares, but she knew she had no choice.
Several times she thought of asking one of the guests for help. Each time she changed her mind. Who would want to save her? Who would want to take care of a monster with a huge belly?
And Joseph... Joseph needed her. And she needed him.
