I finally had another free night, so I thought I would attend another magic show. A different magician was headlining this one.
Now, some of you might think I'm crazy for going to another magic show, especially after what happened to me at the last one, but I actually enjoyed the experience of being sawn in half.
I wore a green mini dress and sat down on the front row. I wore my red hair down this night.
It was another typical show with all the standard tricks. Can't these magicians come up with anything new? I thought to myself.
Finally, a couple of assistants wheeled out a chair with with what appeared to be leather restraints on the arm rests, and the leg rest.
Finally something different.
The magician announced that he would need a volunteer.
I thought that there was no way I would get picked twice.
Finally the magician stopped and pointed at me.
"You, the lady in the green dress, would you please come up here and help me?"
I couldn't believe it. I had actually been picked again!
The audience applauded as I walked on to the stage.
"What is your name?" The magician asked.
"Erin." I replied
"Erin, would you please take your shoes off, and have a seat in this chair?"
I did as he asked, and the assistants fastened the restraints around my wrists, and my legs, several inches above my ankles.
The magician was handed a handsaw, and turned to the audience, and said: "Now, the trick that I really want to do a lot of times makes my volunteers want to run away."
I started to get real worried when he said that.
"...So I had to come up a way to keep them from running away." The magician continued. " Now, some of you might be wondering why I don't just tie her up? Well, I could, but where is the fun in that? No, I have something different in mind."
The magician walked over and placed the saw just above my left ankle.
"Erin can't run away if she dosen't have any feet." The magician said. The audience laughed.
He can't be serious. I thought to myself. Oh, but he was, and before I could object, he started sawing. I felt the pain as the saw ripped into my skin, but it felt better the deeper it went. The saw continued to cut deeper and deeper until it finally severed my foot. He caught it before it hit the ground, and gave it a brief tickle before handing it to one of his assistants. This caused me to laugh. The magician then cut off my right foot, and gave it a brief tickle before handing it to the other assistant.
The two assistants walked to opposite sides of the stage and held out my feet for members of the audience to tickle. I wiggled my toes and laughed as they tickled my feet. The audience seemed to enjoy this, except for one lady who was visibly grossed out at the thought of touching a severed foot.
The assistants walked back on stage with my feet, while a couple of more assistants brought out the next trick.
The magician undid the leather restraints, and picked me up to carry me to the next trick. My eyes widened as I looked and saw a guillotine. He was right, I probably would have tried to run away.
The magician set me on my knees in front of the stock, and handcuffed my hands behind my back. Against my better judgement, I leaned over, and placed my neck in the stock. An assistant moved my hair out of the way so that it wouldn't get caught in the stock. The magician then closed and locked the stock, and placed a basket under my head.
"And now for the grand finale." The magician said.
The magician then released the rope, and before I could react, the blade sliced through my neck, severing my head from my body. My headless body collapsed to the floor while my head landed safely in the basket. Even though my head was no longer attached, I could still feel my body.
An assistant brought out a metal tray and handed it to the magician. He then took my severed head out of the basket and placed it on the tray. Although I was a little disoriented, I managed to smile for the audience. They applauded.
He then handed the tray with my head to the assistant, who then took it out to the audience. The audience was astonished as they touched my head. I smiled and was even able to talk to them. The same lady who was grossed out by my foot almost fainted as I said "Hi" to her. There was now no doubt in the audience's mind that my head really had been chopped off.
The assistant then brought my head back up on to the stage, while the other assistants placed my severed feet on the tray with my head.
While this was going on, the magician was handed a large black cloth, and used it to make my body disappear. I couldn't see what had happened, and didn't know why the audience just applauded, all I knew was that I couldn't feel my body anymore.
The assistants then started to carry the tray with my remaining parts backstage, without the magician restoring me...
"What... aren't you..." I tried to get the magician's attention, but it was too late. He took a bow to a standing ovation, and the show was over.
