...While I was backstage calming down from the trick before and preparing the squeezer, the magnificant Ray used tricks on the audience.
I heard the "ooohs" and "aaahs" coming from the audience finally finishing to prepare the contraption. "To our next trick!", Ray called out in a resonating voice, echoing through the hall and pushed the squeezer out, covered up by a big sheet of red cloth.
"Hold you breath, my dear audience, since my lovely assisstant Tamara will surely lose hers during this trick", Ray spoke loudly bowing down to the audience and grabbing the corner of the sheet pulling it from the contraption and revealing it.
This squeezer wasn't the usual squeezer you use for laundry.
Mounted onto a table was a long metal beam holding a shiny, metal barrel with a long slit along the slide to let out steam. The table itself was thick enough for a slim woman to fit in.
"The squeezer!", Ray called out reaveling it and the audience gasped. Whipsering voice came from the audience. "How are they gonna do it?" "This thing looks industrial-grade."
Ray reached out to me to help me get onto the table, getting a little excited.
Ray turned to the audience again as I layed there. "As the observing eye sees this isn't a usual squeezer, I built that beauty myself, driven by a steam engine it can be used to flatten and piece of cloth, really useful for straightening my suits. Anyway, if anyone out there ever wondered what it's like to be a sheet of paper, Tamara here, will be sure to show you."
He walked around the table and turned on the engine and the mashine's barrel started to spin slowly, exhausting steam as it does. The audience "ooooh"-ed.
I took a deep breath, put my hands on my stomach and closed my eyes: "Here it goes", I thought to myself. With a loud squeak, I heard Ray sarting to lower the barrel and the heat of the metal slowly approaching my feet.
With a sizzling sound the barrel touched my feet and I felt the my skin change, become more malleable and slowly my feet were squished onto the table. Carefully the barrel slowly rolled up my body, flattening my legs, sending shivers up my body. Eventhough this mashine was driven with steam, the warmth felt rather nice.
Ray reached my knees and I wasn't able to move my lower legs anymore - they felt like stuck to the table for now.
Some people in the audience gasped as he continued to flatten me.
Half my body was now as flat as a sheet of paper, not able to be moved.
Ray continued and I felt my hands melt into my belly under the pressure of the steamy barrel. Going for my chest... I was a little flat anyway, these things can get in the way during tricks sometimes. Only my head remaining and I opened my eyes and Ray looked at me, winking. And with a quick roll my head was flattened as well.
There I was, flat as a sheet of paper, still warm just like coming from a printer.
Suddenly Ray grabbed me by my forhead and pulled me off the table showing me to the audience. The audience gasped: "This can't be real, she must be inside the table..."
He turned me around showing my back to the audience.
"This looks quite amazing, doesn't it?", he talked to the audience, "... but, how about a little twist? Anyone ever heard of the art of folding paper, called origami?"
Ray put me back on to the table and starts folding me. While I was unable to move, of course, I was still able to feel my body being folded. I was unable to see what he folded me into of course. After a minute of folding Ray picked me up and turned to the audience and it "Ohhh"-ed again and started clapping and soon he sent me flying backstage...
"And as graceful as a swan my assisstant flies off to the back..."
