The blinding flash from the silver wand reached its peak intensity, a conduit of purifying white-gold light fighting the escaping necrotic black mist of the corrupted Fae.

With a final, sickening crackle of energy, Maximillian ripped the wand free from Amethyst's spine.

The corruption was gone. Amethyst’s body, though still unconscious, instantly regained its natural colour, the gray pallor receding as the raw magical consumption ceased.

She dropped a few inches in the air before Maximillian's spell caught her, gently lowering her a foot above the ground.

The freed, malevolent essence of the Parademon-Fae, a shimmering, hateful cloud of purple-black smoke, screamed out of the wand's tip, scattering its energy across the Wildwood. The immediate danger to Amethyst was over, but the entity was now diffuse and loose.

Maximillian called to Nightshade, with a strained voice,

"It's out! Get her—"

But before he could finish, a blur of movement shot past him. Tinbunny, who had been momentarily stunned by the terror of seeing her friend "impaled," broke out of her trance.

The sight of the lethal, now-vacant magical weapon combined with the urgent need to protect her friend—and her Queen—overrode every doll-like compulsion Maximillian had placed on her.

She sprinted from under the oak tree toward the silver wand, her eyes locked on the glowing metal.

Tinbunny with a desperate, high-pitched cry ripping from her throat:

"Protect Amethyst! Protect the Court!"

Nightshade, having been focused on the immediate threat to Amethyst, and Maximillian, having just completed a magically draining extraction, were both too slow.

The second Tinbunny’s small hands closed around the silver wand, the metal flared again.

This time, the light was focused solely on her.

The purifying, neutralizing magic of the silver—designed to contain corrupted power—met with the volatile, raw Fae energy that was now flooding Tinbunny's system after her traumatic "resurrection."

Tinbunny instantly stiffened, the intense magical current arcing from the wand, but she did not drop it. She stood frozen, the radiant silver light enveloping her completely.
