Maximillian ignored Nightshade’s plea, his mind already three steps ahead of the immediate crisis. He didn't need to treat Amethyst; he needed to turn her into a magical capacitor to draw out the corruption. He needed the raw, volatile power of their combined emotional reaction.

He focused a beam of energy from his palm, not at Amethyst, but at the air around her.

Maxmillian Speaking to Nightshade as she graped Amethyst, his tone flat and instructional

"Let go of her. The Fae is binding her life force to the Wildwood's energy—turning her into a necrotic broadcast point, amplified by unseelie energy. I can’t simply dispel it; I have to yank it out and redirect the overload. I need reaction energy."

He activated his first spell. A flash of blue-white light encased Amethyst’s body. Slowly, impossibly, her unconscious form began to lift away from the ground, suspended about three feet in the air, no longer touching the corrupted earth.

Nightshade stared, horrified at the sight, her breath hitching—a perfect spike of shock energy.

From an inner pocket, Maximillian produced a thin, foot-long silver wand. The metal was pristine, unnaturally bright, and humming with focused counter-magic. With a delicate, almost ritualistic movement, he balanced Amethyst’s floating form on the very tip of the wand, as if she were a feather.

Maximillian's eyes darted briefly to the onlookers.

"Tinbunny, Barwell! Look at your friend. Focus on the raw injustice!"

The silver wand began to glow with a fierce, cold light. Maximillian adjusted his grip, applying precise magical pressure, and then, without hesitation, he thrust the wand's tip directly towards Amethyst's spine. The metal did not break the skin; instead, it shimmered and inserted itself into the base of Amethyst's spine—exactly where the corrupted Fae was beginning to anchor its control.

A loud, piercing scream of pure magical anguish ripped through the air, emanating not from Amethyst, but from the silver wand as it inserted itself, forcing the pain of the trapped creature through the conduit.

The reaction was instantaneous:

Nightshade recoiled, a wave of sickening rage and protective fury washing over her face—the emotional spike Max needed.

Tinbunny let out a high, distressed whimper, clutching her hands to her ears, the sight of a beloved friend impaled on a silver object overriding her magical doll-trance.

Barwell physically flinched, his jaw dropping in stunned, disbelieving horror.

The combined, volatile energy of shock, terror, and rage from all three of them—Nightshade’s maternal panic, Tinbunny’s empathetic pain, and Barwell's raw fear—was precisely the uncontrolled release Maximillian required.

The silver wand flared blindingly, drawing the necrotic energy, the Parademon-Fae's essence, out of Amethyst's body and into the purifying, conductive metal, preparing it for an immediate, final dispel.

But Tinbunny had other plans...
