The first half of the show concludes, and Jenny steps backstage. She takes a moment to check her body, still marvelling at the transformations she has undergone. Her skin feels different, more supple and elastic. She stretches her arms, feeling how unusually flexible they are. The strangest part is how natural it all feels.
Kashmir then reveals her original legs, sitting patiently in a corner, waiting for her. The sight unsettles her but also reassures her in an odd way. They look untouched, as if they’ve been waiting for her return. She feels a strange connection to them, but the thought of putting them back on seems distant and almost unwanted.
Kashmir approaches her, his eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and understanding. “Jenny, take a moment to breathe. You’ve done incredibly well tonight.”
Jenny takes a deep breath, still processing everything. “Thank you, Kashmir. I… I can’t believe this is happening. This is real magic, isn’t it?”
Kashmir nods, his smile warm and reassuring. “Yes, Jenny. This is real magic. You’ve embraced it, and it has embraced you. The next act will push you even further. Are you ready for what’s to come?”
Jenny feels a mix of excitement and apprehension. “Yes, I’m ready. But… how do you keep changing my clothes like that? One moment, I’m in a bodysuit, the next, a superhero costume, and now… what even is this outfit?”
She inspects herself in the mirror, half-expecting not to recognize her own reflection. But it’s her—except she’s starting to wonder if she’s still just herself anymore. Her body has been changed in ways she never thought possible, and she’s starting to enjoy this bizarre, thrilling experience.
She glances at her original legs, sitting in the corner. They look untouched, waiting for her. She still feels connected to them, but part of her was starting to enjoy this new form. “Kashmir, are you ready for the next act?”
Kashmir’s voice cuts through her thoughts. “Are you ready for the next act, Jenny?”
Jenny takes a deep breath. “Yes. And if you keep changing my clothes, could you do something I’ve always dreamed of wearing?”
Kashmir raises an eyebrow. “Oh? And what might that be?”
Jenny grins. “A chainmail bikini.”
Kashmir laughs, claps his hands together, and says, “Then let’s make that dream come true.”
As they walk back toward the stage, Jenny blinks—and suddenly, she’s dressed as an aristocrat from the French Revolution. She gasps as Kashmir smirks. “We’ll get to your chainmail bikini, but first, something dramatic.”
Jenny looks down at her new outfit, a luxurious dress with intricate lace and a high collar, and feels a sense of elegance and power. She can’t help but smile. “This is incredible. What’s next?”
Kashmir’s eyes gleam with excitement. “Ladies and gentlemen, the intermission is over. Prepare yourselves for the next act, where the magic will reach new heights.”
The audience’s applause grows louder as the lights dim, and the stage is set for the next magical journey. Jenny feels a surge of anticipation and excitement. She is ready for whatever comes next, and she is more determined than ever to embrace the magic.
As they step onto the stage, the audience is back in their seats, their eyes wide with anticipation. A large French guillotine looms at centre stage, its imposing presence casting a shadow over the entire theatre. Jenny looks down and suddenly realizes her wrists have been bound and manacled like a prisoner. She continues walking toward the imposing device, her heart pounding. She is really nervous now—this is unlike anything she has ever experienced before.
Kashmir gives a talk about what happened during the French Revolution, when the nobles condemned to death would walk toward their fate. His voice is smooth and commanding, weaving a narrative that captivates the audience.
“Ladies and gentlemen, during the French Revolution, the guillotine was a symbol of the people’s justice. Nobles and prisoners alike would walk this solemn path, knowing their fate was sealed. Tonight, we will recreate this historical moment, but with a magical twist.”
As he says this, Jenny realizes she is not in control of her legs. Her pace becomes solemn and deliberate, as if she is being guided by an unseen force. The audience watches in rapt attention, their eyes fixed on her.
Kashmir’s voice is calm and reassuring. “Jenny, you are now a prisoner of the French Revolution. Embrace this role and let the magic guide you.”
Jenny reaches the guillotine, her heart racing. She feels a mix of fear and excitement. Kashmir helps her step up onto the platform, and she lies down on the wooden board. Her wrists are bound and manacled to the sides of the guillotine, and her legs are restrained as well. The neck stock is placed around her neck, and she feels the cold, hard wood against her skin.
Kashmir’s voice cuts through the tension. “Ladies and gentlemen, watch closely as the magic of the guillotine is revealed.”
Jenny’s heart is pounding in her chest. She can feel the cold metal of the restraints and the pressure of the neck stock. The blade of the guillotine is lowered above her neck, and she takes a deep, steadying breath. The audience is silent, their eyes fixed on her.
Kashmir’s voice is smooth and commanding. “Jenny, this is the moment of truth. Trust the magic.”
As the blade of the guillotine begins its descent, Jenny feels a rush of adrenaline mixed with a strange sense of calm. It's as if her body and mind are preparing for an event that is both surreal and inevitable. The cold metal of the restraints and the pressure of the neck stock against her skin are the last physical sensations she's aware of before the blade's path intersects with her neck.
The moment of separation is almost anticlimactic, a brief, sharp pain followed by a sensation of weightlessness. It's as if her head is floating, detached not just from her body but from the very concept of physical form. The world around her becomes a kaleidoscope of colours and sounds, a cacophony of gasps and murmurs from the audience, the creaking of the guillotine's mechanism, and the distant, muffled voice of Kashmir speaking, his words indistinguishable but his tone reassuring.
Jenny's vision blurs for a moment, a swirl of lights and shadows, before her gaze focuses on the plinth where her head is gently placed. She sees the stage from a completely new perspective, the audience a sea of faces looking back at her with a mix of awe and horror. The realization that she is still alive, still aware and thinking, is both astonishing and terrifying. Her mind races with questions about the nature of consciousness and the magic that has made this possible.
Despite the shock and the disbelief, Jenny feels a strange sense of peace, a detachment from the fear and panic that she would have expected. It's as if her consciousness has transcended the physical bounds of her body, allowing her to observe the scene with a curious detachment. She notices the intricate details of the stage setting, the lace of her dress, and the sheen on Kashmir's suit as he approaches her.
Jenny’s head is now separated from her body, but she is still fully aware. She can see and hear everything, and her mind is clear. She looks around the stage, feeling a mix of disbelief and amazement.
Kashmir's hands move with a practiced ease, reaching into the basket to gently lift out Jenny's head. The audience holds its collective breath, their gasps and murmurs suspended in anticipation of what will happen next. Kashmir's fingers cradle the back of Jenny's head, supporting it as he lifts it out of the basket. For a moment, her head is suspended in mid-air, a surreal and macabre sight that draws a collective shudder from the audience.
Kashmir's movements are smooth and deliberate, his eyes locked onto Jenny's as he begins to walk towards the centre of the stage. He carries her head with the same care and reverence one might afford a precious artifact, his steps measured and slow. The spotlight follows him, casting an intense glow over the scene and illuminating the intricate details of Jenny's face. Her eyes, though separated from her body, still sparkle with a mix of fear and wonder, her lips parted slightly as if in surprise.
As Kashmir approaches the plinth, a slender, ornate column rising from the stage floor, he gently rotates Jenny's head, aligning her face with the audience. The plinth is adorned with intricate carvings, symbols of magic and illusion that seem to dance in the light. Kashmir's hands guide Jenny's head onto the plinth, settling it into a recessed area that cradles her skull. The fit is perfect, as if the plinth was designed specifically for this purpose.
For a moment, Kashmir's hands linger, his fingers brushing against Jenny's hair, before he steps back, his eyes never leaving hers. The audience exhales collectively, their breath releasing in a soft sigh of amazement and relief. The sight of Jenny's head, separated from her body yet still alive and aware, is a spectacle that defies explanation, a testament to the power of magic and illusion.
Kashmir's voice breaks the spell, his words weaving a narrative that draws the audience deeper into the mystery of the performance. "Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing the incredible power of magic. Jenny is still very much alive and aware, even in this separated form."
Kashmir's voice cuts through her reverie, “Jenny, how does it feel to be a head?”
Jenny’s voice is steady, despite the surreal situation.
"It's... strange. Liberating, in a way. I feel free from my body, yet still connected to it. It's a perspective I never thought I'd experience."
The audience is in awe, their eyes wide with amazement. Kashmir’s eyes gleam with delight. “Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing the incredible power of magic. Jenny is still very much alive and aware, even in this separated form.”
Kashmir then gestures to the audience. “But the magic doesn’t end here. Watch closely as Jenny’s journey continues.”
Jenny’s head remains on the plinth, and she feels a strange, tingling sensation spreading through her. She can see the audience, their faces a mix of shock and wonder. She feels a sense of detachment from her body, but also a strange, new kind of awareness.
Kashmir’s voice is smooth and commanding. “Jenny, you are about to experience something truly extraordinary. Embrace the magic.”
The audience’s applause grows louder, and Jenny feels a sense of belonging and excitement. She had faced her fears and embraced the magic, and the audience’s reaction was a testament to her bravery and the magic of the evening.
As the audience continues to applaud, Kashmir's eyes never leave Jenny's face, a subtle smile playing on his lips. The spotlight remains fixed on her, casting an intense glow over the plinth and the surrounding stage. The air is electric with anticipation, the audience waiting with bated breath to see what will happen next.
And then, in a movement that is both unexpected and mesmerizing, Jenny's body begins to stir. It's as if an invisible force is animating her limbs, causing her to sit up from the guillotine's platform. The restraints that had held her in place fall away, clattering to the floor with a loud rattle.
The audience gasps in unison, their eyes fixed on Jenny's body as it rises to its feet. It's a jerky, unnatural movement, as if she's being manipulated by an unseen puppeteer. Her arms hang limp at her sides, her legs stiff and uncoordinated.
Kashmir's smile grows wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "And now, ladies and gentlemen, the final act of our illusion. Jenny's body, empty and lifeless, will take its leave of the stage."
With a stiff, mechanical gait, Jenny's body begins to walk away from the guillotine. It's a slow, awkward movement, as if she's learning to walk for the first time. The audience watches in rapt attention, their minds struggling to comprehend what they're seeing.
As Jenny's body reaches the edge of the stage, it pauses for a moment, as if waiting for some unseen cue. And then, with a stiff bow, it turns and exits the stage, disappearing into the darkness of the wings.
The audience erupts into applause, their cheers and whistles filling the theatre. Kashmir bows low, his eyes never leaving Jenny's face, still perched on the plinth. "Thank you, ladies and gentlemen," he says, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "The magic of the night is far from over. Stay tuned for the final act, where Jenny will be reunited with her body in a way you never thought possible."
The spotlight fades to black, plunging the stage into darkness. The audience is left to ponder the mystery of what they've just witnessed, their minds racing with questions and theories. And Jenny, still aware and alive, waits patiently on the plinth, wondering what the final act of the illusion will bring.
Kashmir takes a step back, and the stage lights dim slightly. “Ladies and gentlemen, the next part of Jenny’s journey is about to begin.”
Jenny’s head remains on the plinth, and she feels a sense of anticipation and curiosity. She wonders what will happen next, and the audience watches in rapt attention, eager to see the next magical transformation.
Kashmir's eyes sparkle with excitement as he approaches the plinth where Jenny's head is still perched. "Jenny, my dear, you've been an absolute delight to work with. And now, I think it's time we gave you a new body to match your adventurous spirit. What kind of body would you like to have?"
Jenny's face lights up with a mischievous grin. "I've always wanted to be a female barbarian, like the ones I used to play in Dungeons and Dragons. You know, the kind who wears a chain mail bikini and wields a massive sword?"
Kashmir's eyebrows rise in amusement. "A chain mail bikini, you say? And what was your character's name, if I might ask?"
"Her name was Griselda, the Unyielding," Jenny replies, a faraway look in her eyes. "She was a fierce warrior, with long, flowing hair the color of honey and skin as tan as the sun-kissed savannah. She wore a chain mail bikini, with a sword at her side and a shield emblazoned with the symbol of her tribe."
Kashmir's eyes gleam with interest. "And what kind of sword did Griselda wield?"
Jenny's voice takes on a dreamy quality. "She had a massive great axe, with a blade as wide as a door and a handle wrapped in leather and studded with iron rivets. And she wore a necklace with a pendant in the shape of a snarling lion's head, said to give her strength and courage in battle."
Kashmir nods, his mind racing with the details. "And what about her shield? What was it like?"
Jenny's eyes light up. "Her shield was made of sturdy oak, with a metal rim and a symbol of her tribe emblazoned on the front. It was said to have magical properties, able to deflect even the most powerful of spells."
Kashmir's smile grows wider. "I think we can manage that. And perhaps a few other... additions, to make Griselda truly unforgettable."
With a flourish, Kashmir lifts Jenny's head from the plinth and carries it over to a hoop with a curtain attached to it. The curtain is a deep, rich purple, embroidered with intricate patterns of gold and silver. Kashmir places Jenny's head into the curtain, and the audience is left to wonder what will happen next.
The curtain begins to glow with a soft, ethereal light, and the sound of clanking metal and rustling fabric fills the air. The audience leans forward, their eyes fixed on the curtain as it begins to shimmer and shine.
And then, in a burst of light and smoke, the curtain falls away, revealing Jenny's new body. She stands tall and proud, her chain mail bikini glinting in the light. Her hair is long and flowing, the color of honey, and her skin is tan and toned. She wields a massive greataxe, its blade as wide as a door, and her shield is emblazoned with the symbol of her tribe.
Around her neck, the lion's head pendant glints in the light, and her ears are adorned with intricate, magical earrings that seem to pulse with power. The audience gasps in amazement, their eyes fixed on Jenny's new body.
Jenny's head, still perched on the hoop, looks down at her new body with a mixture of wonder and excitement. "I... I'm Griselda," she stammers, her voice full of awe.
Kashmir bows low, a triumphant smile on his face. "You are indeed, my dear. And now, let us see what kind of adventures we can have with your new body."
It was then from back of the stage, there was a loud roar and a mix of fire and smoke could be smelt.
Kashmir looked at Jenny, and said "It's time for Griselda to attempt her first challenge."
