The Scenario

A superheroine has been defeated and captured. She has been stripped of her gear and footwear.

She sits in a techno-bondage chair. Its contours cradle her Olympian physique. Metallic bands encircle her neck, forearms, stomach, and ankles, pinning those parts of her body to the respective areas of the seat. The chair's leg rest is elevated perpendicular to the floor, exposing the bare soles of her feet to the room.

Above the heroine's head hangs an ominous, concave device. Its shape indicates that it would fit loosely over her scalp. Jointed mechanical arms support it and allow it to move up and down from its current position. Inset lights on its surface and within its hollowed interior will flash or shine steadily when it is powered on. But, for the moment, they remain dark.

Soon, the device will come to life. It will lower to rest over the heroine's head. Its lights will flash for a time, then shine steadily. A faint, rhythmic buzzing will sound, its cadence occasionally changing. This will continue for a long while. Eventually, the buzzing will cease, and the lights will flash again before going out. The device will then raise up off of the heroine's head.

The entire process will constitute a thorough, irresistible regimen of hypno-conditioning. Upon its conclusion, the superheroine will be brainwashed into complete submission and unfailing obedience to her captor.

Your Choice

Whether you see yourself as the defeated superheroine, the mind-controlling villain, or even just a fly on the wall, you have a choice to make: What is the captive's state of mind at the beginning of the above scenario?

Please leave a comment with one or more choices from the six below. If you have another choice not listed here, feel free to state that. If enough people comment, then I will offer up my choice(s), as well.

1. Asleep/unconscious. She has not awoken since her recent defeat. Thus, she has no idea what has happened, nor what is about to befall her. When her ordeal finally ends, she will remain blissfully ignorant of what was done to her and what she was made to do.

2. Awake but groggy/disoriented. She knows that she was defeated and captured, and she knows that she's in a bad situation. But she doesn't know exactly what is going on. If she could clear away the cobwebs from her foggy brain, she could put up at least some kind of fight. But as it is now, she can barely hold onto consciousness.

3. Awake, aware, and defiant. She recognizes the type of chair she's in and the kind of machine that is poised above her head. She will fight with all the strength and will she can muster to resist the impending mind control. She will persevere, ruining the insidious plans of her captor. Then, she will escape and bring the villain to justice.

4. Awake, aware, and scared. She recognizes the type of chair she's in and the kind of machine that is poised above her head. She has heard the tales of hypnotized heroines enslaved to a villain's will, commiting crimes, and betraying their teammates. None of those stories ever recount a heroine resisting or breaking free of that enslavement on their own. If no one before her has done it, how will she? Fearfully, she awaits her fate.

5. Awake, aware, and relaxed/unbothered. She recognizes the type of chair she's in and the kind of machine that is poised above her head. She knows what it will do to her. And she's not happy about it. But at the same time, what can she do? She can fret and fight to no avail. Or, she can try to come through the process with no permanent mental damage, wait until she is rescued and deprogrammed, and then seek retribution when the time is right.

6. Awake, aware, and desirous/aroused. She recognizes the type of chair she's in and the kind of machine that is poised above her head. She knows what it will do to her. And she is giddily excited about it. One or more of her secret fetishes is being coincidentally exploited by her captor. Her inner submissive, always hidden from her teammates, is now as exposed as her bare feet. The process will begin soon...but not soon enough for her.

I am painfully aware that the image I used for this deviation doesn't completely match my description of the scenario. But, not being a visual artist myself, I really didn't have any good options to illustrate it. So, I went with the best I could find. With some self-forgiveness on my part and some imagination on the part of the viewer, it will hopefully suffice.
