The Elf
She stares at him. She knows his purpose and his desire. Should he get his way, she will serve and obey him as his slave.
But, he will not get his way. His magic will fail him.
She will not succumb to any arcane charm meant to ply her mind. Nor will she fall into any mystical sleep intended to subdue her.
For the blood of the fey flows through her veins. It protects her from such spells and influences.
Thus, for all his power and might, he cannot bend her to his will.
The Wizard
He knows that he cannot rely on his magic. He understands its futility when cast upon the fey folk.
But, he has knowledge and wile. And with those, he will get what he wants.
He produces a mundane object. It is a mere trinket on a small, slender length of chain. As she continues to stare at him, he begins slowly swinging it back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
He sees her eyes leave his own and focus on the gently swinging trinket. He watches as its rhythmic swaying captivates her. He waits until it has lulled her as no spell of sleep ever could.
Now, he speaks slowly and methodically to her. His words open her mind and take root within it. As with a masterfully cast charm, he brings her completely under his sway.
It will take time, effort, and much repetition, but he will get his way. He will control the elf. She will serve and obey him as his slave.

This hypno-vignette has two inspirations:
The first is this lovely image of Cate Blanchett, which I found during an online search for 'barefoot elf girl.' Ironically, given my search criteria, the image was linked to an post that requested 'no more barefoot elves.' I guess the person responsible took issue with Galadriel's on-screen portrayal. Well, far be it from me to give up the opportunity to portray a lovely female elf as barefoot, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

The second is the long-standing concept in D&D that elves are immune to magically induced sleep and resistant to being magically charmed. Those are two very potent abilities. But how frustrating for mind-controlling villains within that setting! Good old Cyril needed to come up with a rebuke to those powers.
