March of the Brainwashed Zombie Drone Slaves

Things don't look so good for Corporal Korsica Kord of the Cosmo Corps. How will she get out of this predicament?

Oh, wait, you just got here. You don't know how it all started. You didn't see our plucky, perky, pretty young space heroine infiltrate the secret headquarters of the nefarious Dr. Diablus. You didn't watch as she stealthily entered the power station and began deftly sabotaging the coupling relays to shut down the villain's entire operation.

At that point, everything was going great. In another few seconds, Korsica would have finished her task and silently made her escape. But right at the critical moment, a henchman deviated from his set rounds and entered the power station to have a quick smoke. He spotted the Corpswoman and sounded the alarm.

Korsica easily thrashed the guard. She moved like lightning and struck like thunder. Wow, she was magnificent. I hope next time you get to see her in action. Unfortunately, with the alarm raised, the whole base had been alerted to her presence, and all exits had been sealed.

Now what was Korsica going to do? Well, she fought bravely. She took down a lot of guards. And she even got close to taking down Diablus himself. But in the end, his numerous henchmen overwhelmed her. They restrained her with neuroshackles. Then they stripped her of her astroarmor, utilibelt, electrogloves, and gravboots.

There she stood, barefoot and immobilized in only her Corps-issued longjanes. Then, on Diablus' order, two henchmen dragged her away to an interrogation cell. They strapped her into oversized chair and lowered an ominous looking helmet over her scalp. Diablus soon entered and sneered victoriously at her.

And that's where you came in. Exciting, isn't it? Okay, let's be quiet now and watch the scene unfold before us. Oh, and can you pass me some of the popcorn?

"You won't get away with this, Diablus," Korsica says defiantly.

"Won't I?" Diablus asks, unafraid in the presence of his helpless captive.

"No, you certainly won't. Even as we speak, a score of highly trained Corpswomen are zooming here at hyperspeed, having received the automated signal that broadcast from my utilibelt when you took it from me."

"Oh, no! A score of them, you say? On their way here now, you say? Hahahahaha! Foolish girl, I know there aren't 20 Corpswomen in this sector. There are, in fact, a total of six, including you. How do I know this? Let me show you..."

Diablus snaps his fingers. From out in the hallway, the sounds of soft footsteps can be heard. A moment later, five attractive young women march on bare feet into the room. Like Korsica, they wear only Corps-issued longjanes. Unlike Korsica, they wear no restraints. They hold their arms straight out in front of them. Their eyes stare blankly ahead above slack jaws. Some of them drool slightly.

"Crud cakes and mud muffins!" Korsica says. "What have you done to my colleagues?"

"Using my newly invented process of hyper-electro-mesmerism, I brainwashed them into zombie drone slaves," Diablus says with an evil grin. "They now mindlessly serve and obey me. Their days as valiant protectors of the galaxy are over, as yours soon will be."

"You cad! You cur!"

"Yes, yes, I've heard it all before. Much of it I heard from these five when they were in the very same position you are in now. Each one cursed, cussed, and fussed at me. And each one struggled against the hyper-electro-mesmerism. But none of them could resists its power. You won't be able to resist it, either."

"How pathetic."

"What do you mean, 'how pathetic?'"

Korsica smiles. She must be up to something. She must have a plan. Cool!

"I mean," she says, "that it's pathetic how such a supposed archfiend has to resort to brainwashing to overcome a Corpswoman. He obviously can't win against her with any normal means. His lack of wits won't let him outthink her. His spinelessness won't let him intimidate her. And his utter ugliness certainly won't let him seduce her. So what is his only option? Brainwash her into a mindless, unthinking zombie that even his lowly, pitiful self can control."

Diablus ponders her words, a look of distress chasing the grin from his face.

"If you had any guts at all," Korsica continues, "you'd try to break me yourself and not rely on some overblown hairdryer to do your dirty work for you."

Is that a quiver sneaking along Diablus' lip? Is Korsica really getting to him? I think so!

"Come on, Doctor. Face me one on one. Show me what you've got."

Korsica smirks confidently, as Diablus covers his face in his hands. This could be it. This could the turning point. I'm glad you got here in time to see this! Diablus lowers his hands. He stares pensively at Korsica. He frowns deeply. He takes a breath.

"Nah," he says.

His frown inverts into a maniacal grin.

"Each of your little friends gave me the same speech, or some variation of it," he says. "Screw that! You want me to show you what I've got? Well, what I've got is a hyper-electro-mesmerism machine. And you're about to become its next subject. Hahahahaha!"

With that, he snaps his fingers again. One of the brainwashed Corpswomen walks forward. Ignoring Korsica's protests, she moves to her restrained colleague, leans over, and presses a button on the back of the chair. Then she straightens up, turns around, and walks back to where she had been standing.

"No!" Korsica screams.

And then it starts.

Eerie green light and rhythmic vibrations emanate from beneath the hyper-electro-mesmerizing helmet. They have an immediate effect on Korsica, causing her eyes to widen, her body to tremble, and her toes to twitch.

"What's happening?" she asks nervously. "My head...it feels so...I can't...I don't…"

She trails off, a bemused expression taking over her face. Then she snorts loudly. She does it again several more times. The snorting fades away but is soon replaced by throaty guffaws. When those dies out, she begins blowing raspberries. Finally, she sighs and enters a becalmed state. Her eyes droop, and she slowly drifts into a trancelike sleep.

Now the light beneath the helmet changes to a crimson hue, and the vibrations cease in lieu of a low-pitched buzzing that almost sounds like someone is whispering into Korsica's ear. That may not be far off from what is happening because in her mesmerized stupor, Korsica begins responding to the buzzing.

"Dr. Diablus is my master," she says in a slow, soft drawl. "I will obey Dr. Diablus. I will serve him. I will do whatever he tells me. Dr. Diablus is my master. I will obey Dr. Diablus. I will serve him. I will do whatever he tells me…"

Over and over she repeats the insidious mantras, solidifying them within her mind that has been rendered utterly pliant and suggestible.

After a few minutes, the process ends. The crimson light and buzzing stop, after which two of Diablus' zombie drones walk forward and remove the helmet from Korisca's head. They then undo her restraints before returning to their positions near the door.

"Stand up, slave," Diablus says to his newly brainwashed thrall.

Korsica obeys. No trace of resistance or personality remains in her.

"Who do you serve, slave?"

"I serve you, Dr. Diablus. You are my master."

"Excellent. Now join my other brainwashed zombie drone slaves."

Raising her arms out in front of her, Korsica mindlessly walks over to her equally mindless colleagues.

"Now march!"

As one, the six Corpswomen proceed out of the cell. Diablus triumphantly follows them, rubbing his hands together as he contemplates all the despicable things he will have them do.

And that is that.

I am completely flabbergasted! How could this happen to Korsica? Is it permanent? Is she to remain in brainwashed servitude to Dr. Diablus? It's inconceivable to me that her adventure would end on a note like this. But it has. It absolutely and undeniably has.

Well, there's only one thing to do now: Watch it again, and enjoy every second of it! Care to join me? Great! Here we go....
