I remember going to bed early. I was tired from a long day of work a couple Friday's ago, and just wanting to eat, shower, and sleep. I sleep like a brick when I get real tired so there was no chance that anything would walk me up. I don't remember my dream that night, but I remember the sensation of movement throughout it.
I remember waking up in an uncomfortable position. Something was off about the sounds, smells, and sights from where I awoke. It was dead quiet, only the sounds of my restricted movements and breathing filled the room. My room's fan is loud and adds some noise when I sleep, but now, it was quiet. I opened my eyes and immediately could tell that something was wrong. I tried to move, only to find out that my arms and hands had been taped behind my back. The tape was also wrapped around my legs and ankles to keep me from moving much. my mouth wasn't stuffed, but I could feel several layers of tape over my mouth.
The worst part was yet to come about my situation. I was uncomfortable, not because of the bindings, but because of where I was stashed. There is a wooden chest/basket in my closet that I've had forever. I used it for stuffed animal storage and now use it as a blanket box. I was placed in the large chest and sealed away in my closet. My walk-in closet has a skylight, and the basket-esc chest poured small rays of light to allow me to see what was going on.
I wasn't uncomfortable in my bindings, as my outfit from bedtime hadn't changed. I was wearing a grey sweatshirt and some light blue sweat pants. The tape was tight, but it wasn't hurting me or bothering me too much. I didn't scream or panic when I had gathered my surroundings and situation. I was calm and wanted to know more about what had happened and why I was bound and hidden away.
I managed to use my legs to force the chest open. The chest has a weak magnetic lock to easily close it, so just a little force is enough to get it open. With the chest open, I used my hands (to the best of my ability) to grasp the edge of the chest and get onto my feet. I had to fall out of the chest to actually get out, because the surface of the chest was blanketed, and gave me no leverage or leg room to jump out. The fall was a tad scary, but I braved the fall and was out of the chest completely.
I managed to get back on my feet after some time and took a moment to breath. I looked up at the skyline and saw that the sky was a very dim blue. So it had to be really early in the morning, around 5 or 6 AM. I bunny hopped over the my closet door and peaked into my room. My bed wasn't very messy, so whoever grabbed me didn't force me out but carefully took me out of the bed. I was trying to figure out how I never woke up during the actually tying up and or placements, but couldn't figure it out.
I noticed an envelope on my desk but didn't even attempt opening it considering my hands being bound with tape. My room was a little brighter which gave me a clear vision of my bindings. It was a yellow electrical tape, which was much thicker than the average brand. The tape job wasn't crazy or restrictive, so whoever tied me up either wanted me out of the way for a little, or didn't want to injure me in their plans.
As I attempted to name possible candidates, I found some just in case scissors, and got to work, slowly freeing my hands. I thought it was Jesse at first, but I couldn't find any motivation for her doing this to me. My sister could've been the culprit because the tape job was very simple and not intricate. Still though, I didn't see any reasons for her taping me up, and storing me in my closet so early in the morning. I eventually freed myself and stretch my arms and legs in relief. I grabbed the envelope and finally got to the bottom of my morning. The note said "Good morning Steph! If your reading this you got out or your sister let you out. I had to get you up early for our anniversary in case you overslept and this was the only way I knew how. See you at noon! -Carter".
My boyfriend...snuck into my room...taped me up...placed me in a chest...in the middle of the night...for our anniversary.
So romantic!
