Process Complete!

"Ugh...I swear, those asshats from Soul Society really need to come up with a more convenient and less painful method of returning from the afterlife..." The black-haired Rukia moped.
"Oh, come on Rukia! I'm sure they're doing the best they can with what they're given!" The orange-haired Orihime countered.
"Sure, but that doesn't mean our souls don't feel the burden of going back to our bodies...wait...Orihime, something's wrong!"
"Whatever do you- ...oh."
"KYAAAHHH!!!"
"GRAAAGGGHHH!!!"
"You're joking! It almost seems like..."
"...we've swapped heads with each other!"
Indeed! Both Orihime and Rukia now had someone else’s body beneath their necks!
"Rrgh! This is BULLSHIT!! How could they have possibly messed this up?" The crass brunette raged aloud.
"To be honest, I agree with you Rukia. We DO look pretty different, so you’d figure it would be simple enough to choose the correct vessels to put us in..." The citrus corporal being pondered.
"You don't have to rub it in! Or rather...I'm now the one who can say that..." Rukia said, peering down at her new form.
"Mmm, actually...feel free to keep my body for a it if you'd like. I could use a break from carrying those heavy things for a while." Orihime chortled.
"Harumph! Don't go putting your hand on my chest while saying that!"
"And why NOT breathe a sigh of relief? Do I really have my hands anymore?"
"...tch!"
"Exactly."
For as much of a curmudgeon as Rukia could be, even she couldn’t fight back against that sort of logic.
"It's just...I can't even put my hands together without them getting in the way..."
"Don't worry, Rukia! You'll get used to it in no time flat! Ehehehe~"
"If I wasn't bound by the Shinigami Code I'd slash your head for that awful joke..."
"Oh, you! Let's go see how Ichigo and the rest of the gang will react to us now that we're like this!"
And so, the two of them got ready to meet their human partners in crime busting. However, the biggest task fraught with trouble would soon combat them…wearing the other person’s clothes without messing them up…but that’s a story for another time.
