She cracked the dark like a rising sun.
The retreating night soon outrun.
The higher she rose, brighter she shined.
Lonely darkness to the past consigned.

Noontime intensity.  Senses awed.
Brighter.  Hotter.  My frozen soul thawed.
Immersed in the heat.  Bathed in the light.
Distant the memory of dark cold night.

Blink of the eye.  A chill in the air.
My sun recedes in a bold orange flare.
As fast as she rose she falls from sight.
Abducting my day.  Leaving the night.

A cold hearted moon does remind
That on someone else my sun does shine.
Less this dim reflection the light is gone.
Back into the dark.  Where I belong.
