Susanne was always peculiar at the flexibility of her feet. It's always been like that but there has never been given a reason why. She could walk as normal and do everything an average girl could, but she can also bend it in a lot of ways normal feet can't.
She can literally bend her feet, with ease and no discomfort or pain. This is proved to have varying degrees of success in certain activities. Ballet is a bit difficult for this, especially when she had perform the 'en pointe' with her foot, her foot would collapse under her wait due to feet being rubbery and unstable. Although running she did really well, she can sprint very fast, as the elasticity of her feet would act as sort of a spring.
X-ray's show that when she is bending her feet that the bones itself are bending also along with the rest of the foot. This really baffled doctors, who couldn't figure out what is going on.
One thing Susanne normally can do with her feet is to fold it up really tight so she can fit into shoes up to 4 sizes smaller than her normal shoe size. Since her feet never stays the shape though, she would normally try to bind it tightly with some sort of material so her feet would stay into the small shoes.
But when she removes the wrapping her feet would almost 'boing' back into shape, and they would slowly unravel them self once the material is removed. Susanne's feet are pretty much elastic by definition.
Not unlike rubber also, her feet would expand if heated (temperatures that aren't hot enough to harm her though) and on a hot day she would have to wear larger shoes, normally larger flip-flops or sandals. If they were to expand though, she'd just put her feet in some cool water and they would revert back to her normal size.
While she keeps pretty modest about the flexibility of her feet generally, she has pulled tricks on people and freak them out, usually fake an injury and pretending her foot snapped or something. One boyfriend she had for instance, Susanne sit on a futon with him and she had no shoes on. She at first was fiddling with a pencil, then she put it under her foot and gripped it with her toes (big deal a lot of people can do that) right before arching her foot and curled her foot in and rolled it down to the heel so her foot was hugging the pencil tight. The boyfriend couldn't believe what he was seeing, especially since Susanne was so calm about it. She slid out the pencil as her foot remained in that position. She has done that with her feet many times before and even walked on it just out of curiosity. She has even curled them the other way, up towards her shin, not unlike The Wicked Witch of the East.
