Thank you.
Hurriedly dressing back into my usual clothes outside the tomb, I winced in pain as I put on my shirt with my burned arms. Desperate to heal my arms, I took a risk and picked up the sorceress' severed head, taking out her tongue and holding her unconscious head to make her lick my burned arms. Her healing spit soothed the pain, but then I heard noises coming from within the tomb. Her head remained unconscious, but the rest of her was evidently enraged, judging by the sounds. I quickly covered the lid with a thick layer of dirt, ensuring that it could not open, before running as far away as possible, carrying my treasures with me. I knew I couldn't go back to the village I'd come from. They would kill me for grave robbing, so I decided to head in the opposite direction
After about a half a day of wandering through the forest, I came across a hut connected to a path that led to a nearby village, a village three hours away and different from the one I'd come from. I was intrigued and decided to take a closer look. To my surprise, the hut turned out to be a magic shop. "Lucky me" I thought to myself that I should find out what kind of luck I'd find in the shop. When I opened the door and entered, an elderly lady welcomed me, offering me trinkets that she had for sale. I refused them all and instead suggested that I had something she might be interested in, the head of a sorceress. The lady picked up the head to inspect it and told me she'd give me 15 gold pieces for it. That's when the head suddenly woke up with a headache, asking: "Where am I? Who are you? Can someone give me some water? I'm thirsty." The shopkeeper quickly threw the head at me and said, "I can't take a living one." The head, alarmed, retorted, "What? You want to kill me? Where is my body?" The shopkeeper then whispered to me that I should kill the head before giving it to her, so I went outside and put the head on a nearby tree stump. She warned me, "You will die in pain when the rest of me gets to you," before I stabbed her in the scalp. She screamed out in pain, "You won't be able to kill me so easily! Didn't you see what happened in our fight, you idiot?!" she replied before I slicied a circular hole in her head. Inside I saw her brain, flashing with color and pulsing, but surprisingly small. Her brain looked like that of a demon's, smarter than a human's, but its size had reduced it enough to give her only slightly above average intelligence, at least that was my guess. Demons usually have small, compact brains, which makes sense when you look at them. They can make complex agreements, cast huge spells requiring a master's level of skill and knowledge, and still have animal heads that could only fit brains capable of eating and running. Even demon lords have brains just a bit bigger than the average human's. Hers was small, like a normal potato. The rest of her head was filled with liquid mana and other potion-like substances. Despite having her brain removed, she still spoke, her speech limited to simple words describing her feelings, her gaze fixed and her expression angry.
When I entered the shop, the woman was still waiting for me with the dead head. I only gave her the brain. "I'm sorry, but I can't kill her; every part of her keeps living," I told her. "That's too bad; she had a lovely face, especially when she was sleeping," the shopkeeper replied. I went back outside to sell the rest of her head in pieces. I sold her eyes separately; one was used as a gemstone in a necklace, and I kept the other as a trinket. Both eyes were encased in glass spheres for protection, with the eye on the necklace being encased in dark glass, making it look like a black pearl. Her skull was used as a component in a magical alloy. The alloy was soft and malleable, making it a perfect material for creating custom equipment quickly. Her brain was smashed into a fine paste and mixed with other ingredients, turning it into an intelligence-boosting gland for temporary use. Her hair was woven into elastic cloth of a brown hue. Her scalp skin was turned into leather and dyed brown. Her flesh was dried and then powdered to use as a potion ingredient. Lastly, her tongue, teeth, lips, nose, and ears were stored for later use since there was no other way to use them at the moment. I got my payment from her and her eye as a trinket.
I was happy from these results that I got from grave robbing. Well, not really, since I had a feeling that her body was getting closer and closer and soon, she will show me my demise.
