Happy Halloween 2025
Carlie jerked awake, looking around. What happened? Where was she?
She’d just sat down at home, turning on her TV, then a sharp pain. Now she was here.
The lights were dim, so she couldn’t see much beyond them. Yet she knew she was standing. Her wrists were bound. Where was she? What was going on?
Her heart beat fast, and her senses flared to life. She felt the blood pumping through her veins.
That’s when she saw it, past the lights. A camera was set up with a clock on top, counting down. Three minutes. Three minutes to what?
She looked up at her hands, her wrists being bound by what looked like steel cuffs. She twisted them, trying to get out, knowing she had to. Whatever was going on here, she wanted nothing to do whatsoever.
Two minutes. Her heart-rate kept going fast as she looked around, trying to see. The dim light came into focus a little better, and she saw the room she was in. All of it was black, only this place she was in and the camera.
One minute. She tried to get control of her breathing. This panic wasn’t working, whatever she was in. In a few seconds, she’d find out what this was about.
With ten seconds left, a door opened, and a hooded figure, clad in black with a black balaclava, entered. He carried something.
When the clock reached zero, he stood in front of the camera, speaking with a modulated voice. “This livesteam is going out across the world. For those on the Dark Web, welcome. You are about to see the reality of magic.”
Reality of magic? “What are you going to do to me?”
A soft chuckle came from him. “You’ll know.”
At that, he lifted what he was carrying, and Carlie started screaming. The chainsaw roared to life as she lost it. No coherent thought as he lifted it up and drove it into her waist.
Carlie’s scream continued as she felt the cruel teeth of the saw ripping through her body. It went slower than she expected as the ripping continued through to the other side.
She felt her lower body drop away as her upper body fell limp in the bindings and she lost all touch of consciousness.
At least that was what the trick was supposed to be. She counted to five in her head, then opened her eyes, looking around trying to appear frightened. The guy looked into the camera. “Happy Halloween.”
As he turned it off, he reached over and turned on the lights. He pulled off the hood and balaclava, showing his face. “That was great, Carlie.”
Carlie let her upper body dangle for a bit. “Do you really think so?”
He gently lifted her upper half up, loosening the cuffs. “Yeah, baby, you totally sold it. Are you okay though?"
Carlie shrugged as he set her upper half on the table. “Of course. You know how much I like this.”
He sat down beside her after he helped her legs onto their feet. She walked them over to her upper half. “It was a great idea, doing this. Yeah, I know you like to have this happen.”
He was about to lift her top half onto her bottom half, but she stopped him. “Not just yet.”
At that, he just laughed, understanding.
