Masks

Based loosely on the fave “Skye is twice the woman she was before.”

“I promise you, Carlie, you’ll never feel the same again.”

That was Jess, Carlie’s best friend. She was trying to convince her friend to try something out, something Jess couldn’t describe. It was like she was forbidden to talk about it or something, but Carlie could see it, her friend was feeling so eager for her to try this, whatever it was. And she knew her friend would never do anything that would harm her. “Okay, what do I have to do?”

Jess jumped in excitement, grinning, before giving her directions to somewhere tomorrow.

The next day, as Carlie approached the address Jess gave her, she hesitated for just a moment. It looked like a rundown warehouse, not somewhere for any kind of life-altering experience. Jess popped her head out. “Oh good, you’re here. Everything’s all set up.”

With her friend there, Carlie followed her through the door. The lighting wasn’t great, just a few overhead fluorescent lamps overhead, and, in the middle, two tables pushed together. Carlie stopped. “Jess, what is this?”

Jess patted her arm with a grin and a shove. “Just go to the table. The one to do this will be here in a moment.”

Carlie sighed a little, not entirely sure if she could trust Jess in this. She walked towards the table as Jess disappeared. “I’ll be right over here.”

Carlie looked at the tables. Nothing was out of the ordinary about them. The whole thing seemed weird, and, for a moment, Carlie was about to excuse herself and leave.

Then he came in. The figure, dressed all in a black, loose fitting robe, wearing an ornate mask, glided towards her. Carlie nearly jumped, but something about the way this figure moved told her he wasn’t a threat. As he reached to where the tables were, he stretched a hand across them. Carlie got the message. She was to lay down on the tables.

It took a bit of help for Carlie to git up on there. She wasn’t entirely a tall person. But, the moment she was up, the figure gently moved her body into position, on her back, and made a gesture for Carlie to wait.

She did so, still not sure, but feeling anxious about it at the same time. Jess would never want to hurt her, never want to do anything that would harm her. Whatever was going on here, Carlie would be okay.

From somewhere she never saw, the figure brought out a huge buzzsaw. Carlie gasped, somehow knowing who it was meant for. She knew where her body was positioned. Her waist lay right over the gap between the two tables.

She gulped once, still trying to assure herself that Jess would never want to hurt her. She’d never hurt her.

The saw made an eerie whine as it was turned on, the air splitting rapidly under the spinning teeth, hissing as it did so.

Carlie felt the knot in her stomach, knowing what was coming. The figure paused, gazing at her. Somehow, she knew what he was waiting for, her consent. Hesitatingly, Carlie nodded. She knew Jess would never hurt her.

The saw came down with a wicked whine, and Carlie felt it plunge into her body. She expected pain, blood spraying all over, but there was none, just a strange sensation, a wonderful one. She felt herself orgasm as the blade finished bisecting her.

The figure withdrew the saw, but Carlie knew. She could still feel her feet, moving them. And she realized she felt wonderful. She expected loads of pain, searing hot, but it was so pleasant, like she was submerged in the most luxurious bubble bath with her favorite scents, sipping champagne and eating the most delectable chocolate.

The figure moved to the side of the table where her top half lay, quickly pulling it away, increasing that wonderful sensation exponentially by how far away her halves were.

As that happened, Carlie became aware of something, something she’d never felt before. I hope she wasn’t too scared. I hate to scare her.

That was Jess’s voice, but not her voice. I hope she can forgive me.

What was that? Was she hearing Jess’s thoughts? “Jess?”

She knows.

As she looked around, the best she could do in her truncated form, she couldn’t see Jess anywhere. The figure finally spoke. “So you can read minds/”

That made sense, but he spoke in a mechanized artificial voice. “I guess. Who are you?”

She doesn’t know.

With that, the figure reached up, pulling off the mask.

It was Jess. “Yeah, I guess it was a surprise.”

Carlie looked at her, wondering. “What is this?”

Jess smiled and pulled up a chair beside her friend’s upper half. Another friend told me about this, a way to release untapped potential. It’s never the same for everyone. I’m empathic, as it turns out.

Carlie laughed, realizing Jess never said a word of it. “So, does it stay when I’m put back together?”

Oh yes, but not quite so strongly. Don’t know why. That was said with a smile, a closed lip one.

Carlie could still feel that wonderful feeling. “How long can I stay like this, though?”

Jess’ eyes twinkled.
