Pizza Party
Based loosely on “GiHalf 10” in the faves folder and also loosely on the “Pizza Slicer” from Ms. Frankie.
Carlie walked into the crowded park, immediately feeling uneasy. She didn’t do well in crowds, but, hey, it was supposed to be a pizza party, celebrating another year of some kind at work. The pizza was good, though. Always. But, then, she figured, very few kinds of pizza weren’t good. Pineapple was the only exception.
A lot of people crowded around the table with the stacks of pizza boxes on them as Carlie approached. Sure, she felt jostled a little bit, being as petite as she was, but that didn’t matter to her as she got there and saw something different. They had to slice the pizza themselves this year, and there were quite a few slicers already scattered all over the place. As she sliced off a piece for herself, she had to wonder.
Sure, she knew about illusionists, knew that, on the big TV productions, when they cut a woman in half, it wasn’t for real. She was scrunched up in a part of the box, sometimes with more room than was assumed. It still seemed uncomfortable to her, but there was also something else, some deep desire to know.
She was never sure what made her really wonder, but she had to know, and she felt that it was time to figure it out. She swiped one of the clean slicers as she took her pizza away, sneaking off to a corner of the park where she could do this without being observed. “If this works, great. If it doesn’t, no harm done.”
She said that to herself as she placed the paper plate on the bench. She really didn’t know what she was doing as she hiked her shirt up just enough above her belly button. For a moment, she hesitated, not sure what she was doing. But she was committed now as she picked up the nice, sharp slicer and pressed it into her flesh.
Nothing happened at first until she rolled it. She felt it then, the blade cutting into her. She could feel it and see that it had actually sliced into her a little bit, but not much. Strangely, there was no pain, just this eerie sensation that it was a good thing.
She laughed softly to herself as she made another slice, cutting deeper. No blood, no pain. Just the feeling that something good was on the way. She cut deeper, each slice making its way deeper into her.
After a few moments, as she kept slicing, she realized how incredible this was. Here she was, cutting into herself, but there was no pain and no blood. She didn’t feel anything amiss as she kept it up, but, as she realized this, she knew something else would probably be a bit more of a problem.
She reached her backbone, still not feeling anything wrong but feeling so good it was almost poetic. She felt like she’d eaten the most divine chocolate while soaking in the warmest scented bubble bath as she reached there, still not sure how she’d get through her spine, but she kept going and the good feelings intensified after a brief moment of difficulty. She cut through, still feeling intensely good, and out the other side, finally severing the last part of her waist.
As Carlie sat there, she knew she was in halves. Sooner or later, someone would find her, she knew, but she didn’t care. She pushed up, separating her halves and maneuvered her top half over on the bench as she picked up her pizza slice.
Munching away, she looked at her lower half. A layer of skin covered where she’d been cut, as if to keep her insides in, but she had to know. She brushed her fingers over it, feeling a sensitively eerie tingling sensation all through her divided body. She smiled at the sensation, still just eating her pizza slice.
As soon as she was done, Carlie had another idea. If it worked on her waist, would it work on her neck?
A few moments later, her head lay in front of her torso, also separated. It was weird, it was intense, but it also felt so good. Why, she wondered?
After a few moments being in pieces, Carlie decided she’d better get back to the party. She picked up her head, trying to align it perfectly before pushing down. Nothing happened. She tried again and nothing happened.
She thought for a moment it might be due to the order in which she divided herself so turned her head so she could watch her upper and lower halves try to line up and get back together. Nothing.
“Help?!”
It was a soft cry, but someone heard it and came to her rescue. Or at least they tried. Still, nothing could get her back in one piece. There were many suggestions as Carlie became the center of attention, her parts being moved to where everyone could give their ideas.
But, still, nothing happened.
