The Haunted 5; Interesting

If anything sounds even remotely familiar, go ahead and comment what you think it might be.  We are getting close to finding the ghost here.

Carlie stared at the apparition. “Who are you?”

The strange woman spoke in the familiar voice. “You know me, mate.  I’m Nicky.  I’ve been here for a while now.”

Carlie stalked over to her. “You’re not Nicky.  I can see that.”

She looked shocked at that declaration. “Yes, I am.  Why are you saying that?”

Carlie wasn’t sure why, but she wanted to shove her. “WHO ARE YOU?!”

As soon as she did, Nicky stared back at her with a completely surprised expression.  It seemed impossible, ridiculous even.  Here she was, someone else, someone Carlie didn’t know, and now she was her friend again.

As they ate, Carlie wondered about it.  Who was that Hispanic woman?  Why did she sound like Nicky? “Uh, Carlie, can I ask you something?”

She looked at her friend, the distraction welcome. “Sure, what?”

Nicky hesitated a moment, visibly not sure. “You cut yourself in half and beheaded yourself the other day.  What does it feel like?”

The idea made her smile. “Let’s clean up and go to the magic room.”

It was a few minutes later when the two women were in the room when Carlie told her. “I can’t really tell you what it feels like, it’s different for everyone, but I can show you.

She saw Nicky hesitate with the suggestion. “You know it won’t harm you.  You’ve seen it.”

At that Nicky agreed. “What do I need to do?”

Carlie instructed her to lay down on one of the tables as she found a nice, sharp blade. “it also depends on what you’re divided with, so this is kind of basic.”

She heard Nicky’s breath get a little sharp as she placed the blade on Nicky’s newly bared waist. “Ready?”

Nicky nodded and Carlie took one cut into her.  As Nicky gasped, Carlie kept cutting. “Oh, this feels good.

Carlie smiled at her friend. “Hold on, it gets better.”

Nicky moaned in pure pleasure as she kept cutting into her, and Carlie smiled as she wondered what would happen.  After a moment, she had to stop.  The spine was always the best part, but it felt a little more resistant.  First time?  Probably.

As Carlie cut into Nicky’s spine, Nicky screamed in pleasure, yelling out God’s name.  Carlie finished cutting and Nicky lay there, almost exhausted but smiling big. “That was incredible.  But why did it only hurt at the beginning?”

Carlie pulled on her legs, separating her halves, and then helped Nicky sit up. “Not really sure.  I mean I’ve been cut in half since I was 16, able to do it to myself, and I’m still not sure.  My guess is that it’s not biological what happens, but magical, so our bodies naturally produce the counter-effect after that brief moment of pain before the magic takes hold.”

It made sense to her, and she saw Nicky consider it before offering to cut her friend’s head off too.

After the shenanigans, as Carlie was getting ready for bed, Nicky only restored a couple of hours before, she had to smile.  Carlie really did wonder if her friend knew more than she was letting on, but the question from before still plagued her.

What was going on here?  The voices, the eerie feelings, the fact that her clothes completely vanished except for those she was able to wash, and then Nicky changing appearance.

Something weird was happening, something she knew had to have an explanation.

The idea that her parents were probably visiting her seemed pleasant, but she knew better.  Who was that woman that Nicky appeared as?  What was really going on here?

As she fell asleep, once again in pieces, she was still wondering.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she knew something was wrong.  Even with her head and body separated, she always had a sensation of what was around her and where the parts were.

But this felt different.  It took her a moment, as her mind woke up, to figure out that, sometime during the night, her blanket and sheets had vanished.

And not only that, but her torso as well.

She only had her hips, legs and head.
