In the Park
Based on the Fave “Cute girl in half 2013a”
Carlie still wasn’t sure exactly what happened. Sure, for as long as she could remember, she had a fascination with magic, but she also knew it was mostly bunk. She knew that things that illusionists presented were just that, illusions of things that were impossible.
But she still went to the show in the park. It wasn’t a big production, mostly just some kids that wanted to get into it and show off their skills as prestidigitation. It wasn’t a bad performance, but then they asked for a volunteer.
Carlie didn’t even raise her hand. Children up front were bouncing up and down, hands raised, yelling to be chosen, but the performer stepped off the stage. “No, my friends, we need an older volunteer, one who knows of magic, one who is ready to experience the real thrill.”
He went right to Carlie and asked her to join him on the stage. She shrugged. It could be fun.
As he instructed, Carlie got up on a table before he produced not one but two solid brackets. He asked her to take off her shoes and to lay down. As she did so, Carlie felt a little thrill. What was he going to do?
He slipped the bracket with the larger opening over Carlie’s waist and the other over her neck. She held her breath as he produced two jigsaws, both gleaming in the sunlight and both with a loud roar. He slipped one into each of the slots in the brackets and she had to gasp.
She knew it was a trick, knew that she’d come to no actual harm, as he powered up the saws and pushed them forward.
Carlie gasped as she could swear she felt something penetrate her side. She gasped again a moment later when the same sensation came to her neck. She could’ve sworn that something really was going through her in two places but that couldn’t be. Experimentally she checked to see if there was any blood spraying, but nothing.
The kid stopped before he’d gone through. “My friends, you see that we have not one, but two sharp and real saws penetrating Carlie here. But she’s unharmed and I’m going to prove it to you.”
Carlie heard his voice change direction and knew a moment before it happened what he had in mind. As he ran a finger along each of the soles of her feet she couldn’t help but laugh. She really could feel him tickling her feet, but of course she could.
He returned to the blades, starting them up again and Carlie felt something different. There was a slight tingle as he started the devices before he moved on, pushing the jigsaws through her.
After, he pulled the brackets off, helping Carlie up. She felt good, felt like this was something she’d never forget as she got her shoes back on.
And she still felt good not ten minutes after the performance. She attributed the sensation of feeling something inside her to the power of suggestion, hearing those devices go across her body instead of through it. But the good feeling stayed.
Still, what else was supposed to happen? As she shrugged and kept walking, her foot caught on something…
Carlie blinked a few times as she softly hit the grass. “What in the…?”
As she rolled over, she saw something impossible. About a foot away and slightly cockeyed lay her legs, completely severed from the rest of her.
Experimentally she twitched her foot, watching as it moved. She bent her leg and saw that her lower half, for lack of a better term, was still connected, but no idea how.
Still, it felt great. It felt incredible to be in halves like this.
But she had a problem. What was she going to do now? She was in halves out in the open.
Carlie thought quickly, then maneuvered her upper half to line up with her lower half and pressed them together. The good feelings stayed, but she was able to get up and walk like normal, quickly leaving the park and heading towards home to think about thing.
She sat, thinking about things for a few minutes as soon as she got in the door. Although she was careful, she had a suspicion that her rejoining her halves in the park wasn’t permanent. Not if her good feelings had anything to indicate.
Experimentally, Carlie pushed down on the arms of her chair. A part of her expected...hoped...that she’d just push herself up as normal, but, instead, there was a soft pop. She could still feel the chair under her butt, but she also knew that she’d elevated a few inches. She let her top half down, but not back to the normal position. No, it felt better in two. But that wasn’t the only place where a jigsaw had cut through her.
She reached up, holding onto the sides of her head as she lifted up, hearing another soft pop. Her head lifted clean away from her torso as she gasped. It felt so good, being in pieces.
But how to make sure she didn’t fall apart in public again? No, she didn’t want to go back to normal, it felt so good being apart, but she had to make sure she didn’t accidentally lop her head off or trip and fall again.
Even so, she knew she’d have a lot of fun with this.
