Possession

Carlie still couldn’t believe it.  How did Jess pull it off, being able to really sneak into the back of The Museum of Magic?  Sure, Jess knew about Carlie’s love of all things magic, even knowing her secret desires, but this was really above and beyond. “Man, I can’t believe it.”

The museum’s front had all the posters, and all the illusions Carlie could imagine.  All the classic posters were there, as well as modern ones.  Names like Denninger, Randi, Harbin, even Houdini were listed, as well as Penn & Teller and David Copperfield.  On display were all the classic illusions, from the Table of Death to the Divination boxes.  There were even displays of psychic illusion, dispelling a lot of the myths of what the museum called the “Dark Side of Illusion.”

And then there were the sawing illusions.  Of course, Carlie wanted to look at them, but felt a little disappointed that they were all behind security features.  Still, she could see a couple of them and saw that, yes, the girls that got in those boxes weren’t really sawn in half, they were just curled up, out of harm’s way.

Could that be it?  Could her fantasies just be fantasies?  Jess grabbed her hand. “C’mon, there’s more.”

That’s when she took her back to the super-secret part, the part only a very select would see.  Carlie knew she’d probably never figure out how Jess managed it, but Jess entered the right combination first time and the sealed room opened.

As Carlie looked in, all she could see was a single guillotine and a single sawing box, but this box was really more of a framework than anything else.  Carlie walked over to it, looking at it carefully. “Wait, where’s the illusion for this one?”

Jess smiled at her with an eerie smile all of the sudden.  Something was wrong. “I’d like to give you a big treat, Carlie.  Why not try on the costume over there?”

As she pointed, a two-piece, flamboyant costume seemed to just appear out of nowhere.  Carlie had no idea what Jess was up to, but Jess was her best friend.  If she wanted Carlie to have something, she’d better accept.

Carlie went over to the costume, taking it off the hangar and found a private area to change in the small room.  What was really going on here?

Carlie came out, surprised that the costume actually fit.  Being as petite as she was, she was certain it would be too big, but it fit perfectly.

Jess grinned something very wrong as she directed Carlie to come over to the table with the framework on it.  Carlie hesitated a moment, but she knew that Jess couldn’t hurt her.  These things were supposed to just be illusions. Still, where were her legs supposed to go?

Jess opened the framework. “Go ahead.  Get in.”

Carlie climbed up on the table. “If you’re sure.”

Jess smiled, nodding as she did so.  There was definitely something wrong here.  Carlie climbed into the framework, her bare waist lining up with the division in it.  She was nervous before, but this scared her to death.  What was she thinking?  How did this work?

Jess closed the framework, directing Carlie to stick her wrists through the slots near her neck.  After Carlie did that, Jess pulled out something that Carlie barely caught sight of, a large, obviously sharp handsaw.  Carlie gasped as Jess slid its narrow shape into the slot on the top of the box. “Jess, I don’t think that…”

Jess put a finger on Carlie’s lips. “It’s okay Carlie.  Everything will be okay.”

Carlie felt the teeth of the saw on her skin, about an inch above her navel.  Was Jess really going to do it?  What was wrong with her?  What was going on?  Wha….AAAAHHHH!

Jess slid the saw through the groove and Carlie felt waves of fire and agony wash over her.  It felt so sharp. “STOP!”

Carlie tries to steady her breathing before she saw Jess, a strange look in her eyes and a strange grin on her face, look over the side at her. “Why?”

Jess stroked the saw again, sending Carlie through another wave of anguish. “Jess, you’re cutting into me!”

Jess pushed the saw again. Carlie, feeling the pain of it again, realized something odd as she knew her skin had definitely parted.  She couldn’t feel any blood oozing out of her, which she knew would be a definite sign she had been seriously hurt.  What was Jess doing?

She tried to steady her breathing as Jess pushed the saw into her again.  Yes, she could feel the saw inside her now, definitely cutting into her, but there was something else.  The pain wasn’t as sharp this time.  Carlie could only shake her head side to side, trying to kick the framework open, as Jess continued.

As Carlie felt her best friend continue to saw her in half, something else seemed to appear.  There was a light coming from somewhere.  Was Carlie dying?  She wasn’t sure, but she knew that she should’ve at least passed out by now.

But she was still awake. Sure, her heart was pounding in her chest, but it was still beating.  She was still breathing.  The saw was definitely halfway through her body, but she wasn’t feeling as much pain anymore.

The light in the room seemed to move, almost as if it was guiding Jess.  What was going on here?

Carlie felt a wave of…something…pleasure?.. as the saw started cutting into her spine.  She heard herself moaning as it cut into her spinal cord, then even screaming in orgasmic ecstasy as it finished.  A couple of moments later and Carlie felt the saw leave the other side of her body.

Carlie lay there, not sure. She was alive, she knew that.  She could still feel her feet, she knew that. Experimentally, she tried kicking her feet and felt them respond.

And she knew she was in halves.  Jess suddenly seemed to wake up out of her trance, realizing she was holding a saw that had divided Carlie. “Ohmigosh!  Carlie, are you okay?”

Carlie couldn’t really describe what she was feeling.” Yeah, I think so.  But what was that?”

Jess pulled the saw out of her and opened the framework. “Carlie are you….”

Jess stopped. “What’s wrong?”

Jess took Carlie’s newly freed hand and guided it to her waist.  Carlie could feel it then, a clear division in her body.  She was still in halves.  Carlie thought for a minute, then felt a slight grin.  Not really sure, she pushed down at her sides and felt her body separate.  The feeling was exceptional.  Weird, but exceptional.

As Carlie lifted her top half onto the cut end, still managing to twitch and kick her feet, she started giggling.  It had been a fantasy for so long, now it was for real.  Jess found the display placard and read it out loud. “The Torrini Box: Known as the only sawing experiment where an assistant was horrendously butchered while the magician tried to really saw her in half, it’s rumored that the box is cursed.  Anyone who is unworthy will meet the same fate until someone who is fitting will desire to truly have it happen.  It’s also rumored to be haunted by that first sawing victim.”

Carlie looked over at the guillotine, wondering what sort of secrets it held.  Could her other fantasy come to life as well? “Jess, read the placard over there.”

Jess moved over there. “The Poisson Guillotine:  Rumored to have been one of the first devices used as an illusion during the imperial reign in France, it was also retrofitted for use as an actual means of beheading a century later during the French Revolution.  Never to be used under any circumstances by anyone who does not know precisely what they’re doing.”

Carlie had a desire to stick her neck in there but for one small problem.  She moved her top half onto her bottom half, pressing the cut ends together, but nothing happened. “Uh, Jess?”

Jess tried to help her stick herself together again, but still nothing happened.  The light appeared again, but then slowly faded away, leaving Carlie stuck in half.

How would she get herself back into one piece?  How would she even be able to maneuver around if she couldn’t?  But the biggest worry was…

How would she explain it to the museum curators?
