Guided Meditation
Carlie couldn’t believe she’d finally gotten her hands on this one. Sure, she’d been learning a lot about meditation for a couple of months now, always willing to go a little bit deeper every time.
She’d been warned about this particular program, though, warned that, unless she was ready, she’d be surprised as to what it could bring.
Carlie started the recording, ready to immerse herself as she crossed her legs and sat, closing her eyes and letting herself listen only to the voice. “As you begin, synchronize your breathing to the waves you can hear, let it fill you with peace as you move forward. Focus on the sound, letting nothing else disturb you. If a stray thought comes in, let it go, don’t focus on it as your breathing becomes more even, more relaxes. Now we will begin focusing on your chakras….”
As she listened, she could feel herself beginning to go into that state that brought her so much contentment before, that state of pure transcendentalism. But then the voice started to say something strange. “…as we focus on the throat chakra, feel it. Know its there. Know that no matter what, it will remain as we begin to feel the chakra’s energy. Feel it as it moves and even separates itself and…”
Carlie screamed a moment later as she broke out of the meditative state. Her head fell off her shoulders and she had to grab it, bewildered and a little scared that she now held her head in her hands. Her eyes darted around, not sure what was happening as the voice continued unheeded. Her heart raced, but she knew she could feel that. “What the heck?”
Somehow she reached over and shut the recording off as it was saying something else. “You probably have already noticed some physiological changes in your…”
What was going on here? Was she insane? She did learn that meditation can cause certain physical changes, all for the better.
She lifted her head up, looking at where it used to be on her neck. Smooth skin was there, and she felt a little curious. She moved her head to the crook of one of her arms and used her other hand to touch that area. It felt tender, a little ticklish. She even started to laugh a little, wondering how she could still talk and make sounds with her mouth with her neck cut apart like this.
But she couldn’t go out like this, not with her head in her hands. Sure, for Halloween, it might be fun, but not like this, not now.
She tried placing her head back on her neck, but nothing happened. As she held her head in her hands a little longer she remembered something about the recording not being finished.
It took Carlie a moment to collect her thoughts and to try and figure out how to do this before she ended up reclining, placing her head where it normally should be, turning it back on. In a few moments, she was relaxed and in that meditative state again.
It took a few minutes before she got to the part where her head initially fell off and the voice continued from where she shut it off. “…It is perfectly natural to feel a little alarmed at your state now, so don’t let it disturb you. As you continue to focus on your throat chakra, remember that it is a whole, that, although it can be separated, it is still a whole…”
Carlie felt her neck rejoin, sending a wonderful sensation through her body. In fact, the whole experience with her head off felt good, like the meditation suggested it should.
As the meditation wound to an end, Carlie shut it off, checking to see that her head really was reattached, and then wondered. There were two other tracks on this cast. What else could happen?
As Carlie reclined again, she turned on the second track, listening as, this time, the voice told her to focus on her navel chakra. Carlie smiled as, this time, her body split in half.
She shut off the recording again, knowing this and feeling it as her hips and legs moved as if they were still attached as she set her top half upright. Again, she touched the skin, smiling because of the wonderful pleasure she felt. Why did she feel so good being in pieces like this?
And what would happen if she played the first and second tracks one after the other? And what would happen on the third track?
