Premonitions

I’ve been working on this one for a while now.  Hope you enjoy it.

Carlie sighed as she opened her eyes, the feeling of pleasure as she woke from the dream again. That feeling went away as she brought one hand to her neck and the other to her tummy. “Okay then.”

She got up, still having the images of her dream play before her again.  It was the same dream she’d had every night for two weeks now, each time getting clearer and clearer.  Last night she even saw a face that was helping her feel so very good.

She sighed again, still wondering what all these dreams meant.  She knew a little about dream interpretation, even asking one of her professors for her take on it.  But she had no idea except, perhaps, it was a bit of sexual repression that she felt like she was looking for.  Only problem with that was most schools of psychology that dealt with dreams came to the same conclusion.

No, she needed to figure this out.  She needed to know what was going on.  It became a sort of obsession of hers, seeing the same dream every night.

A few friends, not knowing about this dream, suggested they go to a club that night.  Carlie admitted she could use the distraction.  She was doing well in her studies, and she knew the dream would likely return that night.  She just hoped that she’d figure it out soon.

The moment they entered the club, Carlie felt a catch in her throat.  The lighting, the stage, everything felt just like her dream.

As if guided by invisible strings, Carlie walked to where it felt the most familiar, the same place she was in her dream.

As the first act ended, she felt a little deflated.  Nothing had triggered that feeling during the performance, but then the main act came out, a magician who looked oddly familiar.

Carlie had always loved magic.  Ever since she could remember she just loved watching how impossible things seemed so normal.  This magician, named simply Plausible, seemed to be very well versed in his art as he made things appear and disappear, even transmuting a few doves into a rabbit.

Then he stopped. “You’ve been a wonderful audience, but I’m sure you know a little bit of fact.  Once an object is torn, it’s supposed to be impossible to have it restored to its perfect form again.”

With that, he did a torn-and-restored trick with a large sheet of paper. “Maybe that’s a fact, maybe It’s not.  Now I know what you’re thinking that I had an extra paper laying around me somewhat. Let me prove to you that it’s indeed entirely Plausible that something cut apart can be restored.  For this, I’ll need….”

At that, he stopped, staring right at Carlie, before he pointed her out. “You.  Yes, I need you up on stage here with me.”

Carlie felt herself stuck for a moment before Plausible beckoned her up with a smattering of applause from the crowd.  As she somehow found herself on stage, Carlie looked around. “Now you do seem familiar, but have we ever actually met before?”

Carlie shook her head. “No.”

When asked her name, she gave it, and then Plausible suggested something extraordinary.  He asked her to untuck her top and lay down on a bench that was sitting behind the stage.  Carlie did so, feeling such a strong sense of déjà vu, as it still seemed like it was in the dream.  She smiled as she laid down, knowing what was coming next.

Plausible turned to the audience. “Can something that is cut to pieces be able to retain the essence of what it was before?”

He reached underneath the bench, producing an imposingly large katana.  Carlie gasped, recognizing that as well. “Carlie, are you willing to participate in this demonstration?”

Carlie smiled. “Oh yes.”

Plausible lined the sword up next to her now bared waist.  Carlie could feel the sharpness of the blade on her, knowing what was coming next. “Ready?”

Carlie grinned and nodded. “Oh yes.”

There was a brief flash of pain as the katana bit into her flesh, followed almost immediately by a sense of wonder.  She was expecting the same wonderful feelings from her dream as Plausible pressed the sword into her body, neatly slicing through her.  The sensation she felt blew that expectation away.

He kept pressing down, slicing a little bit as he did so and Carlie moaned in pleasure as she could follow the blade’s progress through her body.  She knew there wasn’t going to be any blood, nothing that would indicate he was harming her.  She knew it.

Carlie gasped once in pure joy as the sword passed the halfway point, continuing on down to her backbone.  She giggled a little, knowing that there would be the most intense sensations there.

The feeling was beyond fantastic as he cut through her spine, then out her back, fully dividing her body.

Carlie couldn’t believe how good she felt as he took her upper body, pulling it a little bit away, showing the clear separation between her two halves.  Carlie looked up at Plausible, smiling like a schoolgirl, as she managed to adjust her top half to rest on the cut end. “Are you okay Carlie?”

She smiled, nodding kind of giddy. “Keep going.”

Plausible turned to the audience. “As you can see, Carlie is clearly in two pieces.  But what about making it three?”

With one quick stroke, he used the katana to neatly slice through Carlie’s neck, completely decapitating her.  He caught her head, setting it down to face the audience in front of her torso. Carlie couldn’t help but grin at the magnificent sensation she felt.  Everything had lined up perfectly, even the part where Plausible invited a few people up to actually check and see that Carlie was, indeed, cut to pieces.

After a few minutes, Plausible returned to the task at hand. “But now back to the initial question. Can something, or, in this case, someone who has been cut to pieces be restored?  Several of you have verified that Carlie is, indeed, in pieces, no doubt there, but can she be returned to her original form.”

Carlie never  had this part of the dream before, always waking up before this, so she didn’t know what to expect before Plausible picked up her head then pressed it onto her neck stump, eliciting a whole new slew of wonderful sensations as Carlie felt her neck rejoin.

She had to admit, a part of her didn’t want to be put back together all the way.  But she somehow knew she had to be.  Plausible helped her lay back down before pressing her waist back together, Carlie laughing in pleasure at the sensations.  Plausible offered her his hand to help her up and, as she stood, back in one piece, both of them taking a bow at the presentation’s end, Plausible slipped her a note.

As Carlie sat back down, she found the note.  It read only 5 words. I dreamed of this too.
