Hazy
For the record, I’ve never seen any of the “Hangover” movies or even “Dude, Where’s My Car.” This story kind of gave birth to itself as a sort of apology to @MagicalFirefly Carlie for all those times I’ve left her in pieces.
Carlie woke up, feeling pretty good. She sighed because she knew why. She’d felt that way so many times before, the feeling of waking up in pieces.
That feeling of having her body separated had her sighing in pleasure again before she came fully awake. Yes, she was in pieces. Her torso and her feet were nearby, but she couldn’t get a lock on where her lower half was. She thought for a moment, not sure what was going on, before she managed to pick up her head and get that wonderful sensation when she rejoined with her neck.
She looked around, now able to do so. Sure, she was in her bra, and her feet, when she managed to find them, were bare. What happened to her? Where was her lower half?
She often cut herself to pieces before going to sleep, but she usually had full conscious of what she did. Carlie always had such great dreams when she did that, although she hadn’t figured out why being in pieces felt so good.
She had known she could saw herself in half for a few years now, the intense pleasure of that experience still burning in her memory and had figured out how to cut off her head and her feet. All of that felt so good.
But she usually remembered what had happened. A thought clicked. She found her phone and dialed the number. Her best friend answered. “Jess? It’s Carlie. I woke up in pieces, but I have no idea where my legs are.”
It took Jess a few minutes to get there, long enough for Carlie to manage to get a top on. Why was she only wearing a bra when she woke up? Then another horror hit. What if, wherever her legs were, they were just as vulnerable? What if someone found them and was doing unspeakable things to them?
No, that thought quickly died. She could feel her hips and legs and they were in a spot that felt safe and soft. She just couldn’t pinpoint them.
As soon as Jess got there, Carlie and she talked it out. They realized that they’d gone out last night, doing something. Jess decided they had to figure it out, thinking that might explain Carlie’s missing part, so Carlie got on her computer.
It didn’t take too long to realize that they must’ve gone to a magic show, but not to any of the hacky illusionists that were in town. No, to find a real magician meant they had to really search out the lesser-known ones, the ones that wanted to fly under the radar.
Ever since the Fox specials, real magicians kept to themselves. They didn’t want anyone to call them fake, especially since so many illusionists were out there. Even so, they had to make a living.
With that in mind, they found a possible location. With Carlie still only in half, Jess carried her down to the car, her feet in her hands. Carlie spoke to them. “I promise, we’ll get you back where you belong.”
Jess laughed, hearing that as she jumped in and started the engine. “Talking to yourself is one of the signs of mental instability you know.”
Carlie gave her a glare, then laughed. “It depends on the context of the conversation.”
They drove to four different clubs, Jess asking if any of the regular employees recognized her from last night. Only one of them did, but they didn’t have a magic act last night. Carlie had to sigh when Jess got back in the car. Jess laughed, seeing what Carlie was up to. “Playing with yourself again, I see?”
Carlie sighed again, enjoying the eerie sensation of massaging her detached feet. “Don’t judge.”
It was at the fifth club where they hit paydirt. Jess was told that, yes, there was a magician booked there and that, yes, she and Carlie had attended last night. Jess picked up Carlie’s upper half again, Carlie making sure her feet were along for the ride, and went in.
The back of the club wasn’t very inviting, but Carlie could feel it. She had a sense of when magic, real magic, was around and she could feel that now. She also realized she could tell where her legs were as they went and knocked on the door of “Mr. Amazo”.
A disheveled looking man, about mid-30s answered. He looked a little bleary eyed for a moment, then immediately perked up. “Oh. Well, I’m glad you found your way back.”
Carlie scoffed at him. “Back? It’s like you weren’t expecting us or something.”
Mr. Amazo led them into his dressing room, just as shabby as Carlie expected, and offered them a seat on his old, 70s era couch.
He sat in the desk chair opposite them. “Tell me, what do you remember?”
Carlie nearly flew at him except she didn’t have any legs to spring up. “We remember going out, but not much else.”
Amazo, or, as he invited them to call him, Aaron, rubbed his face in his hands. “I do sometimes go a little overboard. And I do apologize. Here, let me help you remember.”
He stood, walking over to Jess, asked her to close her eyes, then put a thumb in the middle of her forehead. A moment later, Jess was smiling big, sighing with contentment. Carlie watched, not fully understanding, when Jess giggled a little, then opened her eyes, smiling up at Aaron. “Well thank you. That was something I’ll remember now.”
Aaron stepped over to Carlie as she winced away. Jess touched her hand. “Carlie don’t worry. You’ll see what happened and understand everything.”
Carlie nodded after a moment, closed her eyes and felt Aaron’s thumb on her forehead…
…Carlie huffed as she and Jess left the club, a little buzzed. No magic show that night. “We might as well go home, don’t you think?”
Carlie looked at her phone, watching it for a moment. “No, there’s one more club. We have to go there and see if they have a magic show.”
It took a moment or two before they found it, a club premiering a “Mr. Amazo.” Jess laughed at that. “You’d think they’d have a cooler magician name than that.”
Carlie could feel it, though. There was magic in this club, real magic. This guy might not be too bad.
As they got their drinks and sat at the table, Carlie still amazed that their fake IDs worked, she started to feel it get stronger. This guy was going to be good.
But the beginning of the show was pretty uneventful. Doves appeared, a couple of card tricks, even one lame penetration and Carlie was ready to leave. “Hold on. I can feel that someone in the audience is not too excited about the show.”
Carlie jerked up at that, Jess suddenly very much aware as Mr. Amazo came down from the stage, walking between the tables, then stopping right at theirs. “Would you two lovely ladies like to join me onstage?”
Carlie sighed, knowing what this would likely entail. Oh, she didn’t mind being an assistant, but what kind of cheesy effect would she be called on to participate in. She did better magic by herself at home.
Amazo turned to Jess first. “What is your wish, Jessica?”
She hadn’t told him her name, and that was a point in his favor. Jess smiled. “I’ve always wanted to be like a bird.”
Amazo took one of her hands. “And do you want me to show you how?”
Jess nodded before he waved his hands in front of her eyes. A moment later, Jess floated off the stage, smiling as she flew up, higher, then over the audience. There was no doubt that she was flying as Amazo directed her back to the stage.
Carlie saw that Jess was in a hypnotic trance. Very well then. “Carlie, what is your fondest wish?”
Carlie could almost hear it now. “I wouldn’t mind being a bit taller.”
Amazo looked at her for a moment. “You know something of magic, don’t you Carlie?”
She shrugged. “A little.”
Amazo chuckled. “More than just a little, I think. Shall we show these people the kind of magic you know?”
Carlie sighed. “Might as well, but you don’t have to hypnotize me.”
Amazo smiled at her before she found herself laying on one of the tables in the audience, completely surrounded. There was no way anyone could mistake her for being a fake. Amazo had convinced her that she needed to take off her top to make sure that people knew, which she did, willingly. As she lay there, she wondered what kind of cutting implement she’d be subjected to before she felt Amazo simply yank on her legs.
The amazing sensation of being halved overcame her instantly as she felt her lower half divide at her waist. She gasped for a moment, feeling it as she usually did, but she had to check the division.
No jags, no tears, just a smooth, clean cut. She got up on her elbows to see Amazo take off her shoes and tickle her feet. She had to laugh at the tickling, convincing even more people that, even though they weren’t attached to her anymore, she could still feel her feet and her legs. “But let’s go one step further.”
Amazo pulled off her bare feet, passing them to one of the gentlemen in the audience. As Carlie expected, he began to tickle her. It was kind of unfair, but she didn’t mind. She loved it.
Amazo, as expected, pulled on her head, decapitating her without a second thought. She scowled at him playfully. “You should’ve asked first.”
Amazo simply smiled at her before she heard his voice in her head. Carlie, I need to do something for you and I need to have your hips and legs to do it. Jess will drive you back home, but you two will remember nothing of this until I can finish what I started….
…As Carlie opened her eyes she glared at Aaron. “What did you need to borrow my lower half for?”
Aaron sighed, then opened a cabinet. There, laying in repose, was Carlie’s lower half. “Now don’t get too upset with me. You’ll see what I did once you’re back in one piece.”
Carlie instructed Jess to get her top half over to her lower half, feeling something slightly different as her two halves neared. As they did so, she felt something in her back, something she hadn’t felt before.
As she rejoined her two halves, she gasped in pleasure as something happened. A moment later she reattached her feet then stood up.
The first thing she noticed was that Jess didn’t seem as tall. She looked around, realizing that nothing seemed as high as it did before.
She felt her body, suddenly realizing that her abdomen was a little leaner than before, a little more stretched out. “You made me taller?”
Aaron just smiled at her. “All I could manage was 3 inches, but, yeah, I needed to extend your thigh bones a little before you reattached yourself and the rest of you caught up.”
Well, she’d still be doing her regular stuff, but she knew that she wasn’t as small as she used to be. She thanked Aaron as had Jess before the two of them headed out, wondering what other mischief they could get into.
