The Inheritance
This story was inspired by Ms. Frankie’s three-part rendering of two girls who end up sawing each other in half. Blame her if this doesn’t go out well.
Katie pulled into the long drive, not believing Laurie’s luck. How in the world had she gotten this? As she pulled up to the house, no, mansion, she was absolutely flabbergasted.
Sure, she and Laurie had been friends for as long as she could remember. She could even remember Laurie talking about her Uncle Mark and Aunt Peggy, and even saw one of their shows once. But she had no idea how Laurie ended up inheriting her uncle’s entire estate.
Especially since they’d been dead for 3 years.
As she pulled up, Laurie practically bounded into the garage, full of cars, where Katie parked. She hugged Katie, then spread her arms wide. “Welcome to my home.”
Katie had to know. “How in the hell did you get this?”
Laurie sighed. “You know Uncle Mark and Aunt Peggy couldn’t have kids. They kind of adopted me as theirs, even though my parents were still alive. Well, they left all this to me in their will with the provision that I do not get it until I turn 25. Well, honey, I’m 25 now, so it’s mine.”
Laurie giggled at the notion, then led Katie inside. She claimed she only opened the door earlier today and hadn’t really explored anything in the house at all. She led Katie upstairs, telling her that she remembered a few things about the house, and led them to Aunt Peggy’s changing room.
Although none of the clothes were likely to be their size, Laurie insisted they play a little dress-up. Katie was honestly surprised, though, to find that clothes she thought might be a bit baggy on her actually fit quite nicely.
Both girls ended up wearing the same style halter top while Katie chose some pants and Laurie a small black skirt. Katie was honestly thinking about that one time when she and Laurie, as College roommates, decided to do a little bit of experimentation. Both girls were very fine, and both had long lists of boys who wanted to be with them, but they wanted to see what it would be like to be with each other.
After that night, Katie continued to see her boys, but Laurie seemed to stop. Katie long suspected that Laurie might have a thing for her.
They went downstairs to try and find a liquor cabinet, but all they could find was one bottle. Still, it seemed to be full, so they decided to toast Laurie’s new home. After a few shots, they realized the bottle hadn’t emptied out.
The idea hit both of them at the same time, Katie was sure. Laurie took her hand and led her to the “secret room,” the only room she wasn’t allowed to go into when she played here as a child. The idea came to Katie that, maybe, there was something more at work in this house than simply nice furniture and a big house. Maybe, just maybe, although Uncle Mark and Aunt Peggy billed themselves as The Great Marko and Margaret the Magnificent, a pair of famous magicians, they didn’t use illusion.
The secret room took a little effort to open, but, when Laurie stated her name, the door opened easily. Inside, there were dozens of practical stage effects, but Katie noticed something very odd about them. The sword basket, usually designed so that the girl inside could have plenty of room to move around in, was incredibly tight. The zigzag didn’t have a black border on the outside edge.
And the sawing box was honestly very narrow, so narrow that Katie was certain she couldn’t pull her legs out of the way. What’s more, the slot for the saw was off-center.
Laurie picked up the saw, a delighted look on her face. “Katie, if this place is really magic, then you have to do something for me.”
Katie didn’t like the sound of that but looked at Laurie’s eyes. Yes, the clothes that appeared baggy suddenly fit. Yes, the single bottle of liquor seemed to be unending. But was Laurie actually suggesting what she thought she was suggesting. “What?”
Laurie handed her the saw, grabbed her hand and led her into the parlor. “You have to saw me in half.”
Katie sat, stunned, for a moment as Laurie arranged some of the furniture. “C’mon, you know how to do it. Saw me through my waist.”
As Laurie lay down, her arms behind her head, she winked at Katie. “C’mon. I dare you to.”
Katie hesitated a moment. Sure, there seemed to be something strange about this place, but could it all really be magic? Could Laurie have inherited a magic mansion? Katie placed the sharp end of the saw on Laurie’s middle. “If you’re sure.”
Laurie smiled big and nodded. Katie drew the saw towards her, watching it sink into Laurie. Laurie winced a little as that happened, but Katie saw that there was no blood. Laurie gasped for a moment. “Go on.”
Katie sighed, then pushed the saw forward and back again. Seeing it now fully in her friend, Katie looked at Laurie’s face, watching the bliss in her eyes. “How do you feel?”
Laurie waved a hand at her. “Keep going.”
Katie took to the task a moment later, sawing into Laurie. Laurie gasped and sighed, like she was experiencing something great, as Katie continued to bisect her.
After another moment, the saw went through Laurie completely. Katie sighed, watching as her friend looked around. Laurie pulled on her elbows, separating herself. Yes, she’d really been sawn in half.
Laurie moved her legs experimentally, watching with fascination as they moved without being attached to her. After a moment, she tried sitting up, and struggled for a bit before she could stand. The look of sheer joy on her face had Katie wondering. “How does it feel?”
Laurie laughed. “You have got to try this for yourself honey.”
Katie shook her head, but then thought about the fact that she’d just sawed Laurie in half. There seemed to be only a moment of pain, so she started to wonder. What would it feel like?
As Katie lay down on the furniture, Laurie got her top half set upright. “Ready?”
Katie adjusted herself a moment, wondering what the hell she was thinking. It happened once, but what if it didn’t happen again? Would Laurie lose the house because she murdered Katie? That thought came and went fast as Katie reluctantly nodded. “Just do it.”
Laurie put the saw on her waist and Katie winced. She could actually feel the teeth biting into her flesh, and it wasn’t pleasant. Laurie pulled the saw towards her and a flame of pain shot through Katie. She was sure she screamed, but the next sensation more than made up for the pain. Laurie sawed a little deeper into her and she was taken back to the last time she’d had sex. That one didn’t end very well, but the next cut into her had her feeling like she was orgasming.
That feeling went on, building as Laurie sawed Katie in half, clear until Katie felt the saw go through her spine. It was the most intense, pleasant sensation she’d ever felt.
As she lay there, knowing she was in two, Katie had to breathe a little. She could feel herself coming down from the intensity, but the pleasure was still there. She looked up at Laurie. “Wow.”
Laurie was grinning, ear to ear. Then another idea hit her. “I wonder if….”
Before she completed the thought, Laurie put the saw to the back of her neck and started sawing forward. It didn’t take long to sever her neck, but she forgot to hold her hair and her head came toppling off.
All either girl could do was scream before Laurie’s head hit Katie’s with a thunk and both sunk into darkness pretty quickly.
Katie felt herself waking up the next morning, barely remembering what happened the night before. There was something about a house and magic and getting sawn in half and Laurie. As her eyes focused, she realized she was looking at Laurie’s head.
It wasn’t a dream. She reached down and felt that she still was in halves. She called Laurie’s name until she, too, woke up with a big smile. “Hello lover.”
Katie scowled. “We didn’t do anything like that Laurie. We got drunk and we sawed each other in half, and then…well…”
Katie picked up Laurie’s head and turned it to the halves of her body. “Oh wow.”
Katie turned her head back around, looking intently at it. “Yes, but here’s the big question. How are we supposed to put ourselves back together?”
