An extrajudicial quasi-police force deployed for the purpose of detaining and murdering people on the mere suspicion of aiding or looking like someone who maybe probably overstayed a visa is functionally indistinguishable from every other violent paramilitary gang throughout history whose overt goal was to subjugate ethnic minorities and dissenters, and the people of Minnesota are showing the rest of us how to organize and fight back against those who would exercise such brutal might-makes-right authority.
