Two of the Au Ra-exclusive hairstyles in FFXIV, including the one I use for Artemis, give you extra horns that do not match the colors of your primary horns, regardless of whether you're Raen or Xaela. This fact greatly upsets me, so I headcanoned the white "horns" near Artemis's temples as not horns at all, but little cotton buns. They are a fashion statement that make her look slightly more threatening and serve no other purpose. Hence, they're not in this picture because they're not necessary.

I'd still like to think two of her real horns would curl up and back like that if she were born this way, though. Credit to Princess Madelyn for that idea~
