More commission work for the boss.

I remember talking to Lonestranger recently and noticing how he was getting more pageviews per day than I was, for basically doing nothing. Not that this bothered me much because I realize this happens on deviantART, where networking matters much more than talent... That said, Lone freely admits that he can't draw, which is why all he does (or used to do) is design characters and then ship the actual art duties off to other people. Mostly his personal staff artist (a.k.a. me =p).

So really, in my opinion, the Angel Falls group was the best thing to happen to him. It gave characters like Arachnia, Sahlia, and Polygirl (pictured here) exposure in a setting that works for them, and it encouraged him to start writing stories about his characters rather than have his gallery just be a showcase of commissioned art featuring them. Polygirl isn't just "that one mechanic with the four arms and self-replicating powers" anymore. She has an actual role in the greater story and a fleshed-out personality. As the tale of Angel Falls continues, Poly and Lone's other characters have nowhere to go but up.

Hope you enjoy your 200th, Lonestranger!
