Thrift shops always seemed to have at least one magical item that stood out to Minerva— if not more. They were like magnets for weird, kitschy, or just randomly mystical stuff. Probably because of people tossing out their dead relative’s things and not realizing that they were a mage, or whatever. Minerva didn’t really care too much about where the magical junk and stuff came from, she was way more interested in just buying it for herself.
But today, ugh, there just wasn’t anything. Plenty of musty, mothball-scented clothes, all depressingly un-enchanted, some weird pottery people-looking things, also shamefully mundane, and even the jewelry hadn’t gotten her a single hit!
Grumbling to herself, Minerva cast another detection spell over the box of random junk that she’d been rifling through. Nothing again. The next box— also nothing. And the same pattern continued all the way down the shelf, until she hit the very end, still with nothing to show for her efforts.
“Aw, darn…” She muttered. “Really?” She slid the box back onto the shelf and got ready to leave, before freezing in place. It would look really weird if she left without anything… she had just spent almost three-quarters of an hour wandering around the store, what would the clerk think if she just waltzed out without a single thing to show for it? Ahhhhhh… She fidgeted nervously, torn between wanting to just go home ASAP to try and salvage the rest of the day, and wanting to find something so that the clerk wouldn’t think that she was being picky at a freakin’ thrift shop. It was dumb to care, she knew that, but stilllllll…
Biting her lip, Minerva glanced back at the box that she’d just socketed back onto the shelf, then spun her gaze back to the clerk, who was staring around the store, looking bored. Crud. No way to sneak out either, not without some awkward conversation.
Minerva peered back into the box, trying to find something cheap. A dollar, maaaaybe two. Agh, why was everything so expensive? Fifteen bucks for some dusty bear dishes? Seriously? She nudged those aside with an offended huff— at least have the dignity to be magical for that price —and rummaged through the box again. Turtle thing, nope, cute but no. Old parchment— achoo! —snff, also no. Why was that five dollars? Who was buying that?
Something cheap, something cheap… oooh! Minerva saw the one dollar tag and didn’t even think, she just plucked whatever it was out of the box. It turned out to be a key, a heavy, iron-wrought one that looked surprisingly fancy for just a dollar. But she wasn’t going to question it, she had her thing, and now she could leave~. Humming, Minerva rushed to the front, in a rush to get back home (but dreading the walk back. If only she had learned those teleportation spells…)

Well, that was about two hours out of her day. Minerva sighed as she walked up to her place, putting her hands into her jacket pockets to grab her house key… only to feel nothing at all in them. Crud. She patted herself down, getting more and more frantic with each pat— they had to be here somewhere! She wouldn’t just leave without them!
There was only so long that she could convince herself of that, though. After a few more seconds, she sighed, and slumped her shoulders. Great. Today had gotten even crappier, sigh. And she couldn’t even knock and get an answer, either. Claudia was out at work, and so was Jessie. Maeve was probably too engrossed in whatever new game she’d picked up over the weekend to even notice Minerva banging on the door, at least until her food delivery arrived, and who knew how long that would take.
And Alice, who knew what she was up to. Maybe making a mess in the kitchen again, like the last time when she’d mixed up the fridge and the microwave. Or downstairs sitting on the washing machine— despite everyone’s attempts to tell her otherwise, she still thought it was a “pleasure cube”. Whatever that was.
Either way, Minerva was locked out. Ironic, since she had just bought a key. She nervously hummed to herself and rubbed the antique iron key between her fingers, slowly dragging it out of her pocket as a weird intrusive thought came to mind. It was ridiculous to even entertain the idea that the key would actually unlock something, but it couldn’t hurt if she tried?
Blushing, and looking around to make sure no one was watching her, Minerva brought the key up to the lock and slowly pushed it inside. No resistance. Feeling emboldened, she pushed the rest of the key shaft into the lock.
It fit perfectly. Even when she jiggled it, there wasn’t any pushback, the key just wiggled like it was made for the lock. Which was impossible— unless the key was magic somehow. Hmm. Well, at least she was inside now… wait a second.
Minerva perked up when she finally made the connection. The key was magic! That was pretty cool, she could use a skeleton key. That was what they were called, right? Neat! She twirled the key around her finger— and almost immediately dropped it, wincing when it clattered against the ground. Yikes. She bent over with a little huff and scooped it back off the ground, and tucked it neatly in her pocket so she could put it with all of her other cool magic stuff later.

After the key had redeemed the trip out to the thrift store, Minerva was feeling a lot better. She hummed to herself as she tested the key out on the other doors in the house, and grinned every time it unlocked them. It re-locked them, too, all it took was another twist in the opposite direction and click, there it went. Super cool~.
She couldn’t help but wonder what else the key worked on. Who would make a magic key and have it only open locks? The only problem was, she didn’t know what to test it on. Using her stuff was the obvious choice, but she’d promised Claudia to stop messing around with random magical stuff without telling someone first. Something about freaking her out… well, she was happy to do it for Claudia, if it made her feel more at ease.
Maeve it was, then. Technically, if she used it on Maeve’s things, it would count as telling someone else. Slyly grinning to herself, Minerva tucked the key into her pocket and made her way down to the basement. Usually it was locked… but that wasn’t a problem anymore~. Stifling a giggle, she stuck the key into the keyhole and twisted, listening to the satisfying clunk when the deadbolt sank back into the door, which swung open a few seconds later.
Inside, Maeve was buried nose-deep in her monitor, playing some MOBA game as usual, with her back turned to the door. She didn’t pay Minerva any mind at all, fully engrossed as she was, and it was only when she died in-game that she finally noticed the shadow looming behind her.
With a grunt, she tore off her headphones and turned around, squinting up at Minerva. “You can just leave my food at the door next time. Knock or something. I didn’t even think it was here yet…” She looked down at her phone, then back up at Minerva. “Wait, how did you even get in? I locked the door?”
“I got in with this!” Minerva held up the key with a bright smile. “I found this magic key at—“
“Cool.” Maeve murmured, then turned back around and put her headphones back on.
“Hey! Come on, Maeve!” Minerva pouted. “Look, all you have to do is twist it like this, and— oh, crap.”
There had been a light, just barely noticeable resistance when Minerva had made the twisting, locking motion in Maeve’s general direction, but she’d ignored it and filed it away as just being the weight of the key. No way the key would work on a person!
But Maeve’s compacting body was evidence that it did! Minerva watched, stunned, as Maeve spun back around with an angry glare, catching a glimpse of her roommate’s lips as they fused together and melted into her face— before a thin, keyhole-shaped hole carved itself out of the missing space.
“Mmphhh mmm mmmfff! Mmgghh mfff mmm mm mmmhh!!!!!” Maeve angrily waved her arms— before stumbling back into her chair when they snapped against her chest and locked into place, folded over her boobs. She squirmed as her body kept moving on its own, starting to panic a little when her knees bent and made her kneel on the ground. She struggled against the magic as it began to fold her body in on itself— with her torso slowly drifting into place between her bent legs, her head bookended by her knees and her arms squashed behind her thighs.
Minerva absentmindedly wrestled with the key (which was stuck mid-air, half-turned) as Maeve’s angry huffs got quieter and more sporadic. She looked like she was frozen in the middle of a sit-up, about to lean back down— except her position looked a lot less comfortable, with everything squeezed as tightly as it was. Parts of her body were beginning to compact in on themselves, like her arms, which were starting to flatten against her chest… were they merging with it? Minerva crouched down to get a better look, forgetting about the key as she stared at Maeve.
Maeve squirmed, her eyes burning with frustration as she met Minerva’s curious gaze with one that screamed, “WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?”. But she couldn’t hold the look for very long; her eyes fluttered, and an airy moan slowly made its way out of her keyhole. Her body had just tightened again, filling up all the spaces between her limbs and torso until every inch of Maeve’s body was touching another inch. Her snatch, just barely visible on the very bottom of her changing figure, had been pretty much vacuum-sealed against her loose sweatpants… and the outline of her vulva was pressed flush against the cloth.
“Wow…” Minerva breathed, her eyes drifting down to Maeve’s crotch. She slowly paced around Maeve’s body, taking it in from all sides, checking out the tiny window of flattened sideboob on both sides of Maeve’s increasingly dense body, before taking a peek at her back, where a little imprint of her buttcrack was visible, sort of the same way her pussy was visible. Maeve’s hair looked really flat, almost like… tattoo flat, like it wasn’t even hair. She reached out and brushed her hand against it, noting that Maeve’s back was firm, and smooth, and that there wasn’t any difference in texture between her hair and her back.
Maeve’s slit twitched as she struggled again and wobbled from side to side— it flattened against her body, just like all of her other features had, locking in place as just another frozen decal. Another breathy huff trickled out of Maeve’s “mouth” when her efforts to shake off the magic just made her body compact again— this time turning the soft, curvy edges of her body into straight, stiff rectangular corners. Her eyes frantically darted around as her body started to become more and more cuboid, and a hot blush crossed her face when the pressure that both her legs and her torso were putting on her boobs grew!
She couldn’t stop her eyes from fluttering, or fight down her darkening, cherry-red blush. Soon, Maeve had been reduced down even further— a small, cat-sized cube made from her body and clothes, with a very prominent blush plastered across the flattened, horny face filling the upper third of the front-side facet.
Maeve’s toes wiggled, a final attempt at freedom. There wasn’t any other movement, though— apart from the angry narrowing of her pupils.
“Oopsie…” Minerva sheepishly patted the top of Maeve’s body. “Didn’t think it would work on a person. I know how to fix it, though! So don’t you worry a bit!”
Maeve gave Minerva a dirty look in return (out of the corner of her eye, she’d noticed that her base had just exploded and she’d lost her game).
Minerva seemed unfazed, though. Mostly. Maybe a little indignant— she held up her hands and defended herself when Maeve’s glare intensified. “Hey, it was a perfectly innocent mistake! And I said I could fix it… Maeve?”
Minerva stooped down again, and brought her face up to Maeve’s. Was it her imagination, or was there a haze coloring her friend’s eyes?
With all thoughts of restoring Maeve forgotten, Minerva looked into her eyes, intrigued by the fuzzy, faraway fog clouding Maeve’s pupils. Literally clouding them, they were turning a flat, matte shade of gray— and Maeve had completely gone still, even her eyes weren’t moving anymore…
“Owie!” Minerva held her tailbone, wincing as the key bounced off her back and clattered to the ground beside her. What the heck!? Why did it stop—
A sudden tugging sensation forced Minerva onto her knees! She gasped when she felt her hips bloom with a spicy, buzzing warmth, realizing what had just happened to her! The key must have twisted on its way down and locked her body too! With a nervous gulp, she tried to ignore how nice and warm her crotch was getting— focusing instead on getting her body to stop moving on its own.
If only she could just tune out the heat pulsing from her butt! Minerva whined when she felt her ass and pussy fusing together into one hollow keyhole, and wiggled her butt, trying to shake it off (to no avail). It felt weird! And… good, but she was not going to let herself freeze in place with the same blush Maeve had gotten stuck with! Gritting her teeth, Maeve quivered, trying to use some inflation magic to puff herself back up and break the mold that the key was forcing her into!
Buuuuut her attempts, even as magical as they were, were about as effective as Maeve’s. With a sharp yank, her neck forced her to look forward. She dropped even further to the ground, down to her hands and knees now, and she couldn’t help but moan when the firm, tight pressure pushing in on all sides of her body got just that much tighter.
Minerva winced when her elbows jutted against her thighs and her heels rammed into her butt, wiggling her keyhole-ified rear in an attempt to shuffle over to the key. If she could just put it up her hole… She moaned again when her elbows suddenly bent ninety degrees— now her hands and forearms were on her front facet, framing her face… which itself was starting to sink in and flatten out, just like the rest of her. Behind her, her feet were doing the same around her ass, trapping her body on her knees and elbows— like a human pet!
Minerva half-heartedly wiggled towards the key again, moving slower and slower as the sides of her thighs flattened out and her butt lost its curves in favor of a tight, pointy edge. Apart from being locked in place, this… wasn’t that bad. She got why Maeve had turned red at the end, this felt good. Like really good. Like… kind of sexy good…
She moaned, and stopped moving, stopped struggling. Someone would unlock her later, and until then, it couldn’t hurt to just enjoy this. Her face froze in a pervy, slack-jawed moan, but Minerva didn’t notice. She was busy enjoying herself, succumbing to the key's magic as it started to lock her worries away too.
Minerva’s eyes dulled just like Maeve’s as she sank into a blissful trance…
*****
Ahhhhh… back from work. Claudia sighed and set her purse down on the dining room table, and stretched her arms, thankful to finally be out of her heels for the day. Mmmm~. She could already feel herself relaxing, and Jessie and Alice were on dinner duty tonight, so she was free to just go upstairs and take a nap, or do whatever else she liked! With a satisfied smile, Claudia rolled her neck and wiggled her shoulders, then blew out a short, sharp breath and made her way to the stairs.
But Claudia paused, and turned back around after passing by the basement door. For starters, it was unlocked, not to mention, there was just a brown paper bag full of food sitting there, untouched, going cold. It was very unlike Maeve to leave food alone for that long— usually it got snapped up within seconds.
She wondered if her friend was alright… if maybe she’d run afoul of one of Minerva’s magical items, or if it was something more serious. Nervously pursing her lips, she backtracked and slowly opened the door, bracing for the worst…
Only to see two… cubes? It looked like someone had printed a person onto a box…
Minerva must have done something again. Sighing, Claudia rubbed her forehead. So much for relaxing. She very cautiously tiptoed towards the cubes, blushing when she saw the looks on their faces (and their very exposed private bits). God, why did Minerva’s magic always end up so dang lewd?
She didn’t even know how Minerva and Maeve— she assumed it was Maeve —had ended up like this. It could have been any number of things, honestly. But at least both of them seemed relatively alright… maybe better than alright, based on the looks they had.
Well, the least she could do was bring them out of the basement. Claudia stepped towards her cubed friends, furrowing her eyebrows when something metallic skittered across the floor. She must have accidentally kicked a loose coin or something. Or maybe a fork, Maeve did sometimes lose things on the floor.
Whatever it was, it probably wasn’t important. Claudia kneeled, and with a huff, hoisted her friends into her arms and brought them out of the basement to be cured… eventually.
