I want to start with some sports commentary: Go Red Wings, and Mel Tucker is an awful shit who should never work in sports again.
This side story exists for exactly one reason - Doreen's perspective of Chuck, and the Chuck presented in the dream sequence, both suffer from a bit of distortion, and I wanted to give Chuck a bit of his own voice.
Not that his voice is, you know, great. He reflects a lot of people I've known in my life who are kind of shitty to women and know better. Still, there's a bridge between the Chuck who texts Quinn about his "cousin" in Part 4 and the Chuck who teases a Quinn who he knows is a woman about getting action from Celia in the epilogue, and I wanted to show the groundwork for that bridge being built.
So that's it for this story. I'm not ruling out the possibility of a Doreen side story in the future - I certainly left some parts of her story untold - but it's not currently in the works.
