So after seeing reading time, I decided to combine Chapters 9 and 10 and put an early wrap on the main story of The Week That Changed Me!
This story didn't go where I initially planned, but I'm happy with where it ended up. I initially just wanted to answer what might happen if a TGTF story featured small physical changes instead of large ones - it just seemed like a lot of wasted energy to make someone change five inches in height when that wasn't strictly necessary for a TG change. Along the way, the story evolved, and became a story about making the person we are the same as the person we present to others, and I liked that story too.
There were a lot of ideas I left on the cutting room floor, mainly related to Quinn having more discomfort with the sex changes, but I decided that I wanted this to be a story of comfortable self-discovery than one that was uncomfortable or heavily dysphoric or euphoric. I think that Quinn accepting both genders of himself/herself walked that line fairly well. Explaining why Quinn started changing or kept spontaneously changing was never in my plan, and I think that Quinn's self-acceptance reinforced that choice and made it easier.
So with this story reaching an end, what's next?
Well, first we get to see a little bit about Chuck in a TWTCM side story on Monday,
Then, I have some holiday content - a winter solstice story of board game fan fiction on 12/21 and a winter celebration-themed one-shot on 12/25 that's in a world I may explore further in the future.
Then, in January, I'm starting a regular Monday-only update schedule, alternating between two stories. The first story is a serial of undetermined length that investigates a question I have about a common TGTF caption and story trope I keep seeing, and the second is a five-part work of board game fan fiction.
