Doing something short and hopefully sweet for US Thanksgiving. This side story, like most I'll probably do for The Week That Changed Me, covers an event that happens outside the knowledge or perspective of the main narrator (who is named here for the first time), in this case the pre-date phone call between Celia and Doreen. This story also establishes a specific time for the story, and yes it does put Celia and Quinn's date on Thanksgiving. That wasn't planned, but I'm not changing it - it gives me a reason for Quinn to be off work Friday apart from "because it works for the story".
Next week we go back to the main story and see how things go for Quinn after the date. Will she finally read Virginia Woolf?
