Employment: Kayla works as an up and coming reporter for the Hazeldale Tribune. She is the first Asian American reporter the Tribune has hired (not so much to their credit, but rather to their shame seeing how long it took). She takes a lot of pride in her work as a reporter, and has been aspiring to be one ever since she was young.
Hobbies: Loves to read, primarily mystery or romance novels. Is also a big fan of manga and anime. She spends most of her free time either reading or watching T.V., but also loves to travel. At 24 she's already visiting quite a few other countries, and is always looking to add to her list. Her main and favorite hobby of course is snooping! She loves getting to the bottom of a good mystery and goes all out when it comes to cracking a case!
Likes: Anime, good coffee (or bubble tea when she's in the mood), snooping, her best friend Madelyn, spending a cozy night in watching a movie or curled up with a good book, and fashion!
Dislikes: Ignorant people always making assumptions, handsy goons, her irritating "rival" at the Tribune Jennifer Lee.
Personality: Kayla is a headstrong young lady, determined to do the best she can in whatever she does. She's confident and isn't afraid to step out and take the lead. She's not particularly strong or athletic, but she makes up for this with her sheer will. She's fairly careful and methodical though and doesn't rush in without thinking things through first. She's very kind and loyal, and does her best to make others feel welcomed and included. That being said, she isn't afraid to give her good friends a hard time and joke around with them. Kayla also can't help but be incredibly nosy! She has a super curious personality, and once she sense a mystery afoot she just can't help but get herself involved! On the spectrum of introversion to extroversion, Kayla leans slightly introverted. Madelyn definitely helps her get out of her comfort zone though, and it's part of the reason why the two are such good friends.
Favorite Item of Clothing: She loves a good pair of boots! She has a pair of shiny white booties she loves to wear, as well as some sturdy black booties. You'll also rarely ever find her not wearing nylons! She's not sure why, but she just finds them to be the perfect accessory to any outfit! Plus, they keep her legs nice and warm in the overcast Hazeldale climate. If she's not wearing tights you'll find her in a pair of thigh high socks. This is another thing that she can't quite explain why she likes so much, but she's always thought that they add the cutest touch to almost any outfit!
Signature Looks: Her first signature look, is a plaid dress over a pair of tights. Under the dress she'll wear some kind of long sleeve shirt, usually a dark colored turtleneck. For shoes she'll usually pair this outfit with her white boots, but from time to time she'll bring out the black ones just to switch things up! You'll also catch her rocking a shirt and skirt combo with tights and flats. For this look she pairs a black turtleneck with a plaid mini skirt (not too short mind you, but short enough that it still looks chic). She loves to rock any cute look really, but you'll find her in one of these outfits most of the time!
