The rain pelted against the windowpanes of their fourth-floor room in the swanky Back Bay Hotel, crashing loudly into the glass and filling the room with its gentle sound. Kayla, tossed and turned in her bed, unable to fall asleep. She glanced over at Madelyn, who was sprawled across her own queen-sized mattress, her raven locks fanned out across the pillow like a dark halo. Even in sleep she was drop dead gorgeous.

While Madelyn might have been sound asleep, Kayla was still wide awake. She couldn't help but think about their reunion with Baleigh Sommers and Grace Summers the following day. It had been a year since they'd met them at the annual journalist convention. A lot had happened over the last year, and she couldn't wait to catch up. They had so much to talk about: their cases, their triumphs, their failures, how many times their own socks had ended up in their mouth...all that stuff. They had promised to keep in touch, but emails and phone calls were simply not a proper substitute for in-person hang outs.

As Kayla lay there, she wondered what kind of cases Baleigh and Grace were working on now. Were they still tracking down missing persons? Were they involved in any high-profile investigations? God, she couldn't wait to hear all about. Sleep alluded her as she tossed and turned, anxious for the next day. She would doze off every now and then, but would awake soon hoping it was the morning already. It never was...

Eventually, the sun began to peek through the curtains, casting a warm, golden light across the room. Madelyn stirred in her sleep, mumbling something incoherent before rolling over and nestling deeper into her pillow. Kayla sat up, rubbing her tired eyes, and glanced at the clock. It was finally seven o'clock. They had agreed to meet Baleigh and Grace at their office at eight, and so giving her and Mads thirty minutes to get ready and thirty minutes for transit they would nail that meeting time. Kayla Grace was not one to be late.

She swung her legs out of bed and padded over to her open suitcase that sat on one of the nearby chairs. Digging around she pulled out a cute outfit for the day, taking it with her to the bathroom to get ready.

Meanwhile, Madelyn let out a groan as she slowly began to wake up. "What time is it?" she mumbled, squinting at the digital clock on her nightstand.

"It's seven, Mads. You better get moving if you want to be ready for our meeting at eight," Kayla called out from the bathroom. "Don't forget, we're meeting them at their office, so we'll need to use public transit to get there. I do not want to be late, so if I have to drag you out of that bed I will."

Kayla peeked out from the bathroom, a toothbrush half in her mouth as she gave Madelyn a stern look. Slowly sitting up, Madelyn ran her hands through her long golden blonde hair. Kayla was so jealous of her best friends ability to look so beautiful without little to no effort. She was just in an old t-shirt she'd had for years (one that Kayla had initially loaned her), and her hair was all messy from sleep. Yet she was already looking as gorgeous as ever, the soft light from the window gently illuminating her flawless complexion and giving her hair a tantalizing glow.

"Don't worry, I've got this," Madelyn yawned, stretching her arms over her head. "Give me like...fifteen minutes and I'll be ready."

Kayla started a timer on her phone. "Okay, fifteen minutes starting now!"

Madelyn laughed, "Kayla Grace, you are brutal."

Fifteen minutes was definitely cutting it close, but Madelyn was confident she could be done by then. After all, she'd showered the night before, so all she really needed to do was touch up her hair and makeup and choose an outfit. Easy peasy.

She sat up in bed, swinging her long, blonde hair over her shoulder as she reached for the small makeup case on the bedside table. She opened it up, revealing a small array of cosmetics: foundation, powder, blush, bronzer, highlighter, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, lip gloss, and a few brushes and sponges. The hotel room had a nice big mirror hung on the wall near the bed. Sitting cross legged on the ground, Madelyn pulled out her supplies and went to work. She took her time to ensure that everything was perfectly in place. Once she was finished, she reached for her hairbrush and began to work through her luscious locks, taming the wild strands while being careful not to undo her subtle curls.

"How am I doing on time?" She shouted to Kayla.

"Five minutes left," Kayla replied.

"Perfect," replied Madelyn as she stood up, heading over to her suitcase.

Rummaging through the neatly folded piles of clothing, she found all the clothes needed to put together her outfit for the day. She started by changing out her sleep shirt for cozy cream colored sweater. It was soft and warm, perfect for the chilly winter air outside. Next, it was time to add some tights. She wanted her legs to have a nice bare look to them, but it was a bit chilly so she opted for a pair of nude pantyhose. They were delicate and fine-knit but thick enough to keep her legs warm. She took her time as she slid them up her legs, careful not to snag or tear the silky fabric. Thankfully they were incredibly durable, she had bought them recently and they'd help up incredibly well. She'd gotten the recommendation from Kayla who was no stranger to ripped tights. Thanks to how often she found herself tied up and gagged while working, she found herself going through an enormous amount of hosiery.

Next up, Madelyn slipped into a red faux leather skirt, sliding it up over her tights-clad rear before tucking part of her sweater into it. She planned to pair the whole thing with a pair of crisp brown boots. Grabbing a pair of long white socks from her suitcase, she slipped them over her tights before stepping into her boots.

"I'm basically ready," she said, examining her outfit in the mirror and adjusting her sweater.

Kayla emerged from the bathroom, both hands at work as she clipped in a pair of dangly gold earrings. She was in awe of Madelyn's ability to get ready so fast. Then again, she was a model, and while she always needed to look her best she sure knew how to do so as efficiently as possible.

"Color me impressed," Kayla made her way over to the front door, picking up her trusty loafers.

"What can I say," Madelyn retorted, "I am a professional after all. You look beautiful as ever by the way. Love that coat. Is it new?"

Kayla sat down on the bed, smoothing out her coat as she basked in Madelyn's compliments.

"Yeah, I thrifted it last week."

"Shut up. It looks brand new!"

"Guess the previous owner took good care of it, and better yet, I got a hell of a deal on it too."

Madelyn smiled, "of course you did. You always do. Okay, let me just put my boots on then I'm ready."

"Okay, I'll meet you at the door." Kayla stood up, taking one last look at her outfit in the mirror.

Her mother had always told her it was vain to "check herself out" in the mirror, but Kayla had grown out of that. She was hot, and she knew how to throw together an outfit. Why shouldn't she be able to appreciate that? Now, here she was, healing from her mother's overbearing asks, checking herself out in the mirror. And she was loving every second of it.

What was not to love after all? She was dressed well, in her new black blazer over a crisp white turtleneck. Her shirt was tucked into a short black skirt, and her legs wrapped in a pair of black tights. She was loving this new trend of wearing a pair of little white socks with shoes. After all, socks and tights were her favorite fashion accessory. To bring the whole look together, she had stepped into a pair black loafers. She felt cute, stylish, and sexy all at once. The best part about the look is that it was work appropriate! Meaning she could wear it to the office and while out in the field. The look was so versatile.

Kayla ran her hands through her hair one last time before grabbing her bag and following Madelyn out the door. Making their way to Grace and Baleigh's office, they arrived at their front door. Kayla was nervous. She had only met them once after all. Over text, they had told Kayla and Madelyn to just stop by at eight. They gave them directions to their office, and had told them to just head on in. Even though the sign at the door said "please knock" they specifically instructed them to not bother and just go straight in.

Confidently gripping the handle, Kayla pushed the door open and stepped inside. The office was beautifully decorated for as well as a small office above a bar could be. Perhaps more accurately it was cozy, but Kayla found cozy to be beautiful. There was a desk at the back of the room, lined with papers and books and a computer monitor. Kayla knew that sight all too well, her own desk at work looked similar. Such was the life of a reporter, always digging through documents and articles.

Baleigh and Grace had framed memories from their various cases on the wall. There were newspaper clips, photos, headlines, you name it! They were clearly proud of the work they did, and Kayla felt that pride as she browsed their escapades. Baleigh and Grace were clearly talented investigators. Speaking of which, Kayla turned around looking for the two of them. So far it was just her and Madelyn.

"Hey guys," Kayla tentatively called out, "it's Kayla and Madelyn. Hope we didn't spook ya!"

She awaited their response. But there was nothing. She checked her phone and shot them a quick text. Sitting down in one of the small arm chairs, Kayla tapped her hands on her knees.

Madelyn took a seat across from her. "They said to meet them here, right?"

"Yeah I mean I just checked and I just texted them...I'm not sure where they're at."

"Maybe they're late."

"Maybe," Kayla glanced around. "But look over there. That looks like one of their jackets. So clearly they were here."

*thump! thump! thump!*

There was a quiet thud that came from behind a door at the other side of the room. Kayla perked up, immediately going into high alert. There was definitely someone here, she saw the look on Madelyn's face who had clearly heard it too.

Kayla slowly stood up, walking over to door. There was a sense of tension in the air that was almost palpable.

"Baleigh, Grace?" she called out, knocking lightly.

There was still no reply...she was about to give up when she noticed the handle starting to turn. For a brief moment she felt relieved, but when the door finally opened she found herself face to face with someone who was neither Baleigh nor Grace!

"What the fummmph!"

The girl on the other side of the door grabbed Kayla, yanking her inside the closet and slamming the door behind her.

"Kayla!" Madelyn shouted, rushing over.

But she was too late. By the time she had reached the door, Kayla had been totally shuffled inside and the door was locked. Madelyn grabbed the handle, shaking it with as much strength as she could muster. It wouldn't budge. She could hear a scuffle on the other side though. It subsided quickly, and for a brief moment there was calm.

Then the door swung open again.

"Hey, you creep. Let her gommmph!"

Madelyn was grabbed now as the girl wrapped her arms around her and pushed her into the desk, bending her down onto it. Madelyn was able to turn her head, looking into the closet. There sat Kayla, her wrists tied together above her head as a length of rope connected them to the metal shelf behind her. She was missing one of her loafers now along with one of her white socks. Well, it wasn't missing, rather it was stuffed in her mouth!

"Mrrmmph nnrrmph ggmmmph!" Kayla screamed furiously into her sock stuffed mouth, thrashing about kicking her feet.

She wasn't alone. Next to her sat none other than Grace Summers. She was a bit more tied than Kayla at this point. She was seated down on her rear, but there was a lot more rope keeping her tied. Her legs were folded criss-cross in front of her, with rope tied around her ankles and legs keeping them this way. Her arms were pulled behind her back and tied together with even more rope. Like Kayla, she was missing not just one but both of her shoes, her feet bare save for her nylons.

"Mrrrmph hmmph!" Grace muttered incoherently through the thick socks that kept her gagged, her eyes narrowed into a frigid glare. Madelyn didn't need to be a mind reader to understand that above all else, Grace was annoyed. Annoyed at being ambushed in her own office. Annoyed at being tied up and gagged with her own two socks. Annoyed that she had this fun day planned for Kayla and Madelyn, only for them to end up in the same predicament she was in.

This whole ordeal had started earlier that morning as Baleigh and Grace were getting ready for their guests.

“God, when was the last time we dusted in here?” Grace shooed away a huge cloud of dust from the bookshelf. She had managed to get some dust on her outfit, which she immediately brushed off. While their office might have been a bit messy, Grace took care to make sure her appearance wasn't. Today she was wearing a white turtleneck sweater tucked into a patterned skirt. Her legs were adorned with a trusty pair of pantyhose and knee high black boots. The long beige coat she'd been wearing outside was draped neatly across her desk.

“Hey, less complaining and more cleaning,” said Baleigh, hard at work fluffing the pillows on the couch. “They’ll be here in an hour!”

Baleigh had gotten dressed up for the occasion too. Her outfit simple yet elegant, pairing a green dress with buttons all down the front and a black long sleeved shirt underneath it. Her legs were tucked into a pair of sheer tights, and her feet into a pair of black ankle boots. Her gorgeous blonde hair flowed freely down her shoulders, compared to Grace's curly black hair which was tied up in a tight bun.

”Oh,” said Grace, “that reminds me. Weren’t you going to run and get coffee?”

”That’s right! Oh my god, I totally forgot. Yes, let me go do that. Do you want…”

”My usual, of course. Text Kayla and see what she and Madelyn want.”

”On it!"

Grabbing her bag, Baleigh flew out the door as Grace stayed behind and continued cleaning. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. Grace looked at the time. It was pretty early for Kayla and Madelyn to arrive, and Baleigh would have obviously just walked in. Besides, she couldn't have gotten back from her coffee run that quickly anyway. Was it a client? On a weekend? Grace was genuinely perplexed as to who it could be. The only way to find out was to open the door. The moment she did though she was met with instant regret as the face on the other side greeted her with a mischievous wink.

Flash back to the present, and Grace had found herself all tied up in the closet. She was tied in a seated lotus position, with her arms tied firmly behind her back. Her mouth was stuffed full of sock, with the other one pulled taut between her lips. She could feel the cool floor beneath her nylons and could just barely wiggle her stocking clad toes. That was about all she could do thanks to how tied up she was. Not to mention the fact that the way in which she was tied meant her skirt had risen up well past her rear!

Meanwhile, Kayla was thrashing about beside her. Given she wasn't as strictly tied, it meant she had more freedom to move around. Her arms were secured well above her head though, and as Kayla tested the restraints about her wrist she found them to be quite secure. Even though she was giving her best effort, the ropes refused to budge.

Kayla instead, devoted her efforts to pushing her sock out of her mouth that her assailant had so generously stuffed it with. It didn't take long for her to work it loose and spit it out. She took a deep breath before shouting out to teal haired girl that was currently tying up her other friend.

"You fucking creep," she yelled, "just who the hell are you? Why are you doing this?"

The girl was too busy restraining Madelyn that she couldn't be bothered to look up from her work. Instead, she quickly kicked the door shut plunging Kayla and Grace into darkness. Kayla groaned in frustration, turning to Grace to check in on her friend.

"Hey, Grace, what a way to reconnect, huh?"

"Mrrmph mmmph," Grace nodded, clearly just as annoyed as Kayla was.

Kayla had been looking forward to reconnecting with Grace and Baleigh, and to think that this is how their afternoon was turning out well...it was strangely fitting. After all, they'd ended up being kidnapped the first time they met each other. They would be officially two-for-two after today. Kayla did her best not to stare at Grace's bound form, but it was hard not to. The way her body was folded into that lotus position in combination with how her skirt was riding up giving Kayla a great view of Grace's thighs and...

Kayla forced herself to focus. Now was not the time for distractions! She needed to figure out how she was going to get out of this mess. Sadly, she didn't have much time to think. A short while later, the closet door was flung open again. Kayla's goofy looking, teal haired assailant was standing there, Madelyn standing in front of her. Madelyn's arms were tied behind her back with an intricate series of rope work around her chest pinning her arms to her sides. Even though her legs were totally free, the upper half of her body was thoroughly restrained. Madelyn's captor shoved her into the closet, following behind and then forcing her down onto the floor.

"Let us go!" Madelyn kicked out with her booted foot, almost catching the girl but she had seen the attack coming and quickly stepped aside. She then sat down on Madelyn's lap, straddling her thighs with her own as she pinned her legs down.

"Tsk tsk," the girl clicked, "what terrible manners you have."

"Look who's talking," Madelyn sniped back, "you call tying people up like this good manners? Just what the hell are you doing anyway?"

"What am I doing? Why, I'm chasing after my true love," the girl said, taking more rope and applying it to Madelyn's upper thighs, "I'm not here for any of you to be honest, you're just getting in my way. Here I thought I would just have Grace to deal with, and then you two showed up out of nowhere. Just my luck."

"We didn't show up out of nowhere," remarked Kayla, "You did. We've had plans to hang out with these two for months."

"Drat," the girl moaned, looking genuinely frustrated, "and here I thought this would all be so easy. It's fine, it's all going to be fine. I'm more than happy to improvise. Thank god I brought all this extra rope!"

"The least you can do is tell us who the hell you are," Kayla responded.

Penny snickered, "looks like I should have reinforced that gag of yours. You're quite the Chatty Cathy, aren't you? The name's Penny. I'm surprised Grace here hasn't told you about me."

"Mmmrrph mnnmmph." Grace muttered.

"Well, it's all quite simple really. I'm more than happy to explain. You see, Grace here seems to think that my precious Baleigh is all hers. She won't ever let me get any alone time with her. So this is what I am forced to resort to."

"Mrmmmph ggrrrmmph mmmph!"

"Shush, now, didn't your parents never tell you to talk with your mouth full?"

"Mmrrmmph..."

"So you're some kind of creepy stalker then I take it. Is that it?" Being a model, Madelyn had encountered her fair share of obsessive fans, and Penny fit the bill perfectly.

Penny gasped, "no, no, no! You've got it all so twisted. Baleigh and I belong together. Grace, and now the two of you, are standing in our way. Can't you see?"

"Ummm, no," Kayla responded, "no I cannot. You're a creepy obsessive stalker, no amount of set dressing is going to change that. Normally you just like ask your crush out to coffee. You don't tie up her friends. I think that should go without saying..."

"Well, I can't expect everyone to understand I suppose. Thankfully, I brought plenty of rope to go around so I don't have to!"

Penny giggled, as she gleefully went back to tying Madelyn up.

"Sorry," said Kayla, "all I hear is a creepy weirdo trying to convince she's not a stalker."

"Hmph," Penny snorted, "well then. You know what they say. If you don't have anything nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all. But don't you worry. I have just the thing for that."

Still sitting atop of Madelyn, Penny reached over and scooped up the sock that Kayla had spit from her mouth earlier. She then proceeded to yank of Kayla's remaining shoe before peeling off her other sock.

"Alright, time to really make sure you're kept quiet. I cannot have you interfering with my plans for this afternoon."

"Your plans?" Kayla asked.

"Yes! I have a whole afternoon planned for Baleigh and me."

"Funny," Kayla said, "so...did...we."

She emphasized every word, packing them with as much bitterness as she could muster.

"Wow, it's a good thing I'm here. Poor Baleigh must be so forlorn having to keep company with the likes of you. Ugh, my heart can barely take it."

Penny held both of her hands over her heart, as she puffed out her bottom lip and pretended to pout.

"If this is how you treat people," said Kayla, "I'd say her efforts to keep Baleigh apart from you are justified. Just saying..."

Penny's face shifted a bit, her pouting lip turning into a frown as she furrowed her eyebrows a bit. Clearly, Kayla was striking a nerve, something she was good at. Penny unsaddled herself from Madelyn, and shifted over so she was crouched in front of Kayla instead. She held Kayla's white crew socks up to her mouth, waving them around with a devious smirk.

"You'll see," said Penny, "Baleigh and I are meant to be. Try as you might, you, nor your little friend, nor Grace can stand in the way of true love. The only question is how much convincing will it take, that's the key. You see, Grace here, well, she still quite hasn't figured it out. But she will. I know she will."

"Mmmmph," Grace mumbled in clear opposition.

"Now, miss...sorry, what was your name again?"

"...it's Kayla. Kayla Grace."

"Kayla Grace, yes, right. Now miss Grace. Or wait...no, I don't want to get you confused with the Grace. Can I call you Kayla?"

"Jesus, just hurry up and gag me, will you?"

Penny grinned, practically from ear to ear, "with pleasure."

Penny eagerly crammed in the socks, pushing them all the way in and filling Kayla's cheeks with the soft cotton.

"There, that is sooo much better," purred Penny a she used her fingers to poke as much of the sock into Kayla's mouth as could fit. Grabbing a roll of duct tape, Penny unwound a large strip. She pressed a portion of it between Kayla's lips before wrapping layer after layer around Kayla's head, passing it between her lips with each pass so that Kayla was cleave gagged with bands of tape.

"Mrrmmmph," Kayla mumbled under her gag, her speech totally unintelligible now.

"Two down, one more to go," Penny sang to herself, turning her attention back to Madelyn.

"You're not getting away with this," Madelyn said, "she's a reporter you now. She'll find a way to take you down. I've seen her deal with far worse than you."

"Have you now? That is just adorable," Penny said as she grabbed the tops of Madelyn's boots and worked them off her legs. "You know, I'm super famous myself. Maybe when Baleigh gets here I can show you some of my content. It's great, I'm sure you'll just love it."

"I'll pass," croaked Madelyn, clearly not amused.

"You'll pa...what do you mean you'll pass? You don't want to see how super talented I am?!"

"Considering what you've done to me and my two friends here, yeah, no thanks."

Penny puffed out her cheeks and groaned.

"You know, you'd be soooo much cuter if you weren't so mouthy and rude. Thankfully, I have just the thing!"

Penny slid Madelyn's tall white socks off, leaving Madelyn's legs bare save for the nude colored pantyhose she wore. Penny knotted the socks together in the middle, forming a makeshift ball gag of sorts. Grabbing Madelyn's chin she lifted her head up, bringing the knot right up to Madelyn's lips.

"Say ahhh," she said.

"Go to helmmmmph!"

The knot of socks was shoved into Madelyn's open mouth, forcing her jaw wide open. Her lips gently rested atop the fluffy mass as it packed her mouth to the brim.

"Hrrmmph nnmmmph!" The socks instantly reduced her speech to muffled grunts as she joined Kayla and Grace in this silenced state of affairs.

Penny fished her efforts by making sure Madelyn's ankles and the rest of her legs were tied together, before finally standing up and clapping her hands together in victory. Her three captives wriggled in unison in front of her, the gentle swish of their pantyhose was like music to Penny's ears.

"Wow," she said, staring down with pride at her captives. "To think that I have to go through so much trouble just to get time with my beloved Baleigh. It's a tragedy, really. Such a tragedy."

"Ffnnnmmph hmmmph."

Grace angrily tutted back, twisting around as she shouted what sounded like a string of obscenities up at Penny.

"Grace my dear," Penny replied, "once again you are no match for me. Then again, who can ever truly match the powers of love."

Kayla and Grace rolled their eyes in unison.

"Now," Penny said, "time to go wait for my precious Baleigh to arrive. I'm not sure what I plan to do with you three, but I'll figure something out who knows. For now, sit tight! Hehe!"

"MMMMNNMPH!"

The three girls shouted through their sock stuffed mouths as Penny pranced off, slamming the door in her wake and plunging the trio of damsels into darkness.

Kayla, as ever the resourceful as she usually was , began working at her restraints immediately after Penny had left. Her nimble fingers fumbled with the knots, desperate to find some semblance of freedom. Beside her, both Madelyn and Grace did the same, desperately searching for a weak spot in their bindings. They struggled for a good while, before their efforts were interrupted by a door opening off in the distance.

"I'm baaaack...wait, guys? Where are you? What...oh for crying out loummph!"

It sounded like Baleigh put up quite the fight, but eventually the sounds of struggle subsided indicating that Penny had managed to gain the upper hand and subdue her as well. This was confirmed as the closet door was once again flung open, Penny standing in the doorway with a triumphant grin on her face. Behind her, Baleigh struggled on the sofa with lots of rope around her upper body and her legs.

"Lmmmph mmmrrmph ffmmph!" Baleigh tossed and turned, her nylon clad feet flailing as she fought against Penny's restraints. Her complaints were all but muffled, thanks to the mouthful of socks she was chewing on, visible under the layers of clear tape Penny had wrapped around her head. Baleigh flopped about on the couch, not letting her restraints hold her back one bit. She really did never know when to quit!

Approaching Kayla, Madelyn, and Grace, Penny clapped her hands together and giggled. "Okie-dokie! Before I leave I have a super duper fun surprise for you three. You're going to love it, trust me!"

Penny had a strange idea of what the word "love" meant, but she did have one thing going for her: creativity! Before making it off with Baleigh, she took special care to re-tie her three friends, connecting their bodies in an array of ropes. They were all laid down on the floor, hogtied, but they had positioned in a "y" shape as if you were dividing a circle in thirds. Their legs were all raised in ninety degree angles up from the floor, with rope connecting them all together forming a small tree of bound legs.

"Mmmrmph mmmmnnnmph hhrrmmnnph."

Not to mention the fact that they were all wearing significantly less clothes than before. Penny had left them in just their bras and pantyhose before tying them all up together.

The three girls groaned and moaned, their mouths still thoroughly stuffed to the brims. They could do nothing as Penny scooped Baleigh up and gleefully made her escape. Left behind, the trio of damsels struggled hard for their freedom. With how they had been tied, it made movement very difficult. Then again, Kayla knew it would only be a matter of time before they'd find their way out of this mess. Penny had, after all, left a pair of scissors just slightly out of Kayla's reach. It was just enough to give her a head start with Baleigh, without being totally cruel and leaving her three friends behind with no way of escape.

About a half hour later, after lots of struggling and shuffling around, the trio of damsels had finally escaped their bonds. Grace sat for a moment, massaging her wrists and stretching her legs.

"I'd like to apologize for Penny." It was the first thing she had said after spitting out the sock from her mouth.

"Bleh," Kayla said, removing her own pair and stretching her jaw. "No need to apologize, knowing my track record I'm sure we would have found ourselves in some kind of mess anyway. All things considered, this wasn't half bad."

Madelyn laughed, her knotted socks dangling around her neck. "At least I get paid when I do stuff like this."

Kayla shot her a dirty look as Madelyn giggled.

"Any idea where Penny took Baleigh?" Kayla asked Grace.

The previously disheveled investigator had quickly recovered from her restraints. She'd already slipped back into her white turtleneck, and was currently pulling her skirt up over her rear. She had neglected not to put her socks back on, instead just pulling her black boots right over her tights.

"I have more than just an idea," said Grace, scooping up her long black coat with purpose, "Penny may have some tricks up her sleeve, but she's nothing if not hasty. She forgot to ditch Baleigh's phone. I can see exactly where they are."

"Pfft, nice," replied Kayla, stepping back into her loafers, "you ready for round two?"

"Speaking of which, before we go I really am sorry about today. It's just that Penny is so..."

"Chaotic?"

"Over the top?"

"A total nuisance?"

"I may have been thinking of some other choice words, but those descriptions work too," Grace said with a dry smirk.

Kayla offered a smile of her own, "It's no big deal. We're happy to help rescue Baleigh."

"Besides," said Madelyn, butting in, "the amount of times a week I have to rescue her, it's never ending." She said this while shouldering her purse and giving her skirt one final smooth over.

"I figured as much," replied Grace. "Alright, let's go rescue Baleigh. Hopefully we can make this quick and maybe grab some dinner afterwords. Then again, knowing Penny...who knows what else we're in for. God only knows what she has planned with Baleigh this time..."

"Is it usually that bad?" Kayla asked.

"Bad's not quite the word, more like...well, I'll give you an example. Last time I rescued her, they were in the middle of watching the Lord of the Rings extended trilogy."

Kayla raised an eyebrow, "I'm assuming that Baleigh was..."

"Tied up, of course," Grace shot back, "so who knows what we'll stumble into this time around."

"Guess there's only one way to find out," said Kayla, "you ready?"

Grace exhaled. Kayla could just see it in her eyes, she was clearly very fed up with Penny's shenanigans.

"Let's go save Baleigh."
