The pretty young coed squirmed in Pete's grasp, not that she had much chance of slipping free. She was now very much regretting ditching her friends to try and walk home at night. The professional kidnapper wasn't paying much attention to her, just enough to be sure she wasn't about to try anything. The rest of his senses were focused on picking out the curious whooshing sound, all but drowned out by the sounds of traffic and life in a city that never slept. Sure enough, a few seconds later, something flew by the entrance to the dark alley. It was, incongruously enough, a person, seemingly floating through the air, bent forward, both arms outstretched. She was dressed bizarrely in a skimpy, skin tight suit and cape, the kind of look that might have attracted Pete's attention normally, if he didn't know that that particular pretty face had some remarkable power behind it. Best to give her a wide berth.
Fortunately, she kept on flying, speeding off towards another part of the city, where the first sounds of chaos were beginning to rise over the honking of horns and the wails of police sirens. "I thought the Society of Malevolence was planning something this evening..." Pete thought to himself, aloud. Though he wouldn't have anything to do with such characters, they did provide a useful distraction to cover his own operations. "Don't get your hopes up..." He told his captive, as he dragged her deeper into the alley where he had some rope, a gag and a bottle of chloroform prepared for her. "The heroes will be quite busy elsewhere tonight..."

"Tell me again how I got roped into this? I should know better..."
"Because you know this is an awesome idea. You can be my sidekick, Slaver Girl! Now come! There's villainy afoot, and we're it!"
"I can't believe I spent eight hours yesterday putting a costume together for this...
