Late one night, Peter drove out to the location. It was one he'd scouted some time ago, a local theater, the company that owned it having gone bankrupt under very complicated circumstances. While all of that was winding its way through the courts, the building sat empty, unused and he'd noted it as something he could use. Abandoned buildings like these were quite useful to one in his line of work. If one was discrete, looked the part, like a budget refurbishment company or the like, you could pop in, set up whatever you needed, maybe an office for employee "interviews" or in this case, a location for his auction. Afterwords, clear the place out and no one would be the wiser.
Just to be sure though, he double checked things. The place certainly had enough space to accommodate both the crowd of bidders up front, and the many lots they'd be bidding on backstage. There was also reasonably discrete access via a back road. Many of his clients had to be careful coming and going. The last thing they wanted was the attention of law enforcement or reporters. He'd double-check to make sure the place still had power but... "I think we might have a winner here..."

"Let me just get this banner hung up..." Andy stood on tiptoes at the top of the stepladder. With a final lunge, he jumped up and got the end of the banner, a wad of tape stuck to one side, to stick, awkwardly, against the wall. "Perfect!" He thought to himself. He looked around the room, proud of his achievement. The place had been tidied up, for the first time in a while. His merchandise sat on the couch. His attempt at getting her to demonstrate her usefulness in household chores had proved untenable, so for the moment she was just bound and gagged while he set everything up. He'd gotten out the old card table, covering it up with a cheap plastic table cloth, on which he'd set out some chips, store bought cookies and punch... "I think the bidders will love this." He said to himself...
