Out on the southern steppes, the experienced wranglers of the Sakar Burona Ranch are hard at work rounding up new stock. This year, they've had to push deep into the endless grasslands as years of slaving have pushed the nomadic centaur herds further from civilized lands. For weeks, they've followed a large herd of fine bay centaurs, waiting for their opportunity. It came when several young mares fell behind the main body. Swooping in, the wranglers chased the mare's further from the main herd, before bringing them down with bolas and lariats. Once down, the centaurs are quickly hogtied, bound and fitted with crude bitgags. One mare, feistier then the others has remained on her feet, fighting back against the wranglers, but it is only a matter of time before she is dragged down as well.
Once their catch is bound, gagged and hobbled, the wranglers will send the freshly caught stock back to the ranch with a couple of the hands while the rest continue following the herd, waiting for a chance to pick off more of their number. In a good season, the wranglers can bring in several dozen head of stock for the ranch. Once broken, branded and trained, the centaurs will be sent north to be sold at slave markets across the civilized lands, most notably Three Crowns Slave Fair.
