(Excerpt from Three Crowns Slave Fair: A Helpful Guide For The New Visitor)

Three Crowns: After Dark

Each evening, as the sun sets over the western mountains of Three Crowns, the bulk of the notorious slave fair shuts down for the evening. Customers leave with their newly purchased slaves, heading homeward or to seek lodgings in one of the many temporary accommodations that spring up with the Fairground each summer. In the fair, sellers shut down for the evening, caging up the unsold wares in the large slave pens, as the slave merchants count the day’s profits.

However, as the larger fair shuts down for the day, another one opens to the setting sun; the infamous Three Crowns Night Fair. Coming to the fair are many who, by necessity or preference, cannot attend during the day. If you come to the Night Fair, you will see strange things and many unique beauties on offer that can’t be seen during the day. Be warned, though, not to stray too far from the lit parts of the fair for one’s safety.

Orcs:

One of the common items you will see being sold at the night Fair are she-orc slaves. Hardy orc slaves are a valuable commodity in the mines, quarries, plantations, any operation which requires a large number of strong, sturdy, though not highly skilled, workers. Many a badlands orc or footslogger in some would-be Dark Lord’s horde has found herself in chains, following their master’s downfall, on the seller’s stand in Three Crowns.

Most buyers, though, find pure-bred orcs to be too stubborn, too wild, for them to handle and too prone to violent resistance. For this, they turn to the half-breeds, pure orc mixed with another, civilized race; human, elf, dwarf or more exotic breeds. Much of the strength and stamina of the orc is retained, but the slave is much more obedient and manageable.

Torgan and Sons have long been a staple of the Night Market. At their stand, one can find a wide range of half-breeds to meet any buyer’s needs, or even pure bloods, usually badlands orcs brought in by the Torgan Co. Hunters each year, should you be interested in attempting to breed your own slaves.

Here, at long last, is the first part of the second installment in the Three Crowns Slave Fair project I started over a year ago. (achast.deviantart.com/gallery/…) Since the last part dealt with the stereotypical "Good" races of fantasy: elves, dwarves, halflings, this time I decided to give some time to the "evil" races now. Feel free to browse around, see if anything catches your eye, a seductive beauty to warm your bed, or a fierce monster to do your bidding. Along the way, keep an eye out for the many famous monsters and villains visiting the Fair as well as cameos of characters created by :iconshabazik: and :iconironhawk-r:.
