No visit to Three Crowns Slave Fair is complete without a stop by the main auction stage. The stage is available to any sellers who wish to use it and while many of the larger auctions are advertised well in advance, others may be surprises. You’ll never know what new offerings will appear on the block; everything from peasant lasses to kidnapped princesses have been auctioned off before. Stop by and you might find a bargain.
Here, we see an ongoing auction. Captain Kreark and his crew of the Goblins are regulars at Three Crowns. During the Autumn and Spring, they stalk the waters of the Inner Sea aboard their galleon the Black Eel, taking merchant ships and raising small coastal villages. In the summer, they dock and bring their catch to the Slave Fair. This year, the pickings have been very good. The Eel’s hold is packed with pretty female captives: passengers and crew taken off other ships or snatched off an island shore.
The best prize of the season: two human sisters, the daughters of one of the merchant lords. Led up onto the stage, the girls are initially hopeful when the spot one of their father’s agents in the crowd, bidding on them. But as their price rises, he drops out and walks away. It seems their father, ever the thrifty merchant, only gave his servant a small purse, with which to bid for his daughters’ freedom and now he has just been outbid…
