In the center of the Borrelia, the Northern Continent is a region of rugged highlands, lying on the frontiers of three great kingdoms. For a hundred years, all three lay claim to these lands and thus, none of them have been able to exert control over the sparsely settled countryside known as the Three Crowns Folly. Here, a century ago, three rulers fought one another until all three perished in that battle. Their descendants have since contented themselves; if they cannot claim these lands, they may at least deny it to their rivals, and so the region remains unruled.
Three Crowns would be little more than a footnote for mapmakers, save for the infamous Slave Fair held among its hills. One a year, for few weeks in the summer months, a few acres of wilderness is transformed into the largest slave market in the civilized world. Buyers and Sellers from across the Northern Continent and beyond come, along with the thousands of beautiful slave girls that are sold each year.
Those wishing to visit the fair are advised to take the old Royal Road from the south. Once in the foothills, look for a trail marked with the Fair’s Symbol: Three Golden Crowns opposite a pair of iron shackles and take it straight to the main gate. Those flying in on carpets or winged mounts and those teleporting via magic portal are advised by Management to land or materialize in the open field directly west of the fairgrounds and proceed to the gate on foot. Stabling and handling for mounts while in the fair is available for a modest fee.
Once inside the gate, the unprepared may find themselves overwhelmed by the sights and sounds around them. Take a brief moment to orient oneself and you will soon find it easy enough to navigate the many booths and pavilions. Keep a close watch on your purse, as large crowds hide pickpockets and take care not to let any purchases you make wander off.
While on the Fair Grounds, be mindful to follow the Fair Rules at all time. (See Appendix A for a complete list of current Fair Rules.) Management looks poorly on those who cause trouble while on Fair Grounds and failure to abide by these rules may lead to your expulsion from the Fair Grounds or worse…
New visitors and longtime Fairgoers alike may find it useful to acquire a Fair Map, as the Fair changes and grows from year to year. Just inside the gate, you will find one or more of the Fair’s slaves selling them. Just look for a Green Banner marked with a compass. The map will contain a current list all the merchants present at the Fair and the locations of their booths. If one is looking for something particular in a slave, a few silver pieces invested in a Fair Map may save the canny fairgoer many hours of walking in search of that one special slave girl...Or you may prefer to simply wander the fair and see what is available.
While, obviously every year, the Fair will have a different selection of slaves available, one can always expect to find some of the following items for sale.
Humans:
While not the flashiest or most exotic race, human females make up by far the bulk of the merchandise available for sale, so if a human slave girl is what you seek, you will be spoiled for choice; Pale Blonde peasant lasses and Fiery Haired maidens from the cold North, golden-skinned Beauties from the Southern Islands, Exotic concubines brought from the furthest reaches of the known world, all can be found and for very reasonable prices at Three Crowns.
Lady Siri’s pavilion, located near the gate, has been a fixture at the fair for many years. During the rest of the year, the Lady travels widely, visiting other slave markets, local and international, picking the very best girls for sale at her booth each year at the fair. Be sure to visit early in the fair, though, as the quality and wide selection she has means Lady Siri often sells out quickly…

Here, at long last, is part one of a major project which I have been working on since December of last year. It would have been posted sooner, but for computer troubles which caused me to lose most of my work, and it probably wouldn't have been posted at all, if I didn't force myself to stop tweaking and adding more things to it.
