As Governess to the Dornea Family, Miss Knowles considered it her responsibility to watch after the daughters of Lord and Lady Dornea, and to teach them to become proper, respectable Ladies of the Gentry.
Unfortunately, one summer day, during an outing to the countryside, the ladies were waylaid by a band of ruffians, who forced the three from their carriage, bound and gagged them, and spirited them away to a ship on the coast, waiting to smuggle them overseas.
Now, the three are awaiting sale at some distant slave market. Despite this change in circumstances, Miss Knowles is still determined to do her best to prepare her charges as best she can for the life ahead of them...
