Here's my entry for the Cindy Malone Story Contest: <a href="https://deaart.deviantart.com/journal/36268132/">[link]</a><br />A word of warning for my usual readers, this story is a lot darker then my usual stuff. (<a class="external" href="https://www.deviantart.com/users/outgoing?http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TrueArtIsAngsty">[link]</a>) so bear that in mind while you're reading. <br />And why the dark ending? I tried to base this off the old pulp fiction detective stories, and the best of them always ended with a cliffhanger. <br />In theory, the next issue would have resolved this story before moving onto the next mystery, but since there is no next issue, you'll just have to come up with your own explanation how Cindy and her friends manage to escape and capture the badguys.
