“mmmppphhh…” Rebecca groaned into her gag. The 19-year old girl sat on a hard wooden chair…somewhere. In all honesty, she had no idea where she was. A thick scarf was tied across her eyes, keeping her in the darkness. She’s had it on when she was brought here, and she’d had it on in the two days since then. Another scarf was pulled between her teeth, muffling her whimpers. It was only removed when they fed her, twice a day, one of her captors feeding the helpless girl.
Rebecca’s arms were lashed to the arms of the chair with rope. Her feet were similarly tied to the chair legs. Each coil of rope, every knot had been pulled as tight as possible, with no regard given for her comfort. Several times during the day, she was untied, to allow her some exercise and relief, always with her blindfold kept on. At night, her hands and feet were tied and she was allowed to lie down on a bare mattress, to get some sleep.
Three days ago, Rebecca had been at home, alone. Her father, CEO of a large shipping company, had been away, at a meeting or something. She’d been watching TV when three masked men had suddenly rushed into the room, brandishing pistols. The terrified girl had been quickly pushed up against a wall. Any thought of resistance was overwhelmed by sheer terror as the men methodically secured their captive. Her hands were pulled behind her back and quickly lashed with rope, as had her feet. She was gagged and blindfolded, and then picked up and carried to the kidnapper’s van.
They had driven for what seemed days to Rebecca, lying on the floor of the van, hidden underneath a blanket, sobbing quietly to herself, wondering what was going to happen to her. Suddenly, the van had stopped and she’d been hauled into here. Her bonds were cut, but before she could enjoy her brief moment of freedom, Rebecca had been pushed into this chair and quickly tied up once again.
Rebecca whimpered in fear, as she heard a door open, nearby, and several men entered. One of them spoke, his voice rough and frightening. “Good news, girly. We got word from your father. He’s decided to pay up, which means it’s time for you to go home.”
Rebecca raised her head, in disbelief. Was her captivity really over? She’d almost given up hope of ever being freed, she’d thought she’d spend the rest of her life in this awful place. She didn’t struggle as she felt rough hands untying the ropes holding her to the chair. As always, her freedom from the ropes was brief. Hands seized her wrists and roughly twisted them behind her back, where they were bound with rope. Her ankles were similarly tied together. She gave a surprised squeal of fright as she was lifted up and thrown over one of the kidnapper’s shoulders. He carried her out of the room, a short distance.
After a few minutes, Rebecca was set down again, lying on the floor of the van. The kidnappers piled in, starting up the vehicle. They drove for what seemed hours to the captive girl, before coming to a halt once more. Rebecca was picked up and carried out of the van. She was set on the ground, her back pressed against what felt like a metal pole. Rope was passed around her chest, above and below her breasts, each loop pulled tight, securing her to the pole.
Nearby, Rebecca heard one of the men speaking into a cellphone. “Alright, Mr. Harrison, we’ve got out money and we’re letting your daughter go right now. She’ll be waiting for you at the corner of 3rd Street and Broad Avenue.”
“So long, girly…” one of the men said, patting her shoulder. “I’m sure your father will be along to pick you up soon enough, if someone else doesn’t free you sooner…” Rebecca whimpered into her gag in fear, as she heard them climb back into their van, which drove away, leaving her lashed to the signpost, alone…
