Well, here's my first fan fiction offering. I toyed with this idea for a long time for several reasons. For one, I've only played the old school Metroid games (that is NES Metroid, Metroid II and Super Metroid) and only ever watched a playthrough of the first Metroid Prime. I hope I did all right in depicting the world properly. It's based mostly on research. Like I said in the note, don't take this as canon because I don't really know what I'm doing on that front.

The other problem I had was trying to come up with who could beat Samus, even temporarily. She's just too strong and powerful, as far as I'm concernced. So the only thing I could come up with was Samus herself. I've always been intrigued by Dark Samus so that's why she's here. But Samus kicked the crap out of her, too, so I figured it would make sense that there is no truly defeating Samus Aran. (Also, I'd like to add that this is in no way, shape or form inspired by Metroid: Other M. Samus' depiction in that was horrendous and not in keeping with the brickhouse badass that she is. End of mini-rant)
